Tutankhamun's Statue
Although the conditions at the "construction site" were harsh, over the years, many of the wizards recruited have settled down in the area and started living a simple life.
Over time, it eventually formed a wizarding village similar to Hogsmeade.
In the center of the village, the most prominent landmark is a magnificent pyramid.
The best locations in each city are usually occupied by banks or tobacco companies.
Similarly, that Egypt -style building must also be Gringotts.
Since the wizard village is built on the site of an ancient Egypt ruin, an antique market has also sprung up here.
But this market is quite unique, combining wholesale and bargain hunting, giving it a mixed feel of Panjiayuan and Yiwu small commodities.
If you mix in these two titles, there's basically no genuine product.
In any case, with the Goblin ' shrewd eyes, there's no way they would let the treasures in the temples and pharaohs' tombs be lost.
But wizards from all over the world still flock to the area looking for bargains.
Many people do wholesale, then take the goods back to continue their scams.
In short, the atmosphere was very lively. As William walked in, he could hear the enthusiastic shouts of the Goblin as they sold their wares.
That's right, many of the shops are run by Goblin.
They first hired a sorcerer to help break the curse so they could obtain the treasures from the Egypt ruins.
They then create high-quality replicas of magical items, sell them to wizards, and finally provide authentication services... making money from all three parties.
They've been skinning people alive.
As William passed a stall, he was suddenly drawn to a particularly exquisite item:
Inside the wooden shrine sat a small, pure gold statue.
The statue depicts a young wizard standing on a small boat made of papyrus roots.
He held a fork in one hand and a coil of rope in the other, looking as if he was about to throw it... He resembled Runtu.
The Goblin, seeing the client approach, immediately put on a smile and began her introduction with enthusiasm and professionalism:
"This is a magical artifact unearthed from the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun, depicting him hunting hippos."
Tutankhamun is arguably one of Egypt's most famous pharaohs.
He ascended the throne at the age of 9 and died suddenly at the age of 19.
The Pharaoh's curse, which states that "whoever disturbs the peace of the Pharaoh will die," comes from his tomb inscription.
The statue depicts Tutankhamun capturing a hippopotamus.
This is not an ordinary hippopotamus, but a Magical Creatures unique to Egypt.
In ancient Egypt, whether they were sorcerers, Muggle Egypt, there was a tradition of hunting hippos.
This is equivalent to an ancient Egypt version of bullfighting.
Legend has it that King Menes, the unifier of Egypt, was killed by a hippopotamus while hunting.
It has a Robert vibe to it.
Set, the Egypt desert god, murdered his Osiris.
Horus sought revenge on Set for his father's death, so Set used Transfiguration to transform into a hippopotamus.
Horus, wielding a magical steel fork, stabbed the hippopotamus, leaving it covered in wounds.
This statue depicts Tutankhamun in the likeness of Horus, showing him hunting a hippopotamus.
William noticed that the harpoon in Tutankhamun's hand was very similar in its ornamentation to the trident in the hand of the Lady of the Lake.
They really look alike!
"How much is this?" he asked.
The Goblin sized William up and down, and, having finally caught a scoundrel, grinned, revealing a mouthful of gold teeth.
"Eighty thousand Galleon, sir!"
"No, I'm buying it seriously, sir." William rolled his eyes.
"Even if you don't buy it properly, it'll still cost the same. This is the real deal; it could buy almost half of Diagon Alley, but I'm selling it to you cheap now," the Goblin said, spitting as she tried to persuade him.
Hermione and William exchanged a glance.
As a bargaining expert, she extended her slender right hand and gestured a number.
The Goblin was secretly delighted, but he quickly said, "Eight thousand Galleon is definitely not enough. Add some more, at least ten thousand."
"I meant eighty Galleon, thank you!" Hermione said bluntly.
"..."
The Goblin was speechless.
People usually cut the price in half, but you're cutting off several zeros at once.
That's too cruel!
"No way!" it shook its head. "I'll give you a fair price, at least eight hundred."
This is something that can't be faked.
Those unscrupulous merchants can make its shape, but they can't make its rust...
Hermione grabbed William, turned around, and left without hesitation.
The statue is definitely a replica; it's probably not even as old as the wand in William's hand.
Buying these kinds of things... it just tests your patience.
Often, when you keep haggling, they just raise the price and start arguing with you.
If you really leave... the boss will panic, since the costs are really low, and every sale means more profit.
This is a psychological game.
William and Hermione walked past several stalls, silently counting to ten in their minds.
When they called out "eighth, "the Goblin saw that the wicked child was really going to run away, and sure enough, he chased after him.
"Giving me 100 Galleon is a loss for me, you can take it!"
"Eighty-five." Hermione didn't stick to a fixed price and added five Galleon.
"Ninety! Let's be friends!" The old demon exclaimed anxiously, "I won't sell it any lower!"
"Fine." William didn't care about those few Galleon.
Hermione whispered in his ear, "What a loss, we should have just called him eighteen from the start."
William patted her head with a smile.
Soon, the two arrived at Gringotts and entered the pyramid-shaped building.
The internal structure of the pyramid is similar to that of Gringotts diagonally opposite it.
The spacious hall was filled with tables, and many Goblin were examining antiques and gold.
William ostensibly attends the Alchemy conference, but in reality, he helps the Goblin with their tomb raiding activities.
Given his renowned reputation, it goes without saying that the Goblin immediately treated him as their most important guest and welcomed him into the VIP room.
"Mr. Jorah is in a meeting, he'll be here soon, please wait a moment." After serving the tea, the Goblin left.
William sat on the sofa, looking out the window.
From here, you can see the view of the west bank of the Nile River.
The wizard village is located on the east bank of the river.
In the eyes of the ancient Egypt, the east bank was the land of sunrise, considered the border of the living, and was specifically used to build towns and temples.
The west bank, being the place of sunset, was considered the place of the dead and was used to build tombs and funerary temples.
The famous Valley of the Kings is located to the west.
Since 2100 BC, the Valley of the Kings has been the burial place of royal family members, with 63 magnificent royal tombs.
In fact, even Egypt's Beautiful Queen's tomb is located here.
The discovery of Cleopatra VII's tomb is inextricably linked to Arya Grindelwald.
According to Dumbledore, she possessed the soul of Cleopatra VII.
This was obtained by Grindelwald from Egypt and was eventually placed into Arya's body by Rosier.
After Arya arrived in Egypt, rumors soon spread about the exact location of Egypt's Beautiful Queen's tomb.
This seems to confirm that.
Dumbledore then:
It's possible that Arya deliberately spread the news so that the Goblin could break the tomb's magic, allowing her to easily enter the tomb herself.
It's been four years since I last saw her. I wonder how Arya is doing now.
Of course, William would love for her dead... preferably never to see her again.
This kind of fierce woman is provocative.
