Harry's Death
According to Vivian, only three of the Lady of the Lake remain:
The eldest sister Vivian, the second sister is the black witch Morgan, and the youngest sister Elaine.
Although they share the same father, they have different mothers, and their sisterly relationship is superficial.
Vivian and Morgan need no further explanation.
Vivian was ambushed by Morgan, and her soul was placed by Merlin inside Egypt's Beautiful Queen's mummy;
Morgan was defeated by Merlin and imprisoned inside Stonehenge;
The youngest sister, Elaine, was only a few years old at the time. It had been 1,500 years since they last met, and her whereabouts were unknown; it was unclear whether she was dead or alive.
Their relationship wasn't as deep as Vivian's and Arya's.
These are Death's three daughters.
That strange old man is unlikely to be the son of Death, but he is very likely Death himself.
This put William in a difficult position.
Suddenly, an enemy lurking in the shadows appears out of nowhere, and we don't even know his identity or purpose.
But behind the scenes, he was secretly plotting and manipulating events.
She deceived Rosier, seduced Arya, and even appeared in front of William multiple times to deliberately attract his attention.
He looked exactly like a criminal who deliberately showed up at a crime scene.
From a psychological perspective, returning to the scene can bring a certain sense of pleasure and control.
There's also the thrill of fooling others, as if you're in control of everything.
This kind of enemy is not only perverted but also terrifying.
But this also shows that Vivian's words are more credible than Morgan's.
William remained silent for a long time, deep in thought about the old man's identity.
Vivian looked at his profile, bit her thin lips, and pleaded:
"Now you can let me go, right? I'll go kill Morgan, and you don't want to see her escape Stonehenge, do you?"
William glanced at her.
The younger sister ambushed the older sister, and the older sister's first thought after being resurrected was to kill her younger sister... They're both good kids, professionally boosting their father's (the Death's) KPIs.
He asked with great skepticism, "Are you Morgan's rival?"
Vivian is currently still in Arya's body, and her strength has been severely weakened; she might not even be much stronger than him.
"I was lying in the golden coffin when your magic was interrupted, so I couldn't be resurrected. Of course not." Vivian hesitated for a moment before asking:
"But the Holy Grail is in your hands, isn't it?"
Don't deny it!
I had heard about the Venice White Dragon incident.
Merlin sealed those two dragons away; I can use their power.
"You can use this?" William's eyes widened.
Merlin left the magic within the Holy Grail; he still recognized it.
That power was incredibly strong, but the trigger condition was that a dragon escaped.
Although the White Dragon is no longer inside the Holy Grail, he is with Morgan, still imprisoned within Merlin's Stonehenge, unable to trigger magic.
For William now, the Holy Grail is like a double-edged sword—he can't use it, but he can't throw it away either.
"Back then, Merlin and I sealed away two dragons together, and he left me a back door."
"But don't even think about it. Even I can't break Merlin's magic," Vivian said.
"With those two dragons, Morgan is no match for me."
"One of them has already been swindled away by Morgan," William explained somewhat awkwardly.
"..."
After listening, Vivian sighed and finally said:
"With the Red Dragon combined with the power left behind by Merlin within the Holy Grail... we can barely put up a fight."
"Do you think I would just hand over the Holy Grail to you like that?" William countered.
Although the Holy Grail is now somewhat useless, it is still Deathly Hallows.
William found an opportunity to release the red dragon... The water inside also possessed the power of resurrection.
Didn't Jesus rise from the dead on the third day using this very thing?
This is what he really wants.
William's unspoken message was simple: he was willing to give Vivian the gift, but only in exchange for something of equal value.
Vivian remained silent. In her current state, even her body temporarily belonged to Arya. What could she possibly offer in exchange?
"I can teach you the Prehistoric Mysteries I possess. If you're not comfortable with that, you can form a pact with me."
William weighed the pros and cons.
Over the years, he did indeed follow Nicolas and learn a few Prehistoric Mysteries.
However, due to the demise of the Invisible College, Nicolas didn't master many of the Prehistoric Mysteries.
William can craft the Deathly Hallows, and he also has the raw materials.
It is possible to create another Holy Grail.
The opportunity to systematically learn the Prehistoric Mysteries... once missed, it will never come again.
You will never lose money in a transaction.
Besides, increasing our strength is the most important thing right now.
Grindelwald's words before he left still echoed in my ears:
The most terrifying scenario will unfold in the future.
What exactly was the future that Grindelwald saw regarding Death...?
William only regretted that he lacked the ability to Prophecy and was unable to make judgments.
Wait... predicting the future.
He suddenly remembered the bottle of the Potions, the Future Water, that he had won in Slughorn's class last year.
Like Felix Felicis, the Future Water is magical; its effect is that after ingesting it, one can see glimpses of the future.
Of course, this is not something the person taking the medication can control.
But if William drinks Felix Felicis and then takes the Future Water, with incredible luck, wouldn't he be able to predict what he wants?!
He and Hermione discussed it and concluded that, theoretically, there shouldn't be any problems with the operation.
Without hesitation, William quickly found the bottle of Potions, combined it with Felix Felicis, and took a sip.
He closed his eyes, slightly raised his chin, and bathed himself in the light of the Goblin Gems, his face filled with satisfaction, as if he were intoxicated by the Felix Felicis.
William took a deep breath, thinking of Death, and then some images appeared in his mind.
After an unknown amount of time, he suddenly opened his eyes, looked at Vivian, and said with a deep expression:
"Besides the Prehistoric Mysteries, I need one more thing."
"What?" Vivian asked.
William took a small, solid gold statue from the Safety Watch:
That was Pharaoh Tutankhamun, standing on a small boat made of papyrus roots, holding a fork in one hand and a roll of rope in the other, as if about to throw it.
This was the fake statue William had bought from the Goblin earlier, the one that looked familiar with the trident.
He pointed to the steel fork in Tutankhamun's hand and said:
"I want this trident... it's in Morgan's hands!"
Help me snatch it from her!
The sky gradually brightened.
Harry, lying on a cold rock, groggily opened his eyes.
He rubbed his cheeks to clear his head.
Harry just had a very long dream, a chaotic and overlapping dream:
Sometimes it's a flying motorcycle; sometimes it's the cupboard at the bottom of the stairs where he's lived for many years; sometimes it's a large, green snake biting his neck.
I also dreamt that many people died:
The Godfather Sirius was killed; Dumbledore fell to his death from the rooftop; and the twins fell to the Death Eaters' wands.
Occasionally, Voldemort's ugly face would appear in my dreams;
And Ron's smiling face, but in the end he suddenly abandoned her, no matter how much she cried and begged, he wouldn't turn back...
The dream was chaotic and unreliable. The only thing Harry found worth remembering was Hagrid suddenly appearing and bringing him a flattened cake.
Harry stared blankly at the sky, only then realizing that today seemed to be his birthday.
At seventeen, he became an adult.
Harry couldn't remember if today was actually his birthday; he just had a vague feeling.
Once Tom caught him and they entered this awful place from the sea, he lost all sense of time.
A day and night seem very long here; as Tom says, a night has twenty-four hours.
Bullshit, screw 24-hour service!
Harry felt that Tom was insulting his intelligence.
Why don't you just say this is Mars?
But he had to admit that both the night and the day were indeed longer Hogwarts.
Of course, the night is the hardest to get through compared to the daytime.
There wasn't a single ray of light in the sky; it was pitch black all around, incredibly terrifying.
Harry slowly sat up but didn't see Tom.
He looked around expectantly, hoping Hagrid would appear.
He was even more hoping that Dumbledore, and William, who had saved him countless times over the past six years, would appear...
Unfortunately, Harry knew it was impossible; Tom took him to a place no one could possibly find.
He's doomed; no one will come to save him.
Harry knew he wouldn't die so soon.
He was very useful to Tom; otherwise, they wouldn't have gone to such lengths to capture him and bring him here.
Harry had tried to escape before; when he first came in, he ran away as soon as he got the chance.
He even staggered and ran all night, taking advantage of the middle of the night.
But it seemed like Tom had a tracking device on him, and he could always catch him easily.
Harry had had enough. Rather than being toyed with by Tom, he would rather choose his own way of dying, as that would be more dignified and meaningful.
It can also ruin Tom's plans.
Harry walked to the riverbank in a daze. He remembered Dumbledore's speech in the Great Hall after Voldemort's resurrection:
Can a person be brave when they are afraid?
"People can only be brave when they are afraid!"
Harry felt a fear within him; he didn't know if he was brave.
But he resolutely took a step forward and plunged into the River Styx.
The taste of death... seems to be nothing more than this.
