The Elder Wand, a Servant of Countless Masters
Department of Mysteries
As the most mysterious department of the United Kingdom Ministry of Magic, few people know that it existed before the Ministry of Magic was established.
How long is its history?
The Ministry of Magic was founded in the 17th century, while the Department of Mysteries had existed on this land a thousand years before its existence.
Back then, it wasn't called the Department of Mysteries; it was called the SP Foundation, which specialized in researching the mysterious forces shrouding this area.
No one knows when this power appeared, nor who left it behind.
All I know is that there are no strange things in this area.
for example:
The planted saplings will grow into towering trees overnight;
The mirages projected visions of the future, more powerful than even the most skilled Seer of the time;
The flowing water killed countless creatures, turning the Restricted Section into a no-man's-land...
Many years later, this power weakened slightly, allowing the wizard to approach and begin his research.
As time went by, many mysteries were gradually revealed:
Love, space, thought, time, death, and so on.
Most famously, he developed the "Hour-Reversal Charm" and created Time-Turner.
However, the Department of Mysteries was completely destroyed last summer after the Death Eaters attacked the area.
In particular, the Hall of Prophecy and the Time Room, along with the Time-Turner made over hundreds of years and the preserved Prophecy Orb, were all ground to dust.
However, this also led the Department of Mysteries to invest more resources.
The power that even Voldemort coveted must hold even more secrets.
In order to resume research as soon as possible, the Secretariat recruited a new group of Unspeakable staff.
Each Unspeakable has signed a secret spell, prohibiting them from revealing their work, research, or anything else here to outsiders.
That day, Luo Suo, a Unspeakable, was observing the stars in the Space Chamber when he suddenly felt a terrible impact from the ground.
His heart skipped a beat, thinking it was an attack by Death Eaters, and he hurriedly ran towards the Death Chamber from which the sound came.
The Death Chamber was very large, like a tiered classroom, with stone benches descending step by step, each step very steep.
In the very center is a stone pit, with a raised stone platform in the middle, upon which stands an archway.
This archway is one of the Restricted Section of the Department of Mysteries.
As soon as you get close to it, you will hear the calls of the dead coming from inside the archway, drawing the wizard inside.
The more a wizard has lost someone they cherish, the greater the impact.
During the Middle Ages, in that chaotic era, the Wizards' Council, the predecessor of the Ministry of Magic, conducted secret experiments on this.
They threw Magical Creatures, Puritans, and even dark wizards into it... but without exception, none of them ever returned.
After many people died, the experiment was stopped, and the archway was designated Restricted Section.
After entering the Death Chamber, Luo Suo witnessed a scene he would never forget:
A golden coffin appeared on the stone platform, and soon another golden coffin floated out, crashing heavily to the ground, the splattered liquid carrying a terrifying aura of death.
Luo Suo was dumbfounded; a coffin was actually floating out of the archway?
He suddenly remembered seeing a record in the archives:
Four golden coffins floated out and were taken away by Hufflepuff.
It's exactly the same as the scene before my eyes.
Bang!
The golden coffin was kicked open and landed on the ground with a loud thud.
There's someone still inside the coffin?!
Luo Suo turned and ran in terror, his mind racing, shouting at the same time:
"Help! The Four Founders have been resurrected!!"
"The Four Founders have been resurrected?"
William emerged from the golden coffin, somewhat surprised and uncertain, and said:
"Has something this exciting happened after I've been away from the Wizarding World for a while?"
Hermione, who lay in the same coffin as him, stood up and straightened her disheveled clothes.
She pondered for a moment, then said with a strange expression:
"You're not talking about us, are you?"
"..."
Well... jumping out of a coffin is indeed rather eerie.
At that moment, Harry also emerged shakily from the coffin, and was then drawn to the archway.
William quickly woke him up, and as he looked back at the archway, he was filled with emotion, never expecting to return to this place once again.
Battle of the Department of Mysteries last year, he talked with Dumbledore here for a long time, discussing the golden coffin and the Four Founders.
Back then, Ravenclaw and his two companions entered the Underworld, and finally sent the coffin out from here to take Hufflepuff into the Underworld.
Unexpectedly, he too has now emerged from here.
William was even more surprised to learn that this was Merlin's doing.
In other words, all the scattered "Prehistoric Mysteries" power in the entire Affairs Department were left behind by him.
After putting away the coffin, William didn't rush to leave. Instead, he led Hermione and Harry towards the locked room.
This room is arguably the most mysterious place in the Department of Mysteries.
No one could open it, because they were missing a key.
William ran his fingers over the door and noticed three small holes connected by a thin groove.
The key, the key!
Just then, a cacophony of footsteps sounded, and a group of Auror appeared, with Minister Bones surrounded in the center.
They were all alerted by Luo Suo and came to inspect the golden coffin.
But to my surprise, I saw William and Hermione.
The wizards were taken aback at first, then their expressions became excited.
Kingsley, the current Head of the Auror Office, was the first to loudly proclaim:
"William, you're back? That's wonderful!"
All the wizards in the United Kingdom knew that William and Hermione were not in the United Kingdom.
The reason is simple: they've been missing for almost a month and haven't shown their faces.
After that battle, William's reputation soared, and he was almost designated as Dumbledore's new Patronus.
With the Patronus gone, people naturally feel uneasy, and all sorts of speculations arise.
There were even rumors that he was killed by Voldemort.
Fortunately, in any case... William has finally returned.
As for who just said "the Four Founders have been resurrected"... who are the Four Founders?
After greeting everyone, William looked at Minister Bones and said:
"Dumbledore there; I need to see him immediately."
"I'll have Auror take you there immediately," Minister Bones said sternly.
William nodded.
Now that Harry has been brought back, Voldemort should... die.
Hogwarts
Headmaster's Office.
After viewing some of William's memories, Dumbledore stirred the Pensieve with his wand and fell into deep thought.
He was more interested in the strange old man than Death, Morgan, and Vivian.
When the headmaster heard that William hadn't run into Grindelwald, he looked somewhat disappointed again, as if he was quite worried about the man.
However, the most pressing issue is how to deal with Voldemort.
Killing him and ending this wizarding war... that's the most urgent thing to do.
Only by killing him could Dumbledore possibly enter the Underworld to find Grindelwald.
The two discussed the plan again, but it didn't last long.
This was all planned long ago. If Harry hadn't had that unexpected accident and been captured by Tom, Voldemort might already be dead.
To kill Voldemort, Harry will definitely have to get past him too.
William hesitated for a moment before speaking:
"Professor, I think Harry... may have already realized that he is Horcrux, and the soul in his forehead."
Dumbledore's hands trembled slightly. He took a deep breath and sighed:
"That's good, it actually makes things simpler."
It's certainly too simple... Telling Harry the truth directly and then sending him to his death would be an incredibly cruel thing to do.
Now that he was mentally prepared, it wasn't so difficult for him to speak.
William gazed at the old man's hunched figure and said with a pang of pity, "I'll go talk to Harry, Professor..."
"No." Dumbledore's blue eyes looked at William, and he said in a deep voice:
"William, I will have a deep talk with Harry and tell him the truth."
This was all planned long ago. If you want to hate someone, hate me. You're not allowed to tell anyone.
William remained silent for a moment, then brought up another matter.
"Professor, I want to make a wand from the Elder Wood vine that the Ravenclaw's Diadem was transformed into."
"Hmm?" Dumbledore, somewhat suspiciously, raising the Elder Wand in his hand.
"William, you can inherit this wand. I've already made plans to give it to you."
I believe you are capable of wielding its power without being controlled by the Elder Wand.
There's no need to waste such precious materials to create another wand.
William shook his head and said:
"Grindelwald went to kill Death, which means that Death will be a threat to us in the future."
The Elder Wand was also made by Death, and its characteristic is that it only obeys the strong.
If one day we really encounter Death, will the Elder Wand serve us, or become Death's servant?
Dumbledore frowned; he hadn't expected this.
However, this answer is inevitable.
The Elder Wand is the most disloyal of all beings; calling it a servant of the N family wouldn't be an exaggeration.
"And..." William turned to the side, gazing into the distance, and said softly:
"In my Divination two years ago, Professor Trelawney made a Prophecy using tarot cards, which I've been really interested in ever since."
"What Prophecy?" Dumbledore asked.
"Trelawney helped me Divination a Fool's Card," William recalled.
"On that card, there is a young man wearing a laurel wreath and gorgeous clothes, walking on the edge of a cliff."
Holding an hourglass in his left hand and carrying a long wooden stick on his right.
William paused, then continued:
Professor Trelawney said:
"The flower crown represents wisdom."
The hourglass represents the power of time in the process of transformation.
"The flower crown transformed into a wooden stick, and wisdom metamorphosed into power..."
William wrote down every Prophecy about Trelawney in his notebook and pondered it repeatedly.
He hadn't paid much attention to this Prophecy before, thinking it was just more nonsense the other person was spouting in class.
But after the battle with the Department of Mysteries, they became increasingly aware of the problem.
"I used the power of time in the Department of Mysteries to transform the Ravenclaw's Diadem into Elder Wood vines," William explained.
"Diadem is originally a floral wreath; if you want it to become a wooden stick, to transform wisdom into power, it can only be made into a magic wand."
William looked directly at Dumbledore and said:
"I believe Professor Trelawney's Prophecy more than the Elder Wand's submission to me!"
After all, Trelawney... is forever a goddess.
