Phoenix's Blessing
The flame barrier may seem sturdy, but it's impossible for it to withstand attacks for very long.
Fortunately, during this time, William brewed a large amount of Potions, all of which were stored in a small bag that had been enchanted with the Undetectable Extension Charm.
He pulled two bottles from his bag with his left hand and recklessly gulped them down. These were potions that could quickly restore his magic power, allowing him to last a little longer.
He threw out a few more white bottles, which flew over the flame barrier and landed in the dragon's breath. After a muffled explosion, a small amount of flame turned into blue smoke and dissipated.
William's pockets were like a treasure chest, constantly tossing out items that were gradually eroding the dragon's breath and reducing the pressure from the front.
A minute later, the black-robed wizard let out a soft exclamation. He had thought that the other party would be burned to ashes in an instant, but he did not expect that the other party could last for so long.
Clearly, a young wizard couldn't possibly possess such power.
But William knew his own situation. The dragon's breath compressed from top to bottom, its power seemingly diminishing, yet the flames' burning temperature remained undiminished. Breaking through his defenses was only a matter of time.
Why haven't the Gringotts guards arrived yet?!
William was getting anxious; he didn't want to die, especially with so many people behind him!
Three minutes later, he was still at the front, holding up that small barrier.
William's eyes were red and his arms were trembling, but the "Finite Incantatem" flame barrier was continuously compressed, turning into a narrow plane that was only a little over one centimeter thick.
William pursed his lips and gritted his teeth, blood still seeping from between his teeth, his mouth full of blood.
The black-robed wizard sneered, showing no intention of making a move. Instead, he sat calmly on the fire dragon's head, enjoying the scene before him.
He disliked death, but that didn't stop him from appreciating the scenes of others struggling and dying in despair.
For him, these were the most exquisite fireworks.
William used the last bit of magic he had left, his slightly bent arm straightened instantly, and he raised his wand, raising the barrier by half a meter.
Roar!
The fire dragon exhaled another breath of dragon fire.
William's wrist, where he was holding the wand, was bleeding from the impact. Although the entire mirror of fire did not shatter, a dent was forcefully created in the center of the mirror.
William finally couldn't hold on any longer.
He waited anxiously for five minutes, but neither the Gringotts guards nor the Auror arrived.
If it were just William alone, he could use Transfiguration and various other magic to fight back. Even if he couldn't turn the tide, he could at least hold out for a longer period of time.
But it's impossible to do now. Roy and his family are behind him, as are Hermione's family. He can't back down!
Is he going to die?
William turned to look at the people behind him, a forced smile playing on his lips. He wanted to apologize, saying that if he hadn't been there to store Galleon, this wouldn't have happened.
But with a mouthful of blood, he was unable to speak.
Phew!
Suddenly, a loud shout came from afar.
Flames suddenly erupted from the top of the distant stone pillar, and a deep red bird, as large as a swan, suddenly descended from the sky.
It had a long Winky tail, like a peacock's, and a pair of Winky claws. A second later, the large bird Accio straight toward William.
--Phoenix!
Fawkes flapped its wings, a sudden gust of wind arose, and all the flames converged toward it, forming a posture of worship, as if all the flames were being drawn.
It opened its mouth, like a glutton, and swallowed all the dragon's breath in one gulp.
Fawkes took flight again, landing on William's shoulder as it folded its two enormous wings, its warm body pressed against his cheek, its gaze fixed firmly on the black-robed wizard.
"What—?" the black-robed wizard exclaimed, glancing around before gasping for breath, "Dumbledore's here?!"
But Dumbledore did not appear.
The black-robed wizard burst into wild laughter again. His laughter was so loud that it shook the entire cave.
"Dumbledore thinks a phoenix can stop me from killing?!" The black-robed wizard stared at Fawkes. "Hmm, what... remarkable arrogance!"
He slammed his wand down, plunging it along the dragon's ear and straight into its head.
The fire dragon let out a mournful cry, its crimson beastly eyes turning gray and flashing with a chilling light.
"The Shadow Fire Scorching!"
The black-robed wizard clasped his hands together and placed them on the fire dragon's body.
The Ukrainian Ironbelly spewed flames again, but this time they were no longer crimson; instead, they were eerie black flames.
The black-robed wizard suddenly drew his wand and waved it like a musician. The black fire then transformed into seven or eight thick black pythons, which swam freely around him.
Just then, a sudden, unexpected wisp of wind appeared in front of William, and the proud Fawkes bowed his head slightly in acknowledgment.
An elderly man dressed in fashionable and avant-garde clothes and wearing sunglasses stood with his hands behind his back next to William, gazing at the black-robed wizard with a half-smile.
The black-robed figure atop the dragon's head had clearly noticed the suddenly appearing old man. He roared, "Dumbledore is gone, and you're nothing but a frail old man. How can you possibly stop me?!"
Nicolas Flamel ignored the black-robed wizard's threats, and simply looked up at the phoenix that had taken flight again, Fawkes in a large circle above everyone's heads.
"I haven't made a move in almost half a century. I can only hold out for a very short time. Seize the opportunity, Fawkes. I'll give you the time it takes to sing a song to unleash your blessing."
He pulled out a wand made of Applewood and clam shell, and countless blue rays of light shot out like fireworks.
The black-robed wizard flipped his wand and aimed it at the cave ceiling. The cave, already filled with black flames, was like a pot of boiling water being fueled, and the countless black snakes that had not yet fallen became even more powerful and robust.
Even the black fire that had already taken root on the ground instantly flared up several times in intensity.
A phoenix suddenly appeared above William's head.
Fawkes flapped his wings, Ventus, and William's robe billowed and billowed.
Then, Dumbledore's phoenix began to sing a strange song, and its entire body shone brightly as if it were burning intensely.
--The Phoenix's Blessing!
With each line sung, the phoenix spat out a golden flame from its mouth, which swirled around the cave. In the end, a total of nineteen golden flames wrapped around Fawkes's burning body and crashed down together.
William had assumed that Fawkes would have to fend off the black-robed wizard, but to his utter surprise, the flames were heading straight for him!
The flames quickly enveloped William, and from a distance, he appeared to be shrouded in a strange, golden lake.
William struggled for a moment, but he couldn't break free of the cage no matter what he did. It was as if a huge lid weighing a thousand pounds had been placed around the flames, which could not be lifted or removed by human power.
William's breathing became increasingly difficult. He felt his magical power surging, and he desperately needed a outlet to release this evil fire, or he would burst.
"Hasai Ketisitan Sakesi!"
William recited a complex incantation. This was a spell he had seen in the "Three Books of Occult Philosophy." Previously, he had no magical power to activate it, but now everything was going smoothly.
Fueled by the flames of Fawkes, the lightning bolt, which should have been purple, was now surrounded by a ring of golden light.
The magnificent purple-gold lightning bolt stretched out in a winding arc, its momentum like a rainbow, before colliding with the black serpent.
In an instant, the cave erupted in chaos as lightning bolts collided, sparking countless bursts of light and sparks.
