The Legendary Simp Appears
When William woke that morning, his head was still foggy. He kept thinking back to the terrifying three-headed dog in his dream.
Bobocha, who had been sleeping on his chest, was nowhere to be found. Perhaps Bobocha had gone to say goodbye to Drogon.
William got up and dressed. After washing up, he used a Shrinking Charm to shrink his packed luggage and put it in his pocket.
He looked at the ticket in his hand.
-Platform 9?.
That was what the ticket said. Ridiculous as it looked, William had already asked Cedric exactly where to find it.
His little sister Anne was very reluctant to see him go and looked glum. Most importantly, she wanted to go to Hogwarts too.
Only when William promised to write to her every week did the little girl smile.
By the time they arrived at King's Cross Station, it was already nine o'clock.
The station was busy at that hour. After saying goodbye to his family, William carried Bobocha's cage over to a wall between platforms nine and ten.
Ahead of him, a group of strange people dressed in extremely unconventional fashion-suits on the outside and wizard robes underneath-had already passed through the wall and vanished.
Unfortunately, they had been spotted!
A Muggle came over. He was a burly man with a piercing gaze, and from some distance away, he suddenly picked up speed.
Who would have thought a man that strong could move so fast? He was practically a match for Bolt.
He flew along like a wild duck, swift and elusive as a god, skimming the waves with dainty steps, dust rising from his silk stockings... and slammed headfirst into the wall.
William: "..."
That suicidal act naturally drew the attention of many Muggles, and two guards hurried over.
It was the first time they had ever encountered someone trying to stage an accident at a train station.
Then you should have hit a train! What's the point of hitting a wall?!
Just then, two people appeared out of thin air on the platform. They wore ordinary clothes and held wands, casting spells on the people around them.
Afterward, they cast a spell on the unlucky fellow who had hit the wall, erasing his memory of passing through it.
When all that was done, one of them, a black man, signaled that William could go through.
William thanked him and, escorted by the two, carried the cage through the wall and reached the Hogwarts Express platform.
A deep-red Victorian-style steam locomotive stood beside the platform, which was packed with travelers.
A sign on the train read: Hogwarts Express, eleven o'clock.
William looked back. Where the ticket barrier had been, there was now a wrought-iron archway with the words Platform 9? above it.
Thick smoke from the steam locomotive curled above the chattering crowd, while cats of every color weaved around people's feet.
The first few carriages were already packed with students. Some leaned out of the windows to speak to their families, while others were fooling around in their seats.
Carrying the cage, William found a compartment near the back of the train.
A girl was already sitting inside. She was of Chinese descent, with her hair in two ponytails, and she held a copy of Quidditch Through the Ages.
How unusual. This was the first time William had met a girl of Chinese descent in Britain.
Especially on the train to Hogwarts.
William did remember Ollivander mentioning Mahoutokoro School of Magic. He had looked it up afterward and found that it was the only known school of magic in Asia.
William stepped inside and politely asked, "Is anyone sitting here?"
The girl shook her head.
William thanked her, sat down, and let Bobocha out of the cage.
Bobocha walked out slowly, gave a lazy yawn, and lay down beside the train window, where there was plenty of sunlight.
William looked past Bobocha and suddenly spotted the Weasley family.
Mrs. Weasley was reaching out to brush a boy's fringe aside.
This was Mrs. Weasley's youngest son, Ron. William had heard George and Fred mention him, but he wouldn't be starting school until the following year.
"Ron, I didn't realize your hair had gotten so long."
Ron tried to dodge, but Mrs. Weasley grabbed him.
"Don't worry, I'll give you a lovely haircut. A buzz cut-how about that?"
"I don't want one!" Ron struggled, looking thoroughly unhappy.
"I suggest shaving his head. It's simple and sharp!" one of the twins said.
"I don't want that! It's ugly! Why don't you get one?" Ron shouted in protest.
"We're going off to school. Mum won't be able to keep an eye on us," Fred said with a grin. "Little Ron, you've still got another year to wait."
"Who says I can't keep an eye on you just because you're at school?"
Mrs. Weasley kissed each twin on the cheek and warned them, "The two of you had better behave yourselves this year.
If Percy sends me another owl saying you've been wandering around at night... or throwing Dungbombs at the Slytherin table..."
"Throw Dungbombs? At the Slytherin table?!" Fred stared at Mrs. Weasley in "shock."
George burst out laughing. "I have to say... Mum, you're a genius!"
"Thanks for the idea, Mum. We've learned another trick."
Mrs. Weasley was too angry to speak.
As a whistle sounded, the Weasley brothers headed toward the train.
William waved, and Fred shouted, "Hey, William, we'll come find you in a minute!"
William nodded and waved to Mrs. Weasley as well.
Mrs. Weasley called out, "Keep an eye on them for me! Write to me if anything happens!"
The train began to move, its engine going "woo, woo, woo," giving Bobocha a fright.
William suddenly realized that this kind of train did have its advantages. At least it completely prevented unlicensed taxi drivers from crowding the school gates...
"Hey, hello. I'm Cho Chang, and I'm from a Muggle family. What about you?"
As the train started moving, the girl in the compartment put down her book and spoke to him.
"Hello, I'm William Stark. I'm from a Muggle family too. Just call me William."
William reached out and shook her hand.
They exchanged a few casual words, and then Cho went back to her book.
William also took out a copy of the Standard Book of Spells, Grade 2.
The train journey would be long, and he needed some books to pass the time.
Cho raised an eyebrow and glanced at William. "Are you a second-year student?" she asked in puzzlement.
William shook his head. "I'm a new student, just like you."
"Oh," Cho said, and fell silent.
She had clearly taken William for a child putting on airs. After all, what new student would read a second-year spellbook?
A moment later, there was a snickering sound.
At some point, Bobocha had left the comfortable sunny spot and climbed onto the table. Tail hanging down, Bobocha stared intently into a cage with a pair of blue eyes, as though having found a new toy.
Inside the cage was a snow-white rabbit, Cho's pet.
Claws sprang from Bobocha's paw pads, and the poor rabbit let out a yelp. So frightened was it that it fell straight off the upper shelf in its cage.
The rabbit hit its head on its water bowl, and a carrot landed on top of it. It promptly passed out.
Bobocha: "..."
Cho hurriedly took a hamburger out of her bag. It was her lunch.
She tore off a small piece and waved it around, hoping to lure Bobocha away and save her poor little rabbit.
But Bobocha only glanced at the hamburger, gave a rather disdainful meow, then slowly walked over to the window and began licking that long orange fur.
Cho's face turned bright red.
"Bobocha is a little picky about food," William said apologetically.
"Definitely! I suggest you let Bobocha go hungry for a few days..."
Before Cho could finish, the door opened again.
This time, it was someone William knew-Cedric.
Cedric said, "William, the twins told me you were here by yourself.
Come on, I'm in a compartment over there. I've already saved you a seat..."
He took William's hand, but before he could finish, he caught sight of Cho across from him, working hard to revive her little rabbit.
His face instantly turned bright red, and he stammered, "Who's this?"
"Cho Chang. I just met her," William quickly explained. "By the way, what were you saying?"
Cedric cleared his throat and said slowly, "Nothing. It's just that the compartment over there is too crowded, and there aren't enough seats. I was planning to join you in this one."
"..."
