Please Welcome the Next Dream Chaser
William thought for a moment, then cast Disillusionment Charm on himself and stood there without leaving.
Hermione and Neville were both in the nighttime parade; if he left, they would likely be discovered.
A moment later, he finally saw Hermione at the very front.
The girl, dressed in pink pajamas and wearing her comfortable running shoes, pushed her speed to the limit.
--As long as she runs fast enough, she definitely won't be the one caught.
"Follow me, it's safe this way." Hermione said, glancing back at the moon as she ran.
The people behind her ran towards the Restricted Section.
"You annoying freshmen, wandering around in the middle of the night! I won't let you escape!" Peeves followed behind them.
"The students aren't sleeping anymore, over here!" Peeves shouted happily. "Where's that big idiot Filch?!"
"Shut up, Peeves!" Ron yelled.
Peeves made a face, but continued to relentlessly chase after the group.
Hermione finally reached the end of the road. Unable to see William, she reached into her pocket.
"Oh no, I forgot my wand!"
Ron shoved Hermione aside roughly and shook the doorknob. "Damn it, the door's locked! This is the safe place you were talking about?!"
"Give me the wand!" Hermione snatched the wand from Harry's hand.
But Peeves had already gotten close to the group; he was carrying two rubber balloons, which was why his flight speed had slowed down.
"Hehe--This is the dragon dung compost I stole, and I even added some Dungbomb. Hope you guys have fun."
Peeves laughed loudly and threw the balloon down from mid-air.
Large amounts of liquid poured down, emitting an extremely foul odor. The group was on the verge of becoming the next McLaggen, or even worse.
Just then, everyone's robes began to flutter wildly without any wind.
William raised his hand and waved his wand. All the liquids visibly stopped, then drew a semi-circle, forming seven layers that spread out rapidly like a fan.
Hermione was startled; she hadn't expected there to be another person beside her.
The girl staggered and nearly fell. William caught her by the waist with one hand, raised the other, and continued waving his wand, whispering, "Water Jets."
Under William's control of his wand, a rain of arrows swept over them.
A dozen or so water arrows instantly filled the air and all struck Peeves.
He flew backward in pain, but every five meters he flew, a fan-shaped beam of light shot out, for a total of seven rounds.
Peeves moved away from the corridor, but his curses could still be heard.
William whispered in Hermione's ear, "Don't tell anyone I'm here."
He was planning to go to the Restricted Section to get the Potions and really didn't want to deal with Harry and the others.
William's warm breath gently brushed against Hermione's temples, making her blush and feel a tickle in her ears.
Even without William saying a word, she knew who had used the Disillusionment Charm to hide beside her; that faint scent of conditioner was all too familiar.
Everyone stared at Hermione in shock, because what she had just done really looked like she was casting a spell.
Hermione nodded stiffly, tilting her head. "Hurry up, come in, Filch is coming."
Hermione tapped the lock with Harry's wand and whispered, "Alohomora!"
With a click, the door suddenly opened.
The group rushed in, Hermione paused for a few seconds before closing the door.
"Which way did they run off, Peeves?" Filch's voice came from afar.
"Hurry up and tell me."
"I'm looking for those damned guys too. How dare a little wizard attack the great Peeves! I won't let him get away with this!"
Filch and Peeves arrived at the door and checked it over. Just then, a crashing sound came from further away.
"They're over there, they can't escape." Filch rushed over.
William breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed the twins had lured them away.
"They're gone," Harry whispered. "I think we'll be fine. Move away, Neville! Don't keep tugging at my sleeve."
Ron also began to tremble in Harry's robes, gesturing for him to turn around and look.
"What's the matter?"
Harry turned around and Chuchu saw a huge three-headed dog staring at them with cross-eyed glare; its enormous mouth was less than a meter away.
"Harry..." Ron's legs trembled, "Are we... dreaming?"
"I think... maybe."
The three-headed dog roared, and the entire ceiling shook; they finally knew it wasn't a dream.
"Calm down!" Hermione shouted, reaching out her hand tentatively. "Fluffy? Remember me? The one who patted your head with William and the others..."
William rolled his eyes. Hermione's tone seemed to say, "Little Fluffy, I used to hold you when you were little, do you remember me?"
But Fluffy squinted and stared intently at Hermione, as if he recognized her.
Hermione wanted to continue talking to Fluffy, but she felt someone grab her hand.
She looked down and saw a sheepskin map in her hand, covered with names.
Harry and Ron tried to go over and take a look, but Hermione suddenly slammed the map shut, so fast it almost hit Ron in the face.
The girl carefully rolled up the map and put it in her pocket.
She raised her pointed chin, clapped her hands, and said happily, "Let's go, we won't run into Filch again this time."
Harry and Ron both looked at Hermione with confusion, wondering where her confidence came from.
However, from Hermione chasing away Peeves to calming Cerberus... they discovered for the first time that this girl seemed to be more than just good at studying; she was also very skilled in magic and nighttime activities.
This feeling is similar to Hermione being an annoying academic genius during the day, but transforming into Wonder Woman and fighting for justice at night.
Her public persona collapsed too quickly and too completely!
After the others left, William opened the trapdoor and used Slowing Charm to jump down.
Perhaps fearing theft, no one replenished the Devil's Snare, so William had to jump down himself each time.
The journey was smooth sailing, and William arrived at the checkpoint set up by Professor Snape.
This time, there was an extra piece of paper and a bottle of return Potions on the table.
William picked up the paper, only to see it written in scribbled handwriting, "The cooking steps are on the back! Don't come again!!"
William quickly flipped to the back, which was covered with detailed instructions on how to cook the ingredients.
No wonder Professor Snape forbade him to come again. This Potions takes seven or eight months to brew, and William came to collect it every day, so the professor quickly ran out of stock.
"Why didn't you just give it to me earlier? All this fuss."
William downed the Potions for his return journey in one gulp, then casually stuffed the Potions on the table into his bag before turning and leaving.
Upon reaching the flying key, William couldn't resist casting Doubling Charm and Fire-Making Spell on it.
Anyway, he won't be coming anymore.
Consider it a gift for the next dreamer.
Who will be the lucky one?
I'm really looking forward to it!
