Quirrell's Great Disaster
Overall, the salaries and benefits for Hogwarts teachers are quite good.
The job includes meals and accommodation, two extended holidays throughout the year, and the salary is so-so, but it doesn't encourage excessive spending; you save almost everything you earn each month.
This job is perfect for unemployed wizards who have just graduated and have no savings; it's also a great place to coast along and do nothing.
Of course, university professors also have many other forms of unseen illicit income, such as purchasing teaching equipment, buying herb seeds, and acquiring herbs...
Snape and Professor Sprout were experts in this regard... They both made their fortunes by exploiting the school, embarking on a unique path of "some wizards getting rich first."
Trelawney, on the other hand, relied on only two things for her teaching: Prophecy Orb and tea leaves.
Although the Prophecy Orb is frequently "broken" and tea is brewed and drunk regularly, it doesn't mean that Professor Trelawney has a chance to escape poverty.
As a seasoned homebody, besides hiding in the North Tower every day to "binge-watch TV shows" using Prophecy Orb, the time she walks the most is when she goes downstairs to the kitchen late at night to steal food.
Even going to the playground to watch Quidditch Match is a short trip that she plans for a long time.
If teaching materials were lacking, Professor Trelawney never went to buy them herself, but instead asked "Auntie" Professor McGonagall to help her go out and purchase them.
Therefore, Trelawney had absolutely no opportunity to falsify accounts, nor did she have the energy to do so.
But, to put it another way, Professor Trelawney was a witch who loved to indulge in pleasures; her favorite drink was sherry, which she drank like mineral water every day.
This thing is ridiculously expensive, and the school kitchen doesn't even buy it, so Trelawney has to pay for it herself every month.
She lived paycheck to paycheck for eleven years; if the school hadn't provided room and board, she would have starved to death on the streets long ago.
This is why Trelawney hasn't saved much money over the years.
Professor McGonagall, on the other hand... she collected all the empty bottles Trelawney had drunk over the past eleven years and sold them as scrap, raising a large sum of money for the school to purchase a batch of Prophecy Orb.
This made Professor McGonagall, a financial (and frugal) expert, quite proud for a long time.
Taking advantage of this "work injury," Professor Trelawney quickly requested a raise.
"Add it if you want, the money's coming from the School Governor anyway..." Dumbledore waved his hand and tripled Trelawney's pay.
Snape, standing to the side, looked at Dumbledore with a malicious gaze, thinking to himself, "Could that old liar be the Headmaster's illegitimate daughter?"
As everyone knows, Dumbledore is a lifelong bachelor, so it wouldn't be too surprising if he had an illegitimate daughter.
The professors were discussing salaries, trying to imply to Dumbledore with prices soaring recently, they could also get a raise.
Quirrell remained wary and paid little attention to the matter of wages.
He squinted, glancing around the hall out of the corner of his eye, and noticed something was wrong; it seemed like there were more people watching him from all sides.
That look was like he was looking at Galleon!
He took a sip of milk and then stabbed a large piece of cheese with his fork.
Dumbledore concern, "Professor Quirrell, have you ever had sausage? It tastes wonderful, if you don't mind..."
"No... I don't mind... Thank you, Headmaster." Professor Quirrell cautiously declined, fearing that Dumbledore might have added a special liquid.
--Veritaserum.
He suddenly had a bad feeling, and this premonition grew stronger.
"Never mind then." Dumbledore shrugged, glanced at the cheese, swallowed the sausage in one gulp, and a hint of a smile flashed in his eyes.
Professor Quirrell swallowed the cheese.
"Gulugulu."
Strange noises echoed in the hall.
Professor Quirrell looked like a little goldfish, Gulugulu and blowing Rainbow Bubbles.
The bubble floated in mid-air, originally only a few centimeters in diameter, but suddenly expanded to tens of centimeters.
Through the colorful halos of the bubbles, you can see different objects rolling inside each one.
Having been attacked in class before, Snape immediately stood up alertly and moved away.
He raised his wand, and a red light popped the bubble.
Bang!
The bubble above Quirrell's head burst, and a large amount of cold water poured down from mid-air with a "whoosh".
He was soaked to the bone.
Soon, the first bubble triggered a chain reaction, and the only sound in the Great Hall was the sound of explosions.
The bubbles contain not only cool water, but also various creatures from the Black Lake.
An octopus fell down, its long tentacles clinging tightly to the back of Quirrell's head, as if hoping to have a chat with him about the Father and Savior— Cthulhu.
Quirrell tried to pull the octopus off, but a crab clamped his hand, and several giant leeches burrowed into the scarf, seemingly hiding delicious blood.
Professor McGonagall was stunned. She exclaimed angrily, "Headmistress, this kind of prank... it's outrageous!"
Dumbledore shrugged. "I don't know who did it! But I just reminded Professor Quirrell to eat the sausages, but he insisted on eating the cheese..."
Professor McGonagall was speechless. Was this a warning?
McGonagall's stern gaze swept over William and the twins, who were quickly jotting down relevant data.
That's right, this is indeed a prank product invented by William, a snack called "Rainbow Bubbles".
If you accidentally swallow it, you'll spit out bubbles. If you pop it, smoke might come out of your head, you might get wet, or beans might fall and hit you... It all depends on your luck.
Clearly, Professor Quirrell's Rainbow Bubbles are an enhanced version.
This was undoubtedly an experimental product, and Quirrell became the first test subject.
Professor Quirrell frantically ran back to his office and missed the first class.
However, for him, this was just the beginning of something crazy; William and his men had already raised the bounty to one hundred Galleon.
Whoever can show everyone what's under Professor Quirrell's scarf will get to take all 100 Galleon.
This is a huge sum of money; many adult wizards don't even earn that much in a month.
Encouraged by the huge reward, a large number of students are fiercely competing, wildly displaying their long-suppressed talents, and constantly playing pranks.
Lee Jordan sprayed golden dye on Quirrell's head and released the Niffler he had borrowed from Fred.
The Niffler, seemingly smelling catnip, jumped behind Quirrell and nearly stole his "golden" scarf.
However, Quirrell used magic in time, Niffler angrily bit his head many times and frantically hit the back of his head.
One after another Dungbomb and Stink Pellets were thrown into the Defence Against Dark Magic classroom; this was just basic stuff.
Soon, chanting the Bubble-Head Charm" became a new trend among students. This ensured they had their own fresh air, but it also made them look odd, like they had a goldfish bowl upside down on their heads.
Using the Puffapod William gave him, Cedric worked through the night to make a batch of fake wands.
This wand, once held in your hand, is like a pea shooter, constantly spitting out peas.
These Pea Wand sold out instantly.
Walking down the corridor, you could see a dozen or so students wielding Pea Wand, using the advantageous terrain to ambush Quirrell!
This is the real-life version of PUBG!
Winning is the most important thing; even being a "Voldemort" isn't so easy.
Peeves joined the fray, shrieking and laughing wildly as he flew over the school, overturning tables, knocking over statues and vases, and smashing them at Quirrell.
But a professor is a professor; despite his swollen face, he remained steadfast and refused to take off his scarf.
However, he now wears a thick layer of armor when he goes out, like an armored Champion!
Under this frenzied offensive, Christmas arrived quickly.
