The Strongest Wand!
Christmas is approaching, Hogwarts is covered with several feet of snow, while the Black Lake is frozen solid.
In the morning, after William and his companions finished their meal, they left the castle, intending to go to the Black Lake to catch a Merpeople.
If you only look at this suggestion, you might think it's the twins' crazy idea, but actually they're being wrong.
The two were busy figuring out how to remove Quirrell's scarf and had no idea about catching any Merpeople.
This was Cedric's suggestion; he insisted that Christmas was a wonderful holiday and that things should be done to create a festive atmosphere.
So he suggested fishing for Merpeople, hanging them on the Christmas tree as fish models, and then releasing them back after the dinner.
Don't be fooled by Cedric's seemingly honest demeanor; he's actually quite cunning.
His real intention was to capture the Merpeople and then pluck a few hairs to make a wand core.
Cedric had never tried Merpeople hair before, and his curiosity kicked in again.
He didn't want to take the risk alone, so he dragged William and the others along, so that everyone would lose points together.
William believed that Cedric would eventually die from his own reckless behavior, either from being beaten to death by someone or by the Magical Creatures whose fur he was pulling.
Can Merpeople hair be used to make magic wands?
Walking down the street, the wind howled, and William tightened the collar of his thick coat.
He regretted it as soon as he stepped out the door; it was so cold outside, and he wished he could go back to his dorm and get into bed right away.
"Of course, even centaur or Veela hair will do. However, it's very sensitive, so Mr. Ollivander rarely uses these things."
"I'd love to try it; maybe there will be a clever reaction," Cedric said earnestly.
He also used the armpit hair of Troll, the Troll William killed.
Unfortunately, nobody buys the wand with the Troll armpit hair core; it's too slow to react, as if its intelligence is offline.
William chuckled, "Actually, I also have a brilliant idea about the materials for a wand. I've been thinking about it for a long time and would like you to help me make one."
"What combination?" Cedric rubbed his hands together, not caring whether he could cast the spell or not, he just wanted to make it first.
Unlike Mr. Ollivander, he doesn't only like to use a few types of materials.
"The outer material is a polyethylene shell, and the core is two layers of erbium-doped silicon dioxide with different refractive indices."
Let me tell you, the benefits of such a cane core are also obvious.
The spells emitted from the hand can be conducted through total reflection within the wand, not only reducing losses but also amplifying their power, making them even more potent than those from the Six Roots!
This is the most powerful magic wand!
"..."
Although Cedric understood each of William's individual words, he didn't understand a single sentence when they were put together.
Cedric decided to consult Professor Burbage Charity Bubbaggie in his next Muggle Studies about what polyethylene was and what erbium-doped silicon dioxide was.
Professor Burbage is an expert in this field. He reportedly studied in the United States for seven years, graduated from Claydon University, and holds seven the Doctor.
When Cedric asked what an atomic bomb was, Professor Burbage told him it was a special kind of Christmas firework with incredibly beautiful patterns.
When the twin brothers found out, they even wanted to buy one to release at Hogwarts.
Just as they were about to leave the castle, they ran into Professor Quirrell.
Amidst the swirling snow, Quirrell was encased in a thick metal shell, with only his two small, short hands peeking out.
From a distance, someone who didn't know better might think he had stolen someone's trash can and was wearing it on his body.
"The armor... is too heavy... inconvenient," Quirrell stammered smugly. "Don't even think about... attacking... me again!"
The twin brothers, provoked by Professor Quirrell, used magic to control giant snowballs and smash them onto Quirrell's head.
But the thick shell blocked their attacks.
Professor Quirrell squinted his swollen eyes and took a bite of the black bread in his hand. He no longer ate the school food, fearing that the students would drug him.
Quirrell chuckled, then suddenly burst into tears of sorrow.
"There won't be a next time, there won't be. I'll be leaving soon... hehe."
The group thought Professor Quirrell had gone mad, fearing they were being framed, and hurriedly left.
After leaving the castle, George said dejectedly, "It seems no one will be able to claim this bounty."
William has raised the bounty to 120 Galleon; if no one manages to claim it, the money will ultimately be his.
"You expected this to happen, didn't you?" George asked.
William nodded.
If Quirrell really wanted to hide what was under the scarf, it was far too easy for the young wizards to see.
As for why he was injured... Quirrell may have the strength, but he had previously acted timidly and pretended to be useless. In order not to expose himself, he could not show his extraordinary strength and could only endure attacks.
"We're planning to stay here for Christmas and continue the raid on Quirrell," Fred laughed.
The Mr. and Mrs. Weasley are going to Romania to visit Charlie; the twins and Ron won't be coming home.
With the twins sending so Galleon back every month, their family's situation improved considerably, and they were able to afford train tickets for several people.
But Mrs. Weasley insisted on going to scout ahead first, as the area seemed to have turned into a runaway Jurassic Park.
"Don't be silly, do you think Professor Quirrell will be at school for Christmas?" William shook his head. "He'll definitely be leaving school to recover from his injury."
"Damn it!" The twins felt extremely regretful for missing this opportunity.
As the group approached the Black Lake, they encountered Hagrid again.
Hagrid carried a large fir tree on his shoulder and walked quickly toward the castle.
"Hagrid, do you need help?" William called out.
Hagrid poked his head out from among the branches, a smile spreading across his hairy face, "No need, I can do it, it's easy."
Hagrid hummed a cheerful tune and asked happily, "Where are you all going?"
"Let's go... on a shopping spree," George lied.
They didn't want Hagrid to find out they'd gone to the Black Lake to catch Merpeople.
Magical Creatures are all Hagrid's favorites; what if a Merpeople is also his good friend?
Hagrid looked at the group strangely and solemnly warned, "Whatever you do, don't go into the Forbidden Forest. It's very dangerous there."
"We're not going," Cedric waved his hand. "We'll just take a walk around Black Lake."
"Alright." Hagrid nodded, as long as they didn't go into the Forbidden Forest.
"Let's play for a while and then go to the restaurant; it's beautifully decorated. Professor McGonagall and Professor Flitwick are there, busy setting up the Christmas decorations. You'll be amazed."
The group readily agreed.
"Oh, right, have you seen Harry?" Hagrid patted himself, shaking off the thick layer of snow.
"Harry should be in Potions Class at this hour, right?" Fred said with a sly grin.
"Yeah, Harry's favorite Potions Class, the old bat will be there to pamper him by the cauldron," George said gleefully.
Hagrid sighed, seemingly worried.
