Grindelwald's Daughter
This is a gloomy and eerie medieval-style living room, with moving figures and strange Runes on the tapestries. In the corner is a large crystal ball, but it has completely dimmed.
William sat on the sofa, holding a thick book in his hand.
On the cover of the book was a lock, and on the raised part was printed a phoenix.
William is using this book to have a cross-continental video call with Nicolas.
William and Hermione did not return to the Ritz Hotel. The Auror had chased them all afternoon, and they had finally shaken them off; there was no need for them to walk right into a trap.
They are currently in Nicolas's safe house in Paris.
"Nicolas, the decor of this house is really not your style," William joked.
Why do you say that?
Nicolas was lying on a bench, wearing huge sunglasses and with a parasol over her head.
He's obviously on a beach vacation!
It was already evening where William was, but it was still daytime where Nicolas was.
"Lifeless," William said after a moment's thought.
"Because this house hasn't been lived in for a long time, only the House-elf come to clean it regularly."
Nicolas took a sip of coconut juice and laughed, "I also felt a sense of dread, which is why I've always been reluctant to stay there."
"The decor is so outdated," William commented. "Look at this place, it's still in a medieval style, it feels a bit like a crazy museum."
"That's just how aesthetics were back then. When I was decorating, I was quite avant-garde," Nicolas said nostalgically.
"It's not that I don't want to change it, it's just that it's my second portrait, and he won't let me change it. He absolutely loves that weird style."
The second portrait of Nicolas was painted when he was between one hundred and two hundred years old, and it represents his personality at that time.
Nicolas currently has six portraits, one for each hundred years... As time goes by, each person's personality changes.
He's now quite different, completely unlike the first painting.
William thought about it and realized that it felt a bit like Doctor Who. Every time Docto was reborn, although he was still the same person, his personality would change.
"By the way, why did you go to Hawaii again?"
"There's a nice meteorite crater here. The different materials used can affect alchemical items, so I wanted to take a look," Nicolas said casually.
William believed that seeing the meteorite crater was a pretense; the real purpose was to spray water.
"Tom should be in United States by now, right?"
Nicolas gazed at the shimmering sea and nodded, "Pretty much. Probably thinking about how to sneak into the Ilvermorny School of Witchcraft and Wizardry."
"Are you deliberately trying to let Tom find Slytherin's Wand?"
"Yes, William," Nicolas readily admitted, "I've searched Ilvermorny so many times, but I haven't found it."
This means that Slytherin left behind magic on his wand that I am unaware of, which only his successor can obtain.
"How can I get that wand if Tom doesn't find it?"
Nicolas is waiting to obtain the Deathly Hallows and unlock his Book of Alchemy.
"As for Albus, he wants Tom to find what Slytherin left behind and sever his spiritual connection with Voldemort, otherwise neither Little Tom nor Old Tom will die."
William nodded slightly; he had roughly guessed the principal's intention.
Dumbledore was very old and unwilling to use the Philosopher's Stone to prolong his life, so he planned to completely eliminate Voldemort before he died!
Therefore, Tom's rise to power and Voldemort's resurrection were both unavoidable, otherwise these two Horcrux symbiotes could not have been killed.
"Alright, I won't disturb your vacation with Hermione anymore. Young people should cherish the opportunity to spend time together." Nicolas winked playfully.
"By the way, since you've shown such disrespect to the French Ministry of Magic, they definitely won't let you off the hook."
These people are always stingy; I was once wanted by the entire city. So, be extra careful.
William nodded.
"But don't worry," Nicolas said calmly. "If anything happens, Albus and I Albus cover for you."
William closed the Phoenix Book and put it in a cabinet.
Looking around at the medieval-style decor, William felt like he was in a haunted house. He sat on the sofa for a minute before returning to his Safety Watch.
Hermione had just finished showering, her dark hair still damp and clinging to her flushed cheeks. She was drying her hair with a towel in her room.
What did Nicolas say?
When she saw William arrive, Hermione handed the boy a wooden comb from the table.
William skillfully combed her hair and gently explained, "I found out. Nicolas knows the witch and the python."
The snake's name was Nagini; she was a witch who inherited the Blood Curse.
"The Blood Curse?" Hermione asked, tilting her head in confusion.
"A kind of extremely malevolent Dark Magic; wizards afflicted by this curse are called Maledictus."
Maledictus can switch between wizard and animal forms, but eventually they will completely revert to animal form, and then completely... forget their wizard memories.
Hermione looked incredulous. "There's such a thing as Dark Magic?"
"That's right." William nodded slightly. "Nagini was a witch more than sixty years ago."
She was enslaved and forced to perform in Mysterious Circus, but later escaped with a powerful Obscurial named Credence.
Young wizards, in an attempt to escape their doom, may suppress their magical powers. However, due to a lack of guidance, they fail to learn how to harness and control their power, which can lead to the emergence of parasites— the Obscurus, dark magical forces.
This is a powerful but extremely unstable and difficult-to-control form of Dark Magic. It can detach from its host and then attack others.
William continued, "Finally, Grindelwald took Credence away to deal with Dumbledore."
Nagini and Newt went to Hogwarts to seek Dumbledore's help. However, even the headmaster was unable to break the Blood Curse.
After Grindelwald's defeat, she disappeared. She should now be completely transformed into a snake.
William waved his wand, and golden smoke formed a beautiful Asian witch, constantly switching between the forms of a python and a human.
Hermione paused for a moment, then asked, "Where is the witch who was with Nagini?"
"The witch is someone important," William said mysteriously. "Her name is Arya Vinda Grindelwald."
"Grindelwald? The Dark Lord Grindelwald that she and Dumbledore defeated..."
"It is said that Arya is the daughter of Vinda Rosier and Grindelwald."
Grindelwald has a daughter?
"I don't know, it could just be Rosier's adopted child," William said. "Nicolas told me that Grindelwald's love wasn't for Rosier."
Vinda Rosier was Grindelwald's subordinate and his most loyal follower. In terms of their relationship, it was somewhat similar to that of Bellatrix and Voldemort.
However, even if Grindelwald didn't Rosier, having a child wouldn't be a problem.
Falling in love with someone and being in love with someone are two different things.
"Grindelwald's daughter took Newt's trunk. What is she planning to do?"
After her hair was combed, Hermione sat cross-legged on the bed, and William used his wand to blow-dry her hair.
William took a deep sniff of Hermione's brown curly hair, which was pulled back, and noticed a faint, pleasant fragrance.
"It's not quite clear yet, what kind of plan they're carrying out. Maybe it's a plan to destroy Paris Saint-Germain," William chuckled.
Did Grindelwald's daughter accomplish what Grindelwald couldn't?
That's a little exciting!
Happy Labor Day!
By the way, I'm asking for recommendation votes and monthly tickets.
