The truth can sometimes be deadly!
William is definitely not the kind of person who takes information from a prostitute and then doesn't want to pay for it.
As Tonks's friend, William had a responsibility and an obligation to help her... grow up.
In his view, being deceived appropriately could make Tonks abandon his naivety.
As the saying goes, how can one become magnanimous without experiencing the harsh realities of society?
An Auror only becomes vigilant after being scammed many times; otherwise, their career is not far from being over.
In short: Silly girl, you need to be more careful!
The three of them rode in Thestral carriage and quickly returned to school.
As soon as we entered the castle, flames burst into the air, and a phoenix suddenly appeared.
As the principal's designated courier, Fawkes's job was usually to notify people to go to the Headmaster's Office.
It's definitely classy enough; otherwise, the principal would have to use the school's loudspeaker to call students to his office.
Ahem, students, please note that Mr. Stark, from Class 3, Grade 4, is to come to the Headmaster's Office immediately.
That would cause a crazy drop in sanity!
But that's not the problem. William had just entered the castle when Fawkes arrived... Dumbledore still dares to say you didn't spy on the students?
Now that Fawkes had arrived, William had no choice but to part ways with Hermione and Anne and head towards the Headmaster's Office alone.
He suddenly remembered something: every time he went to the Headmaster's Office, it was destined to be bad news.
William still remembers the day he first went: the sky was blue, the wind was strong, and everyone was having a blast.
Then, two people died at Hogwarts: Prefect Robert and Professor Tywin.
After that, every time someone died at school, William would go to the office. It was as if he was the one who killed them.
Lost in thought, William pushed open the door and entered the room.
The office wasn't just Dumbledore; there was also House-elf... Dobby.
Dobby was dressed in tattered clothes, his clothes were disheveled, and he was crying and sobbing, as if he had been bullied.
The principal is gently comforting her.
Seeing William arrive, Dobby crying and stood awkwardly by the window, wiping the already clean glass.
William, puzzled, calmly sat down in the chair.
"Dobby... what's wrong with it?" William asked.
"He wasn't used to the new job, so he resigned."
Dumbledore euphemistic terms, "dismissed" and "resigned voluntarily," the latter of which, although without personal severance pay, sounded more palatable.
Psyduck sobbed Dobby he rubbed the glass with a rag, making a squeaking, squeaking sound like a Psyduck.
William raised an eyebrow. "Your brother fired him?"
"No," Dumbledore said, tilting his head slightly. "I think Aberforth still likes Dobby."
"I left on my own." Dobby his head, and tears streamed down his face.
"I shaved off Mr. Dumbledore's favorite goat, and he was sick for a few days."
The man treated the goats like goddaughters, and they would occasionally sleep together.
I've made such a huge mistake, I'm too ashamed to continue working at Hog's Head..."
Professor Dumbledore cracked his neck. Dobby's words weren't wrong, but they just sounded so awkward.
"And then?" William asked.
"Then I helped Dobby find a new job—caring for elderly wizards in the Sunset Red Community," Dumbledore replied.
"The community director likes Dobby quite a bit, but isn't quite used to paying House-elf."
Dobby's lips trembled, and then he burst into tears, which rolled from his large brown eyes and fell onto his chest.
"This is the seventh job I've had since I left my old employer's house!"
That's not surprising, William thought; it's hard for a fired House-elf to find a new job.
No wizarding family would want them.
Moreover Dobby would have to pay a salary, so no wizard would be willing to hire him.
Other people House-elf for free, but you're asking for money... Do you want me to arrange summer vacation and maternity leave for you?
Pure-blood wizard family would definitely want to get free House-elf.
Aberforth was willing to continue employing him, Dobby was too ashamed to stay at the Hog's Head.
It's because it shaved off all of the goddaughter's hair.
And all those goat hairs are now on the principal's feet.
William even suspected that the principal might have deliberately orchestrated this behind the scenes.
He's probably been eyeing those goat hairs for a long time.
"Hogwarts Kitchens should be able to offer a position, right?" William suggested.
"Of course," Dumbledore nodded. "William, I'd be happy to give Dobby wages and holidays."
However, you understand the personalities of those House-elf.
Hogwarts is not a good place, especially for Dobby.
This will only be the last place they take it in when they have nowhere else to go.
William nodded. He understood what Dumbledore meant.
The House-elf at Hogwarts lived a happy life, but they didn't ask for wages and ostracized Dobby.
It's one thing for one member of the same kind to reject you, but when more than a hundred of them reject you... that kind of passive-aggressive behavior is the most terrifying.
House-elf also need the sense of belonging to their own kind.
Nicolas Manor is actually the best place to go. Nicolas pays the House-elf salary and gives them vacations.
But he won't want to Dobby.
Nicolas has lived for so many years, and countless people have been eyeing him, wanting to enter the manor and steal the Philosopher's Stone.
He still lives a comfortable life because of his inherent caution.
His House-elf were all raised by him and grew up on the manor.
Nicolas could not accept an House-elf who had once lived with the Malfoy family.
If Nicolas were as carefree as Tonks, she would have died long ago.
William thought for a moment and then said, "Do you want me to help Dobby find a job?"
"Oh, actually, I remember you've always wanted a House-elf, haven't you?" Dumbledore asked.
"Professor, I've already hired Mars," William refused.
Mars is House-elf who was born into Nicolas's family not long ago.
He was hired by William.
When William is not home, it cleans the house in Ottery St Catchpole.
The newly purchased house on the banks of the Seine in Paris is managed by another house-elf.
William thought for a moment and said, "But I do have work to give to Dobby, about Akali's Mystery Shop."
"That's wonderful!" Dumbledore laughed heartily. "You've done Dobby favor."
"Thank you, sir, you're such a kind person," Dobby said quickly.
"Dobby, go wait outside. I have something to discuss with William," Dumbledore instructed.
Dobby bowed, then happily pushed open the door and went out.
"William, I hope you can help Professor Lupin brew the Wolfsbane Potion."
"Wasn't Professor Snape helping?" William asked, puzzled.
"Professor Lupin drank those Potions and got diarrhea. I've warned him several times, but Professor Snape still does as he pleases."
Dumbledore sighed. "I don't really want our Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor to be sick all the time."
The students have fallen too far behind in the past few years and need a good professor.
Dumbledore was also helpless.
The hatred between Snape and the Marauders is not so easily resolved.
Not to mention, Lupin almost bit Snape to death back then.
William for a long time.
This is quite simple; all we need to do is share some of the Potions we brewed for Mormont with Professor Lupin.
But William wasn't about to let this opportunity to fleece him slip by. He looked troubled and said, "Headmaster, although I know how to make it, the success rate is extremely low... You see..."
"You may use Professor Sprout's greenhouse as you please," Dumbledore a wink and a smile.
William nodded in satisfaction.
There happened to be a few Potions for which he couldn't find the ingredients in the Forbidden Forest, but Professor Sprout had them.
These days, getting something for free is awesome.
It's so comfortable talking to the headmaster, unlike Professor Snape, who's always scheming and trying to take advantage of William.
"Professor, there's definitely something wrong with Scabbers." William hesitated for a moment, then brought up the vacation again.
"I know, but that rat was definitely a real rat," Dumbledore replied.
"A real rat may not be the same rat as before."
Not only do all the rats look almost identical, but the last time Professor Lupin saw Peter transform was thirteen years ago.
William stood up, and as he was about to leave the office, he suddenly turned back and asked:
"Professor, if Peter really still alive, what does that mean?"
"It means..." Dumbledore's eyelids drooped.
"The truth can sometimes be deadly."
