The Lethifold's Night Attack
A large pot sat on a tripod, Gulugulu inside, simmering a potion of Potions.
The pot was Dahei, stolen from a nearby Muggle's house; the water was dew from before Easter, all rotten, used to make soup... ugh, it's perfect for brewing Potions.
The fire was demonic fire, simmering for a full three hours. The Potions had developed a peculiar green paste-like consistency, with no color, aroma, or flavor... whatsoever.
It really highlights the meticulousness of us old England!
Beside the black pot, a huge Runespoor was coiled up. It was orange-yellow all over with black stripes and was at least seven or eight meters long.
For Runespoor has three heads, each with a different function.
The head on the left is a planner; it decides Runespoor should go and what it should do.
The head in the middle is a dreamer who often remains motionless for days on end, as if he were dead.
In reality, he was daydreaming, fantasizing about a bright future;
The head on the right is a critic, who likes to constantly criticize the two heads on the left and in the middle, making impatient hissing sounds.
Therefore, it is common for Runespoor to lack a right-side head.
Because it talked too much, it was eaten by the heads on the left and in the middle...
At this moment, the rightmost head has transformed into the Zaun snake, its mouth seemingly equipped with a tiny electric motor, and it's spewing incessant foul language.
It was complaining about the other two heads, which led to them becoming the wizard's playthings.
The other two snake heads had cold eyes and seemed to be plotting how to kill it.
Voldemort's head was throbbing from the noise, and his anger level rose by five percentage points.
He angrily said:
"Shut up, you idiot!"
The snake head on the right immediately quieted down, becoming as "weak" as a well-behaved baby.
"Hurry up with Wormtail," Voldemort urged. "Add everything in."
"Yes, Master!"
Peter's hands trembled as he held a broken iron bowl and poured the Unicorn Blood and the venom of the Runespoor into the Dahei.
The black pot instantly turned from green to milky white, emitting the scent of photinia flowers, and looked full of life.
A dark shadow broke free from the small green snake and eagerly burrowed into the milky white liquid.
The liquid in the black pot seemed to heat up very quickly; the surface not only began to boil but also sparked, as if it were on fire.
After an unknown amount of time, a small figure slowly took shape in the pot.
"Now..."
Voldemort swam a freestyle lap inside the Potions, exhaling milky white bubbles, and coldly said, "Take me out."
Wormtail bowed and scraped, picked up a huge spoon from the ground, and scooped Voldemort out like he was scooping out ribs.
Voldemort's appearance was no longer that of a shadow. He resembled a curled-up infant, hairless, covered in scales, and with dark red skin, as if burned.
His arms and legs were thin and soft, and he had a flat, snake-like face with a pair of Winky red eyes.
"Alright, we're just one last step away from being resurrected!"
Voldemort stood smugly inside the giant spoon.
Wormtail placed Voldemort in a stolen crib, knelt down, and kissed the crib wheels.
Voldemort accepted the ceremony and commanded:
"Now, lure the Lethifold to the Prancing Pony Inn and kill all the wizards inside!"
And I... have come to interrogate this witch and see if there's any special information."
"But if I leave, you'll be all alone here. I'm scared..." Peter hesitated, kneeling on the ground.
Voldemort is currently only in his infant form; if he were to encounter a powerful wizard, he would likely be finished.
"Don't worry, Meraxes is here to protect me."
The snake, Runespoor, raised its body high. However, the head on its right side was hissing incessantly, appearing harmless and rather foolish.
Voldemort still missed the snake named Nagini, but... he'd have to make do with it for now.
"Go, Wormtail." Voldemort lay in the crib, covering himself with a small blanket.
"Now that I have a physical body, even though it is still very weak, no one can destroy me."
I am... Voldemort!
He is the indestructible Dark Lord!
Arrogant laughter echoed from the dark sky.
The night was dark.
A sleazy figure ran frantically toward the Prancing Pony Inn.
Behind Peter followed a group of dark shadows. These shadows slithered like snakes, getting closer and closer to Peter.
The shadow slammed into him, the immense force propelling him forward. Peter, whose agility was beyond imagination, was almost instantly transformed into a rat.
He escaped the shadowy figure's grasp and slipped into the inn through the crack in the door.
A dozen or so figures circled the inn, and after a moment, they slipped inside through the crack in the door.
Old Tom lay in bed, a light sleeper, when he heard a faint rustling sound coming from not far away.
He rolled over in bed, turning his back to the window.
With his remaining eye, he saw an invisible black shadow slide in through the bedroom door.
The shadow, like a flowing black cloak, slithered and crawled toward the bed.
Old Tom sat bolt upright.
The Lethifold had slid onto his face, covered his mouth and nose, and was trying to suffocate him.
Tom felt as if he were enveloped in icy cold air. He tried to shout, but no sound came out, and he couldn't even breathe.
Tom reached for his wand, but knocked it to the ground.
He struggled frantically, rolling around on the bed, before finally crashing heavily to the floor.
Soon, the shadowy figure disappeared, leaving only a cold corpse.
The Lethifold let out a joyful cry and glided towards another room.
In the darkness, William suddenly opened his eyes.
His protective magic has been triggered!
He put on his robe, picked up his wand from under his pillow, and walked out of the room.
William opened his door and knocked on the door next door.
Hermione!
Soon, the girl opened the door, rubbed her eyes, and looked confused.
"What's wrong, William?" She ran her fingers through her messy hair, a single stray hair sticking up.
"Can't sleep in the middle of the night? Want to chat with me?" She yawned deeply.
When have I ever had insomnia? It's always you who has insomnia and comes to chat with me!
William thought to himself.
"Someone has triggered the magic; I'm going out to check," he explained.
Hermione snapped out of her daze and immediately turned to change her clothes.
William, carrying his wand, stepped out of the Safety Watch and appeared in a dilapidated room.
A milky white light shone around the Safety Watch, obscuring a black shadow.
"Lethifold?" William was taken aback.
He never expected to encounter such a magical creature here.
William had always wanted to create Flying Cloak, but the materials required were Dementor and Lethifold.
Unexpectedly, the other party came to us.
What a kind person!
If this was deliberately lured here, William would be even more grateful to his ancestors...
The white light finally disappeared, and the body of the Lethifold, which had taken to the air, suddenly stretched out like a black curtain.
William swung his wand, and the broken bed in the room bent into a bow-like arc, slamming into the Lethifold in an instant.
Without moving its body, it used the backward indentation of its chest and back to roll up the broken bed. The broken bed immediately swung back and crashed back down.
A flash of red light streaked across the sky, and wood chips exploded in mid-air.
Immediately afterwards, the silver eagle crashed into the Lethifold and was forced to retreat.
The Lethifold used the momentum to propel itself backward like lightning, its body sticking to the wall. Just as it was about to launch a second counterattack, a sharp pain shot through its chest.
It looked down, unaware that its heart had been pierced by a sea eagle.
Like Dementor, Lethifold are almost impossible to deal with with magic, but the Patronus Charm is extremely effective against them.
It can be called a nemesis.
It turned to try and escape through the window, but another silver swan flew over and blocked its way.
Hermione, who had already stepped out of the Safety Watch, controlled her Patronus to crash into it.
But having missed its target, the Lethifold retreated.
William flicked his wand, and a large chest that Hermione had already prepared flew into the air.
The Lethifold seemed to be courting death, crashing headlong into the hole, and its body was unsurprisingly trapped inside.
"The Lethifold has been captured!" William said softly.
Hermione exclaimed in surprise, "How come there are Lethifold?"
"Old Tom has been running his shop here for fifty years, and there's never been an attack," William said, squinting.
"Someone must have deliberately lured them here."
The two exchanged a glance, and the only person they could think of Peter.
William and Hermione stepped out of the room and opened the door next to it.
The room was a mess, and a person lay on the floor—the scarred man—who appeared to be dead.
William sneered, "Theon, stop playing dead. If you keep it up, I'll attract the Lethifold downstairs."
Theon suddenly opened his eyes, and a red spell shot out.
William broke the spell, landed on the wall, and blasted a deep crater.
Theon looked at William with suspicion and uncertainty. He had just been woken up by the fighting next door.
He listened to the sounds from next door, thinking he would feign death, then launch a surprise attack and take Galleon away.
But to everyone's surprise, it was easily exposed.
But who are these two wizards before us?
By the moonlight, he couldn't make out their faces, but from their figures and voices, he knew that these two were definitely not the wizards from that evening.
Who are you?!
William wasn't about to engage in a war of words with him; he unleashed his magic spell.
Theon also unleashed a beam of light.
The magic collided, and a tremendous force surged forth.
A person flew backward like a kite with a broken string, spun several times in the air, and then crashed heavily to the ground.
This time, Theon truly felt like he was going to die!
William walked over slowly and looked down at them.
By the moonlight, Theon finally saw the boy's face clearly.
--Stark!
"You... you're Stark?" Theon asked in horror.
Damn it, weren't Stark and Granger in Venice, fighting the White Dragon?
How did you end up in Albania?
"It's me... Didn't you threaten to break all three of my legs?"
William twirled his wand in his hand.
He said coldly:
"Take us to the Runespoor immediately, or... we'll dump you with the Lethifold and have it cut off your three legs!"
Theon shuddered.
