The Yule Ball (1)
The password for Gryffindor House has been constantly changing lately; a few days ago it was "Toad," and today it's "Keep Out."
I wonder who they're trying to protect themselves from!
"Of course, it's to keep out 'unauthorized personnel'." Upon hearing William's command, the Fat Lady chuckled and turned to leave.
Professor McGonagall said that all the good girls in our department have been snatched up by other departments. We need to be careful to prevent "someone" from coming in.
"Oh, that has nothing to do with me." William smiled confidently. "I'm not just anyone, nor am I that person."
"No, William, Professor McGonagall is talking about you!"
The Fat Lady sat in the picture frame, unwrapping a chocolate liqueur, and said, "She said... if you bring Hermione back in the middle of the night again, she'll break your legs."
William said speechlessly, "You promised you wouldn't tattle."
"Yes," the Fat Lady laughed, "But it's your fault for not inviting me to the ball."
William rolled his eyes... He was carrying a painting to the ball?
It looks like a funeral portrait!
That scene was so bizarre!
Also, she can't be brought back in the middle of the night... That's easy, just don't let Hermione come back later in the future.
You can sleep in the Room of Requirement too.
Solve the problem directly at its root!
William quickly followed the passageway into the lounge, where he saw the twins, Harry, and Ron sitting on the sofa.
Harry looked very sleepy and kept dozing off.
How could he not be sleepy?
They say you can find anything in your dreams. He had been wanting to dream of Qiu, but last night he dreamed of Tom instead, and woke up several times in a fright.
Not only is my sleep quality poor, but I also get woken up early in the morning Dobby because I have to give him a Christmas present.
I'm so tired!
Since learning that Cho had accepted Cedric's invitation, Harry had never felt so listless and uninterested in anything.
Ron glanced at Harry, then suddenly raised his hand, placed it on Harry's head, and pressed it down hard.
Harry shuddered and finally came to his senses.
He touched his neck, which had almost snapped, and said irritably, "Ron, don't you know this part is soft and brittle?"
It's also extremely easy to break!
"Just poke me a little, don't poke me like that... it hurts!"
"Alright." Ron shrugged, picked up his wand, and aimed it at a floral dress again.
That was the robe that was shown on the train... the one Malfoy mocked.
Ron seemed to find it ugly and prepared to cast Severing Charm on the wrinkles and lace to cut off the lace.
However, his Severing Charm were not very skillful, and his collar and cuffs were still frayed.
William walked over and sat down on the sofa.
"William, how are our Christmas presents?" Fred asked, winking.
"A very good book, isn't it?"
"Do you think I'd need that?" William chuckled. "You think I can't handle Hermione?"
"What book is it?" Harry asked curiously.
"Twelve Fail-Safe Ways to Charm Witches." George winked.
"A book about how to date and flirt with girls."
"Yes," Fred said smugly, "That's how I won Angelina's heart."
"Of course, William doesn't need that. Your charm is enough to make Hermione swoon over you."
Harry opened his mouth; he... really needed this book!
Very good!
If he had already been in a relationship, he definitely would have been able to get a date with Qiu, instead of being in such a passive position now.
"Why didn't you give me one?" Ron looked up and complained, "I'm your brother, and that's the Christmas present you give me?"
I thought it would be more valuable, or at least more interesting...
"Ron, we've been more than generous compared to your Christmas presents." George shook his head.
"Yeah, at least we didn't just send a handwritten card..." Fred said, pursing his lips.
"Ron, you're really something! Sending just a Christmas card, and on parchment no less... and you still have the nerve to ask us to send you something expensive?!"
How dare you!
"You know... where all my allowance goes!" Ron glared at the two of them.
"Don't be like that, Ron." George wagged his finger. "We helped you pay off your debts, otherwise you'd still owe a ton of Galleon."
"I've become your drug user too!" Ron glared at George.
"Alright, have you found your dance partner, Ron?" Fred laughed. "I remember the Champion are supposed to lead the dance."
Don't end up all alone.
"Of course, Lavender!" Ron said smugly.
"I only mentioned it to her this morning, and she immediately abandoned Seamus and wanted to team up with me."
Fred sighed, rubbing his forehead. "I really don't know what you're thinking. What we want to know is... how could this be?"
"What do you mean?" Ron asked, frowning.
"Was Lavender in a car accident or something?" George asked.
"What?!"
"How could she have suffered such extensive brain damage, giving up on Seamus and accepting your invitation instead?" Fred shook his head.
George suddenly shouted, "Watch out!"
Ron swung his wand, hurling a Severing Charm viciously at Fred.
Fred lazily waved his wand, and the spell was broken.
Just then, the door to the common room was suddenly pushed open.
Seamus walked in looking angry.
"Ron, you invited Lavender?" he shouted.
"That's right, brother." Ron blushed and lied, "I just casually invited her, I didn't expect her to agree..."
"But she agreed to it first!" Seamus glared at him angrily.
"But Lavender said she never promised you anything," Ron muttered.
"You were supposed to go to the Christmas Party with her, but she never said... she's just a friend... she's a free agent..."
Seamus suddenly jumped up and punched Ron in the face. Ron, clutching the tuxedo, screamed and covered his face with his hands.
The twins didn't get up; they just sat there awkwardly.
Ron ran towards the dormitory, and Seamus followed.
Harry thought for a moment and immediately followed, to prevent Seamus from continuing to hit Ron.
Although he also wanted to punch Ron, after all, what Ron did was really unethical, but...
Okay, one is his best friend, the other is his roommate... Harry is torn between two men!
Ron and Seamus got into a fight over Lavender.
By noon, the rumor had quickly spread throughout Hogwarts.
Having witnessed the entire event, William was unable to refute it.
After all, the fight between Ron and Seamus really did start because of Lavender.
The fact that neither Ron nor Seamus showed up at lunchtime further confirmed the news.
Harry didn't come either.
Thus, the rumor quickly turned into a story of three men fighting over a woman.
As for the woman involved Lavender Brown, she seemed very happy and was showing off to others everywhere.
Well, even someone as famous as Hermione didn't have people fighting over her; and someone as beautiful as Phoebe didn't receive such exaggerated treatment either.
However, none of this concerned William and Hermione. After lunch, the two of them hid in the Room of Requirement.
Hermione was still studying the Golden Egg when she came up with another idea.
But none of them worked, and William was exhausted.
At six o'clock, Hermione kicked William out.
"I need to get ready for the ball," she said, looking up.
"Hmm, you need two hours?" William asked, puzzled.
"Yes, yes, it always takes girls some time to get ready." Hermione smiled sweetly.
"William, I just didn't want to dress up before, but you'll have to learn to adapt from now on!"
"Well, I could actually wait for you here," William said with a smile.
"No! I need to take a shower..." Hermione's lips curled slightly, but she deliberately kept a straight face and said, "What, you want to shower with me?"
It's not that it's impossible.
William muttered to himself.
Hermione stretched out a finger and gently poked William, then said with a charming smile, "Alright, let's go. The ball will come to pick me up."
The girl tiptoed, kissed William on the forehead, and pushed him out of the Room of Requirement.

Though late, it's here... While I still have some energy, I'll write the next chapter.
Otherwise, the update will be late again tomorrow.
