Returning to the United Kingdom
With the outbreak of the Wizarding Wars, the world's attention has turned to the British Isles.
Especially recently, war has broken out again... Voldemort has launched a counterattack against the Werewolf Jingguan.
However, the target was not United Kingdom, but rather the Death Eaters who attacked the Suez Canal.
The result was that a large, curved container ship got stuck in the Suez Canal, causing a major traffic jam in both directions.
Preliminary estimates indicate that nearly 100 ships transiting the Suez Canal are affected.
Because of the Death Eaters, there is currently only one small excavator working with difficulty.
The consequence was that a large number of magical supplies destined for the United Kingdom were suddenly blocked on the road, and magical items that had been shipped out were also stuck in the port.
This move was undeniably ruthless.
Just as countries around the world were issuing strong condemnations of Death Eaters, the United States launched a physical attack, forcefully drawing everyone's attention.
A tsunami struck the Atlantic Ocean, submerging New York and destroying even the Statue of Liberty.
Heavy losses!!
The news was truly earth-shattering.
There have been quite a few cities destroyed in recent years.
Paris, Venice, Vienna...
London recently suffered unbearable pain, once again proving the power of Stark as a "walking urban destroyer."
The nations were relieved that the Stark were finally confined to their own countries by the war, and their cities should be safe.
But New York doesn't play by the rules... and it's ruined too?!
In just three short years, five major cities have been destroyed!
What's wrong with this world?
But everyone knows that this has nothing to do with Stark.
He himself was, after all, fighting a war.
But that abnormal magical fluctuation was definitely not a natural disaster.
While the Wizarding World was still in shock and uncertainty, a massive conflict had already begun in the Muggle world.
The explosion was really similar to an atomic bomb in terms of power.
The entire world of Muggle believed that... Russia had dropped an atomic bomb on the United States.
Even the Russians themselves think so.
Holy crap, if this were true, a world war would break out!
This is far more serious than the Cuban Missile Crisis of that year.
Russia, of course, refused to take the blame, Yeltsin even called it a conspiracy.
Because, in the second round of voting a month earlier, he was re-elected as President of Russia.
I'm scheduled to be sworn in in August, and you Americans are really stirring things up, trying to get me removed from office!
Of course, in order to appease public opinion, he immediately stated that the Russians would always love peace.
He also announced that in September, Russia would withdraw all its troops from Chechnya, ending the Chechnya war.
This was an unexpected delight.
Yeltsin was no pushover either; he used the same tactics he employed against Gorbachev, and began to label people:
"This explosion was caused by the United States testing weapons of mass destruction!"
That's right, the answer is antimatter weapons and laser cannons.
The answer is that there was a leak at United States laboratory!
Governments around the world actually found this explanation quite reasonable.
After all, the United States is a repeat offender with a criminal record.
While the Muggle world was embroiled in endless debate, the Wizarding World remained surprisingly quiet.
The Magical Congress of the United States of America, as an informed party, did not immediately come forward to explain.
Aside from having to alter the memories of those Muggle, Wilkins didn't know how else to explain it!
How so?
Should I tell everyone:
It was done by high-ranking members of Congress.
The Graves Family, one of the twelve Auror families, are the Scourers, they are the undercover agents!
He also captured many young wizards, created Obscurus, and nearly destroyed New York.
Such a huge scandal, how can they possibly face anyone?!
Congress's prestige will surely be swept away in an instant.
So Wilkins really didn't want to say that it would be better to let the Muggle government take the blame.
He even contacted William.
Previously, they made grand promises, aiming to make William a hero.
But now, although it wasn't explicitly stated, it was implied to William... we can be an unsung hero.
William simply pretended not to understand this typical act of crossing the river and then discarding the bridge, and also resorted to stalling tactics.
He's waiting for Tom to make a move.
Sure enough, two days later, news broke that the Scourers did it, and a basic reconstruction of the events was provided.
This is the same tactic William used to deal with Fudge when he used Rita.
The Scourers themselves couldn't possibly admit it, since they wanted to continue hiding rather than anger all the wizards.
The Magical Congress would certainly not reveal this matter.
Tom must have done this; he just used the same trick William used on Rita, with Fudge.
Why did Tom reveal it? Because it would greatly benefit him.
With his current reputation, and with Graves dead, he will surely be able to enter the upper echelons of the Scourers.
Furthermore... the more turbulent the Scourers become, and the more severely they are suppressed by the Magical Congress, the greater his chance of controlling the organization.
For Tom,
Chaos is not an abyss.
Chaos is a ladder!
This matter also benefits William.
Only by revealing it can he gain a huge reputation boost and then enter the Magical Congress.
Tom really wanted Targaryen to enter the Magical Congress and become the second Graves.
Because of William's current reputation, no one would suspect that he is an undercover agent.
William was naturally delighted with this outcome, hoping to become the president of the Magical Congress and then turn around and kill Tom.
As the news could no longer be suppressed, the Magical Congress had no choice but to fuel the flames and promote Targaryen as a hero.
So, everyone quickly got to know Professor Ilvermorny, who looked very much like Stark.
The Magical Congress also awarded William the First Class Order of the Mayflower.
This is the highest-ranking medal in the Magical Congress, similar to the Order of Merlin.
After accepting the medal, William never appeared again.
This wave of reputation is enough; there's no need to create unnecessary trouble.
He's been staying at Newt's house lately, learning from him how to preserve and Obscurus Obscurus.
Mera Picquery also survived; she was rescued.
Although she was infused with the Obscurus, she was different from the other Obscurial.
One is innate, the other is artificially created.
Once the former is separated, it will inevitably die immediately.
The latter, if separated in time before the outbreak, will not die.
After recovering, Mera invited William to her home to express her gratitude.
There's also Mera's brother, who is said to have taken on William's shape.
However, William did not go.
Let's leave this to Professor Babbling.
She's more experienced in flirting with girls.
Of course, questions remain beyond what was raised in this incident.
For example, at Graves's house.
The Magical Congress didn't find much of value.
William took them all; there's nowhere to find them.
His answer was that Gravewich was cautious and left no evidence.
The Obscurus he extracted was used to detonate the Magical Congress.
William's statement was clearly a perfunctory excuse; Chairman Wilkins would not believe it, nor could he possibly believe it.
I highly recommend this app; it's really great and worth installing for all book lovers. It supports both Android and Apple phones!
Even so, what else could he do?
They can only question where the basic trust between people lies, but they cannot accuse William of actually taking something important.
Even without evidence, William is still a hero.
Fudge, the leader who offended the heroes last time, is already in jail.
In the midst of this leisurely period, in mid-August, William and Hermione decided to leave United States and return to the United Kingdom.
Ilvermorny,
Ancient Runes office.
After William finished packing, he placed the Order of the Mayflower on the table, intending to leave it for Babbling.
Hermione had already opened the Vanishing Cabinet, and upon seeing the medal, she smiled:
"I discovered while checking the records last night that you are not the youngest recipient of the Order of the Mayflower Ship."
"Babbling registered the Targaryen at the age of twenty-three. The youngest recipient was twenty-two."
"But I'm only seventeen." William walked up to her.
"If they knew that the Targaryen were actually Stark, they would be utterly astonished."
Hermione grinned mischievously and put her arm around William's.
"That day will come." William blinked.
He took the girl's hand and entered the Vanishing Cabinet.
