This Scripture Can Help You Comprehend the Dao in Your Dreams
In the secluded courtyard.
Chu Feng kept stroking his chin, a thoughtful expression on his face. After a long while, the corners of his mouth slightly turned up:
"Of course, it's just a little troublesome, but it's not really a challenge."
Upon hearing this, the two women who were still seated showed expressions of curiosity.
Chu Feng smiled and said, "You'll find out in a few days."
Upon hearing this, the two women's faces immediately lit up with anticipation. Elder Bing then pointed to the two people who were already slumped over the table and asked, "What about the two of them?"
"That's easy."
As Chu Feng spoke, he casually dipped a drop of wine from his glass and wrote two characters in the air, "Start" and "Return!"
Two words floated onto the two people, and they were seen to rise into the air and fly towards their courtyard.
The two women were stunned by what they saw.
Qin Qin thought to herself: I absolutely cannot come back to the courtyard drunk like this in the future; it's just too embarrassing.
Elder Bing asked, "If I get drunk in the future, will you still take me home like this?"
Chu Feng: "..."
He carefully examined Elder Bing and said solemnly, "Of course not, I'll have Qin'er help you back."
Elder Bing was delighted when she heard the first half of the sentence, but the second half made her face instantly return to normal.
"Sir, I must take my leave now."
After saying this, without waiting for Chu Feng's reply, she returned to her room alone.
Unaware of what was happening, Chu Feng said to Qin Qin, "Qin'er, you should go back early too."
"It is Master."
Qin Qin glanced at her master, then at the room where Elder Bing was, shook her head slightly, and said nothing.
After returning to his room, Chu Feng began grinding ink and writing the three large characters of the Nanhua Scripture on a blank scroll.
The following day at noon.
When Nie Xiuyuan woke up, he found himself in the courtyard. He scratched his head, wondering, "How did I get back?"
Soon, the scene before the fragments appeared in his mind, and he thought to himself: Luckily, I didn't say anything reckless last night, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to learn the supreme brewing techniques from my master.
After tidying himself Nie Xiuyuan headed to the main courtyard. When he arrived at the gate, he ran into Xu Caichen, who looked sullen.
"Senior brother."
"Uncle-Master."
As soon as the two spoke, Xu Caichen froze on the spot, and after a long while, he finally said, "Uncle-Master, are you still drunk, or am I still drunk?"
Nie Xiuyuan smiled and said, "Yesterday I officially became a disciple of my master. My master said that we should still address each other by our own titles. From now on, you will call me Uncle-Master, and I will call you Senior Brother."
Xu Caichen: "..."
The two entered the courtyard but did not see Chu Feng. They learned from Qin Qin that their master was in seclusion writing a cultivation method for Nie Xiuyuan.
Nie Xiuyuan hadn't expected his master to care so much about his affairs. After bowing in the direction of Chu Feng, he turned and left.
Seven days later, at dusk.
Chu Feng emerged from his room carrying the seven chapters of the inner section of the Nanhua Scripture.
We pay our respects to our Master.
Qin Qin and the other two bowed slightly to Chu Feng.
No need for formalities.
Chu Feng yawned and walked towards the stone table in the courtyard, with everyone's eyes fixed on the scroll in his hand.
He placed the scroll on the table and said to Nie Xiuyuan, "Xiuyuan, this scripture can help you comprehend the Dao in your dreams, thereby helping you let go of all distractions and focus solely on brewing wine."
???
Elder Bing looked on with a face full of doubt. "You gave your disciple such a treasure just so he could learn your brewing method?"
After hearing Nie Xiuyuan's face lit up with joy, and he happily accepted the Nanhua Scripture.
"Disciple thanks Master. I will definitely learn Master's brewing technique in my dreams as soon as possible. However, may I read the Nanhua Scripture while I am drunk?"
Qin Qin:???
This Martial Uncle Nie really does talk about wine all the time. How does someone like that manage to stay in a sacred place like the Dao-Seeking Academy?
Chu Feng smiled and said, "No problem. If you can't see clearly when you're drunk, it means you haven't had enough alcohol to understand the truth. In that case, your dreams will still be as bad as before, and you'll be plagued by nightmares for the rest of your life."
Nie Xiuyuan had never heard of such a novel viewpoint before. In the past, others had always advised him not to drink alcohol, but how come his master said that there wasn't enough alcohol?
Xu Caichen was standing to the side, raised his hand and asked, "Master, doesn't drinking too much make you more troubled? How can it make you sober?"
Chu Feng's lips curled up slightly. "Sometimes, being able to face your own troubles is a kind of clarity. If you don't even dare to face what you fear most, then living is no different from being drunk."
Upon hearing this, Xu Caichen was deeply moved. The thing he feared most in his life was the scene of his wife being arrested. Every time he drank, that scene would resurface in his mind, which is why he chose to quit drinking.
"Master, I would like to hear the poem you mentioned earlier today. Is that alright?"
"Of course, but it's not convenient to listen to that poem here. Let's find somewhere else to eat."
As Chu Feng spoke, he casually waved his hand and took the table with him, then flew on his sword towards an open space in front of a cliff on Miaomiao Mountain.
Seeing this, everyone quickly took to the air. Xu Caichen, stunned by the sight, shouted to the group in the sky, "Uncle-Master, I can't fly yet!"
Upon Nie Xiuyuan paused, then grabbed Xu Caichen by the collar and flew through the air.
Xu Caichen saw himself flying and quickly closed his eyes.
It was quite a while before he realized he had landed.
After Chu Feng took his seat, everyone else followed suit. Everyone was very curious about what the poem Xu Caichen had mentioned was.
But no one disturbed Chu Feng's meal and drinks.
Time slips away like the wind.
Night fell, and moonlight bathed the earth.
Everyone was half-drunk at this point. Chu Feng grabbed a wine bottle from the table, stood up, and looked at Xu Caichen with bleary eyes.
"Caichen, remember that I will only demonstrate once. As for whether you want to follow this path in the future, that is up to you."
After saying this, he drew the sword from its sheath and drank wine while looking at the sword in his hand.
Feeling the effects of the alcohol, he slowly closed his eyes and began to recall the countless poems he had read in his previous life.
gurgle... gurgle...
Chu Feng took another big gulp, then stepped forward and shouted, "Zhao guest with flowing tassels, Wu hook sword gleaming like frost and snow!"
As he spoke, he kept waving his sword in mid-air.
All they saw was a line of large characters carved into the cliff face opposite them.
After finishing his sentence, Chu Feng took another swig of strong liquor and continued loudly:
"A silver saddle shines on a white horse, swift as a shooting star."
He can kill one person in ten steps, and leave no trace for a thousand miles.
He did his deed and left, concealing his identity and name.
A sip of wine, a line of poetry—everyone present was left speechless.
Elder Bing was a master swordsman, and her eyes widened as she looked at the True Essence of Sword Dao left on those words.
Each word on the cliff face was like a terrifying sword technique; with each one she read, she felt a profound True Essence of Sword Dao assaulting her.
In Qin Qin's eyes, Chu Feng was a completely different person. At this moment, her master had become one with this world, every movement was natural and effortless, and the True Intent contained in every word gave her a lot of insights.
Bang!
Nie Xiuyuan dropped the cup in his hand and murmured, "Sober yet not drunk, immersed and selfless, only one person and one sword exist in the world. Master is giving me guidance."
"No, Master is giving me guidance."
Xu Caichen then added, "Every word of Master's contains the True Intent of the Literary Dao. I have seen this state in ancient books. This is a scene of a great Confucian master teaching the Way. It seems I can't give up drinking."
Chu Feng couldn't hear the crowd's discussions; the long sword in his hand continued to move, and his loud voice echoed in everyone's ears.
"Who can write your masterpiece, the Tai Scripture of Supreme Mystery?"
After those words, silence fell over the surroundings...
