Unrivaled in Zither, Chess, Calligraphy, and Painting
Chu Feng picked up his pen and began to write a line of small characters on the blank space of the paper.
After seven years of seeking the Dao, I traveled to the Great Void and returned via the Luo River. The ancients said that the goddess of this river was named Fu Fei. Inspired by Song Yu's tale of the goddess and the King of Chu, I composed this poem.
I told him: Its form is as graceful as a startled swan, as lithe as a swimming dragon...
At midnight, several hundred words were written, and the paper emitted a nine-foot-long light of Literary Dao, directly overshadowing the Literary Dao of the Great Sage Thunder Calligraphy.
This sudden scene almost damaged Great Sage Thunder Calligraphy's Dao heart, and he subconsciously looked towards Chu Feng.
On the drawing paper were several lines of text, each the size of a fingernail, enveloped in the light of Literary Dao. The Great Sage Thunder Calligraphy could not make out what Chu Feng had written.
However, the other person's fluid movements startled him.
Because each of those words contains the True Essence of the Great Dao.
This kid has only been Half-Saint for less than ten years, hasn't he?
How can you write so fast?
Could this be the difference between geniuses and ordinary people?
This scene also shocked Bai Yu, who was watching the battle from the sidelines. He murmured, "Just how much of the True Essence of the Great Dao has Half-Saint Chu comprehended, that he could execute it in one go?"
hehe.
Great Sage Golden Wing chuckled inwardly. If you knew that my elder brother could become a saint at any moment, wouldn't you all have to kneel down and admit your mistakes?
Chu Feng was naturally unaware of what everyone was thinking; he was currently immersed in music, chess, and books.
Although opening three times consumes a great deal of his divine sense and spiritual power, his more than three thousand years of cultivation is not fake. Even without taking pills, he can still fight these four guys for three days and three nights.
Moreover, dealing with these four Great Sage wouldn't even take three days and three nights.
He continued writing on the paper, "Then all the spirits mingled together, commanding their companions to frolic in the clear streams, soar over the divine islets, gather bright pearls, or collect emerald feathers. They followed the two consorts of the Southern Xiang River and the maidens of the Han River."
So I turned my back on the high hill, my feet went but my spirit lingered, leaving behind my emotions and imagination, looking back with sorrow. I hoped my spirit would return to its original form, and I would ride a light boat upstream. I floated on the long river and forgot to return, my thoughts lingering and my longing growing stronger. I lay awake all night, covered in heavy frost until dawn. I ordered my servants to prepare the carriage, for I was going to return to the northern road. I grasped the reins and raised the whip, but I lingered there, unable to leave.
As the last sentence was written, a 39-foot-long beam of Literary Dao light emanated from the scroll, adding Dao Light to the sky just before dawn.
Snap!
Upon witnessing this, the Great Sage Thunder Calligraphy dropped his pen and muttered, "I have lost."
Chu Feng remained silent, and his divine sense once again materialized into a chess piece, which landed on the chessboard.
With that one move, the beings that the Great Sage Demonic Chess had evolved from instantly vanished from the small world of the chessboard.
Seeing this, the Great Sage Demonic Chess closed his eyes listlessly. "I concede defeat."
Chu Feng then placed his right hand on the strings and began to pluck them with both hands.
The already precarious Great Sage Illusory Zither was further exacerbated by this scene, and he instantly broke out in a cold sweat, his fingers trembling as he played the zither.
Clang!
The strings of the zither in front of the Great Sage Illusory Zither snapped, and the strange phenomena he had created earlier vanished.
Chu Feng continued playing the zither, a man of his word, intending to finish the piece "High Mountains and Flowing Water".
The strange phenomena produced by the music and the light of Literary Dao converged, and a high mountain appeared in the sky above the Qingqiu Imperial City, with trickling springs flowing down from the mountaintop and converging into a Long River.
At that moment, the sun had just risen in the sky, and its rays shone on the strange phenomenon, making it clear to everyone in the entire imperial city.
"A sacred mountain!"
"A celestial mountain has appeared within the imperial city!"
"Could it be that the ancestral land has manifested its power?"
Countless cultivators in the Qingqiu Royal City gazed at this scene.
The experts in the imperial city also flocked to the scene, watching from afar as the five Great Sage clashed.
Just as everyone was drawn to the strange phenomenon, a goddess suddenly appeared in the Long River, holding a long sword, her face obscured.
The woman was like Nine Heavens maiden descended to earth, aloof and independent, inspiring awe in all who she stood there.
Clang!
The woman swung her sword, and a Taiji Yin-Yang symbol appeared in the sky.
Upon seeing the sword strike, the Great Sage Dharma Painting glanced at Chu Feng's painting, then at his own, and with a wave of his hand, burned his painting to ashes.
"This is the True Essence of the Great Dao. Fellow Daoist Chu's painting skills are truly divine!"
Bai Yu couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
The sword fell, and the goddess vanished, as if her appearance here was solely to impart a swordsmanship skill to the world.
At the same time, the music disappeared, and the High Mountains and Flowing Water in the sky vanished as well.
Quiet!
The entire Qingqiu Royal City fell into extreme silence; what had just happened was simply too shocking.
Countless people were still immersed in that sword strike, completely forgetting the lingering sound echoing in their ears.
Of course, the Four Elders of the Fox Clan were the most surprised. Their mouths were agape as they stared at the young man in disbelief.
"Half-Saint Chu truly deserves his title as the head of the Miscellaneous Dao Institute Dao-Seeking Academy. His skills in music, chess, calligraphy, and painting are unparalleled in this world. I am completely convinced."
The Great Sage Demonic Chess was the first to speak, breaking the silence in the courtyard.
The three Great Sage beside him also came to their senses, bowed to Chu Feng, and said in unison:
"Half-Saint Chu, we were very offensive yesterday, please forgive us, fellow Daoist."
Chu Feng smiled and said, "Seniors, you flatter me. It's because I haven't shown my skills enough that people mistakenly believe I'm a sword cultivator, which has caused this small misunderstanding between us."
Seeing that Chu Feng remained polite even after winning, the four Great Sage immediately developed a favorable impression of him.
The Great Sage Demonic Chess said, "To witness the four arts of Half-Saint Chu —music, chess, calligraphy, and painting—today, our journey to this mortal realm has not been in vain. How delightful! How delightful!"
The Great Sage Dharma Painting said, "I have guarded this pass for many years and have never seen such a remarkable person as Half-Saint Chu. Today, let us drink a great cup of wine!"
"Excellent, let's drink a big toast!"
Great Sage Thunder Calligraphy then echoed this sentiment.
Chu Feng smiled and said, "Perfect timing, I also enjoy wine. If you seniors don't mind, I'd like to invite you all to have a few cups of the sacred wine."
Upon hearing this, the four Great Sage' eyes lit up as they looked at Chu Feng Chu Feng, and their previous dissatisfaction with him vanished completely.
The Great Sage Illusory Zither Huanqin gave Chu Feng a thumbs up. "Kid, you're amazing! If you didn't already have a Daoist partner, I would have wanted to marry my granddaughter to you."
"Pooh!"
The Great Sage Dharma Painting said, "You shameless old man! You can't beat Fellow Daoist Chu, yet you expect him to call you grandpa? You're a truly wicked old geezer!"
"Hahaha..."
The cultivators present burst into joyful laughter.
Chu Feng put away his belongings and finally focused his gaze on the painting.
Without much thought, he gave the painting to Bing Yan.
"Yan'er, I have taken the liberty of using you as the subject of this painting; therefore, I present this painting to you."
"Thank you, young master."
Bing Yan, her voice barely audible, shyly accepted the painting. No one noticed that her face had turned bright red to the roots of her ears.
Seeing this, Chen Qianqian muttered to herself, "I really envy my teacher's wife. I wonder who will give me paintings like this someday."
Upon hearing this, Chu Feng immediately grabbed her pigtail. "You've been acting crazy all day, go back to sleep! I wonder who taught you such slick talk."
"Oh."
Chen Qianqian looked aggrieved, thinking to herself: All I did was tell the truth!
The cultivators couldn't help but burst into laughter when they saw her like this.
For a moment, joyful laughter echoed throughout the ancestral temple...
