A Bet?
In the Southern Barbarian Lands lands near the Ice and Snow Plateau, two figures, appearing and disappearing in the distance, braved the blizzard that could freeze the soul and the gale that could tear everything apart as they made their way forward.
One of the figures appeared and disappeared intermittently.
"Wuya, where are you taking me?!" Mo Shang asked weakly but angrily, his eyes gradually turning hostile.
The Old Man Wuya glanced casually at Mo Shang, who had lost his body. He didn't want to answer him, but thinking that he might be useful later, he said, "Don't be so angry. We escaped from the Spirit Moon Sect's siege together, which means we've been through life and death together. Would I harm you?"
"You won't harm me?" Mo Shang sneered, "Then why did you force me to come here? Why are you restricting my movements? This place is notoriously dangerous; what exactly do you want?"
By the end, Mo Shang was practically shouting, but the enormous sound was nothing in the howling wind and didn't carry very far.
"Heh~" Old Man Wuya chuckled and said, "Your Devil Creek Sect has been wiped out, and even your sect leader almost died at the hands of the Spirit Moon Sect. How can you still not understand the situation?"
Mo Shang felt a chill in his heart. Sensing the malice emanating from the Old Man Wuya, he paused for a moment before speaking in a low, slow voice, "Speak, what exactly do you want me to do for you? I believe that the living me is more useful to you than the dead me."
Mo Shang pointed out his role, seemingly afraid that the Old Man Wuya might lose control and attack him.
Keep in mind that he is currently only a spirit. Although he has some hidden abilities, this is not a significant threat to Old Man Wuya. Moreover, even when he had a physical body, he might not have been able to defeat Old Man Wuya, let alone now that he doesn't have a physical body.
If he hadn't been controlled by the Old Man Wuya, Mo Shang would have only two options: either find a corpse with Spirit Root Nascent Soul reassemble his body.
But saying all this is useless, since he is now under someone else's control and doesn't even have his freedom.
The Old Man Wuya smiled slightly and said softly, "No rush, no rush, it's not far. You'll know what I'm going to do then. Let's go, if we're lucky, we might arrive in two days."
Mo Shang felt a tremor in his heart, sensing immense danger pressing in from all directions, making him uneasy.
I'll die! I'll definitely die!
What exactly is that bastard Wuya plotting? He fled from the Verdant Sea and headed straight here; what's inside?
Mo Shang concealed his fear and tried his best to appear calm and natural, fearing that any action or emotion he might take might provoke the Old Man Wuya and bring about his own demise.
The brief exchange ended there. Although Mo Shang was reluctant to take another step, he had no choice but to keep up with Old Man Wuya.
"Gentlemen, judging from your appearance, you seem to be from a sect, right? I wonder if it's the Spirit Moon Sect or something else?"
"My name is Huang Tao, from the Extreme Shadow Sect. I just heard your insightful comments on the previous battle, and I would like to make your acquaintance."
Looking at the young man in Huang Yi before him, Shen Ge chuckled and returned the greeting, saying, "Shen Ge, from the Spirit Moon Sect. May I ask what this friend wishes to know?"
"The Extreme Shadow Sect is located between the Spirit Moon Sect and the Evergreen Sect. It has fewer than a hundred members, and its sect leader seems to be only at the Foundation Establishment Peak. It's a small force, not even as powerful as the Wan Household," Mu Wan transmitted her voice.
Seeing that the woman beside him had no intention of speaking and Shen Ge had no intention of introducing them, Huang Tao wisely refrained from asking.
"So you're a disciple of the Spirit Moon Sect, my apologies for not recognizing you sooner." Huang Tao bowed again, then said in a slightly humble tone, "I just heard Brother Shen say that Tang Yu has a chance to win in the end. How did you come to that conclusion? You know, so far only those at the Foundation Establishment Late Stage Foundation Establishment Peak hasn't even made a move yet. Given the conditions offered by the Wan Household, there will definitely be Foundation Establishment Peak stage fighters later on. Tang Yu, a Foundation Establishment Late Stage fighter, can't last long."
"Furthermore, it seems he's played all his cards, and each victory has been rather narrow. To be honest, I don't think he can win."
Shen Ge smiled and said, "Brother Huang is right. Under normal circumstances, Tang Yu won't last long. He won't be able to hold out against those Foundation Establishment Peak cultivators for very long either."
"So how did Brother Shen come to the conclusion that he could win? To be honest, my cultivation is too shallow to see through it," Huang Tao said, continuing the conversation.
"I just have a feeling," Shen Ge shook his head and said, "I didn't really see anything substantial, I just felt he was likely to win."
"Feeling?" Huang Tao's lips twitched, seemingly not quite believing this statement.
"It's not that I don't trust Brother Shen, but judging from the situation, he really has no chance of winning. I still trust my own judgment."
Mu Wan watched the two talking without any change in expression. Although she didn't want to interrupt and didn't understand why Shen Ge was talking to him so much, she wouldn't disturb Shen Ge's conversation.
Perhaps because of her privileged upbringing, she looked down on these small sects and their disciples, believing their knowledge was so shallow that there was no need for any interaction.
Of course, Mu Wan wouldn't show this disdain overtly; at most, she would just ignore them. She knew the saying "loose lips sink ships," and sometimes offending someone could cost her her life.
"Brother Shen, how about we take a gamble?" Huang Tao said with a smile.
"Brother Huang, you still have a gambling habit?" Shen Ge said with a faint smile, "Alright, Brother Huang, what do you want to gamble on?"
No sooner had he finished speaking than Mu Wan's voice transmission warned Shen Ge: "No gambling, or I'll go back and tell Senior Sister Liuyue to teach you a lesson."
Shen Ge's lips twitched, but she didn't dare to respond.
Although he rarely sees Senior Sister Liuyue, and even when he does, she doesn't talk much and seems aloof, Shen Ge is actually afraid of her lecturing. He experienced it once before, and even now, the echo of her words still lingers in his ears.
"Brother Shen, let's bet on whether Tang Yu can win. I have a Star Stone that I recently acquired; that's my wager."
Huang Tao took out a stone from his Storage Bag. It was about the size of his head and emitted tiny starlight, as dazzling as a galaxy.
Shen Ge's eyes lit up. This was a real treasure! Star Stone was the main material for refining Law Treasure, and it was extremely rare to find. It was said to be the tears that fell from the stars in the sky.
Just as he hesitated whether to gamble, Mu Wan's slightly hurried voice suddenly rang in his mind. "Don't hesitate, gamble! Add your remaining Spirit Stone, I still have five high-grade magic Law Artifact and some pills here, bet them all!"
Shen Ge's lips twitched. Who was it that just said gambling was forbidden? Who was it that said they would tattle? This change of heart is too fast!
