Suppressing the Sea of Consciousness Injury
Not long after returning to his own courtyard, Shen Ge was summoned to the sect's main hall. Upon entering, he looked around and found that only Sect Leader Ziyang was there.
Shen Ge stepped forward and bowed, saying, "Shen Ge, a disciple of Divine Sword Peak, greets the Sect Leader."
Ziyang beckoned to Shen Ge and said, "There are no outsiders here, no need for formalities. Come here, let me check your injuries first."
Shen Ge took a few steps forward and stood in front of Ziyang. As soon as he stood still, he felt a powerful aura coming towards him, but the aura was gentle and did not feel oppressive.
He then felt this aura invade his consciousness.
After observing for a while, Ziyang opened his eyes and shook his head, clearly indicating that Shen Ge's injury was far from ideal.
"Shen Ge, you've been a member of our Spirit Moon Sect for several years now. What are your thoughts?"
Shen Ge was taken aback, unsure of what the sect leader meant by asking this, and could only respectfully reply, "This disciple has been in the Spirit Moon Sect for almost three years now, and it's very good here."
"Just very good?" Ziyang said with a smile.
Shen Ge scratched his head somewhat awkwardly and said, "Sect Leader, 'very good' is enough to describe my thoughts. If I were to give you a long and detailed praise, you would just think I'm being glib."
"You brat." Ziyang chuckled and scolded, then his smile faded and he said seriously, "Shen Ge, the sect doesn't have a way to completely solve this problem for the time being. I can only help you suppress it to some extent, but that's fine too. Use this time to reflect and mature; consider it a trial on your cultivation path."
"You should know that you possess Supreme-Grade Metal Spirit Root with a single attribute. In terms of aptitude, you can be considered a peerless genius. But geniuses are often envied by the heavens, Qin Yu..."
At this point, Ziyang shook his head and stopped talking, a faint sadness appearing on his face.
"Come with me first, I'll help you suppress your injuries in the meantime."
Shen Ge bowed and said, "Thank you, Sect Leader."
The two then arrived at the place where Ziyang was in seclusion. Ziyang used his Nascent Soul power to add a protective shield to Shen Ge's sea of consciousness, which barely slowed down the rate at which his soul power was draining away. However, this was only a temporary solution and did not have much effect at all.
Five days later, Shen Ge left the sect leader's cave abode and returned to his own courtyard. He was lying on the rocking chair he had made, staring blankly at the sky. Several jugs of spirit wine and food were placed on the stone table next to him.
Suddenly, two heads filled Shen Ge's field of vision. He calmly asked, "What are you two up to now?"
"Shen Ge, was the kill order issued by the sect for you?" Mu Wan asked, but her eyes were full of certainty.
"Since you already know, why ask again? It makes you look silly." With that, Shen Ge waved his hand, and the spirit wine on the stone table next to him flew up by itself, filled a cup, and then flew towards Shen Ge.
Just as Shen Ge was about to grab the cup, Mu Wan took it first and drank it down in one gulp. Mu Wan then casually tossed the cup back, wiped her mouth, and asked with a slightly worried expression, "I heard you were injured. Is it serious?"
"Master, are you badly injured? Will you die?" Su Sui asked from the side, her little face filled with worry.
Shen Ge's face darkened. He lightly tapped Su Sui on the head and said, "You little brat, can't you speak properly? Are you really hoping I die?"
Su Sui covered her head, two tears welling up in her eyes. Her large, watery eyes looked at Shen Ge: "Su Su was worried about you, but you hit me, Shizun! Humph, I'm not playing with you anymore!"
After saying that, she stormed off, but after a few steps she turned back.
No one paid any attention to the little guy. Mu Wan squatted down and leaned on Shen Ge's rocking chair, looking somewhat anxious. "Hey, you haven't answered my question yet. How is it? Is it serious? Do you need me to go find some medicine for you?"
Shen Ge felt a warmth in her heart. Although Mu Wan was usually quite unreliable, she could be quite caring at times.
"It's nothing, just a minor issue. After the sect leader's treatment, it's mostly resolved."
Hearing this, Mu Wan breathed a sigh of relief. In her mind, a Nascent Soul Realm sect leader was a god-like figure. With his help, Shen Ge would be fine no matter how serious his injuries were.
"That's good. I was really afraid you'd die someday, and then there wouldn't be anyone as pleasing to my taste as you."
"By the way, how did Huang Tao scheme against you? Should I go and avenge you?"
Shen Ge smiled and shook his head, saying, "Forget it, it's good that you have the intention. But that person has long since disappeared, and finding him is not difficult at all. We have nothing, and even if we wanted to use Secret Method to track him, we couldn't do it. We can only wait and hope that news will come."
"Then you should rest and recuperate during this time. I won't bother you anymore." Mu Wan nodded and said, "I heard that most of your magical Law Artifact have been taken. I still have a few magical Law Artifact here that I was planning to sell, so I'll give them to you along with this Storage Bag."
"Although these Law Artifact are not nearly as precious as your own, they are all high-grade magical Law Artifact, so they are still acceptable. Just make do with them."
Listen to this! Is this even human language? They're only saying "good enough" for high-grade Law Artifact? This is outrageously extravagant!
It should be noted that among the vast number of disciples of the Spirit Moon Sect, at most only a hundred possess high-grade Law Artifact.
Shen Ge didn't stand on ceremony. She reached out and took the pinkish Storage Bag, tilted her head back, and thanked her, saying, "Thanks. I'll find a way to return it to you later."
"What, you're not going to pay it back?" Mu Wan pouted. "These things are worth five thousand Spirit Stone. If you dare not pay them back, I'll dismantle you piece by piece to pay off the debt."
Indeed, in the cultivation Immortal Realm, those who possess the most Spirit Stone are those who refine weapons and pills, who are the fastest at accumulating Spirit Stone. Even those who specialize in talismans and formations cannot compare.
"Don't you know who I am? How could I possibly default on a debt?" Shen Ge said with a smile, then tossed the Storage Bag onto the table beside him.
"Yes, you're not that kind of person, but you've only paid back a thousand of the two thousand Spirit Stone you owed me. There's still a lot left to lose." Mu Wan couldn't help but make a sarcastic remark, but she regretted it as soon as she said it. Shen Ge had just lost all his possessions; wasn't saying that just rubbing salt into his wounds?
Sure enough, as soon as he finished speaking, Shen Ge's smiling face stiffened. He forced a smile and said casually, "It's nothing, it's not a big deal, it's no big deal."
By the end, Shen Ge gritted his teeth and growled, "Damn it! My heart bleeds just thinking about how my unused Spirit Turtle Shield was stolen like that! It cost nearly three thousand Spirit Stone!"
"Um... well, I'll go now. I'll go see if there's any news coming back from the Law Enforcement Hall."
Seeing that Shen Ge was getting angry, Mu Wan slipped away as fast as she could. Staying would only make her a punching bag, and she wasn't going to do that.
