Political Position

History

The Uchiha and Senju clans founded Konohagakure after a long history of conflict. Despite this founding role, the Uchiha were later pushed to Konoha's outskirts and associated with the village's police apparatus, leaving them exposed to public resentment. Their own market was limited, and declining revenues from clan industries left many members in difficult circumstances. 4 8 119

Suspicion toward the clan intensified after the Nine-Tails Attack. Although the Uchiha denied responsibility, the Sharingan seen in the Nine-Tails' eyes became a lasting pretext for discrimination, relocation, and surveillance. Konoha's higher-ups increasingly treated the entire clan as a potential rebellion rather than as fellow founders of the village. 193

In Life Simulator routes, this pressure repeatedly culminates in the Night of the Uchiha Clan Downfall: Itachi and Konoha's leadership agree that only Sasuke should survive, while the remaining Uchiha are annihilated. These outcomes drive Uchiha Setsuna's efforts to alter the clan's fate. 14 15

In the main timeline, the Uchiha avoided immediate extermination when Utatane Koharu's attack was exposed and countered. Fugaku's use of Susanoo publicly demonstrated the clan's hidden strength, while Setsuna's behind-the-scenes preparations helped the clan survive the ensuing civil war. 160 162 166

Following Hiruzen Sarutobi's defeat and flight, Fugaku became Konoha's new Hokage. His administration ended the Uchiha-exclusive structure of the Guard Division, established separate Defense and Mission Departments, and redistributed power from clans that had supported Hiruzen. 206 208

Kekkei Genkai and Capabilities

Sharingan

The Sharingan is the Uchiha Clan's hereditary Kekkei Genkai. It grants superior dynamic vision, observation ability, and learning efficiency, while enabling Sharingan-based genjutsu. Its visual perception can also allow a user to copy an opponent's ninjutsu and respond with faster hand seals. 5
