The Adventures of Lu Bingang at Sea (2)
The crab raised its iron-like right claw, met the pig's snout that was reaching down, and snapped it shut on Luo Sanpao's nostril.
"Roar, roar, roar?!"
A sharp pain shot through Luo Sanpao's nose, and his two eyes nearly met. He frantically shook his large head from side to side, trying to shake off the giant crab.
Unfortunately, that reef crab was fierce, its iron pincers tightening their grip, while its other black claw defiantly snapped in mid-air.
In excruciating pain, Luo Sanpao panicked and ran blindly, his round head filled with only one thought—to find his master for help.
It turned around, spotted Yu Xiaogang, and ran away on its four short legs.
Yu Xiaogang had finally managed to assign the work to her only subordinate and was about to take a short break.
Suddenly, I looked up and saw it charging straight at me, its head held high by a giant crab waving its massive claws.
"Don't come any closer!"
Yu Xiaogang stuck out her buttocks and started to run away.
"Get out of my way! Don't come any closer to Grandwet!"
Yu Xiaogang's cries drifted away on the wind, but Luo Sanpao was focused on removing the giant crab, his eyes only on his master, and he charged even faster with his four hooves flying.
As he ran, a tearing pain spread throughout Yu Xiaogang's body, and every step he took was accompanied by an excruciating sensation. How could he possibly outrun a four-legged wild boar?
He fled, it chased; he could not escape even with wings.
A muffled thud.
Luo Sanpao's round body, carrying a whirlwind of momentum, crashed between Yu Xiaogang's legs.
"Awoo--"
Yu Xiaogang felt stars flashing before her eyes, and she flew through the air in an arc before plunging face down into the wet sand.
Luo Sanpao, who was behind Chuangfei, couldn't stop himself. His round body rolled down the slope and fell into the receding undercurrent.
The rolling waves crashed in, lifting Luo Sanpao's plump body and propelling him straight towards the vast ocean.
"Glug glug... Roar roar."
Luo Sanpao struggled desperately in the waves with his short legs, the crab still hanging from his nostrils, and was about to be swallowed by the undercurrent.
"Oh no! My loyal servant!"
Yu Xiaogang, who was lying in the sandpit eating sand, barely managed to lift her head and was shocked by what she saw.
Although this stupid pig is more of a hindrance than a help, it is the only source of labor on this deserted island.
With a thought, he severed the connection of Soul Power and retrieved his Martial Soul.
Luo Sanpao, amidst the waves, was surrounded by a flash of yellow light. His figure instantly transformed into specks of light and vanished, causing the clinging reef crab to lose its target and fall into the sea.
"Damn it, I didn't even think of this when I was hit."
Yu Xiaogang struggled to her feet from the sandpit, pressing her aching groin with one hand, and once again channeled her Soul Power.
With a flash of light, Luo Sanpao was summoned back to his side.
Looking at this troublemaker, a surge of Evil Fire welled up inside him. He pointed at Luo Sanpao's pig-like head and began to curse:
"Useless! You're a complete and utter idiot! How could I, Grandwet, have awakened such a useless thing as you?"
"You can't even catch a fish without getting your nose pinched by a crab, and you still manage to turn around and attack this Grandwet? You've not only disgraced your pig face, but you've completely disgraced this Grandwet master."
Luo Sanpao lay on the beach, his two large, fan-like ears drooping down to cover his eyes, and he made muffled, aggrieved groans in his throat.
As Martial Soul, it could not resist and could only shrink into a ball and obediently bow its head to accept the training.
Glug glug--
A rumbling sound from her stomach interrupted Yu Xiaogang's cursing.
The hunger pangs in my empty stomach began to return, and my stomach walls felt like they were rubbing against each other, bringing waves of burning, throbbing pain.
Yu Xiaogang rubbed her shrunken belly, swallowed hard, and gave Luo Sanpao an impatient order:
"What are you standing there for? If you can't catch fish, can't you even pick a few wild fruits? Get out of the woods and find some food for this Grandwet."
Luo Sanpao hung his head listlessly and, under Yu Xiaogang's stern gaze, staggered into the coastal jungle.
After burrowing in the jungle for almost half an hour, it slowly emerged, carrying a few unevenly green and yellow wild fruits.
Yu Xiaogang rushed forward, snatched the wild fruit, wiped it haphazardly with her sleeve, and impatiently took a big bite.
The unripe wild fruit was extremely sour and astringent, causing his facial features to contort in pain, but hunger overwhelmed everything, and he could only force himself to swallow it down despite feeling nauseous.
Before we knew it, the sun had sunk below the horizon, and the last rays of the setting sun were quickly swallowed up by the night.
The temperature on the island is getting cooler, and the sea breeze blows across the empty beach, the damp chill seeping into your bones.
"It's getting dark; without a fire, tonight will be hard to endure."
Yu Xiaogang hugged her arms tightly, trembling, her teeth chattering. On this desolate island, darkness and cold meant extreme danger.
"The ancient sages invented fire by drilling wood. Today, I'll show you, you fool, what Grandwet mastery and wisdom are all about."
He groped around at the edge of the woods and picked up a few dead branches and a pile of dry grass, which he then piled on the sand.
He picked out a relatively sturdy piece of dry wood, clasped his hands together in his palms, aimed it at the groove, and began to rub it frantically with all his might.
A moment later...
After a while...
Apart from grinding a layer of sawdust into the wooden trough, not even a wisp of spark or smoke rose.
On the contrary, Yu Xiaogang's palms were covered in blisters, which were burning and throbbing with pain.
"You scoundrel! How dare you oppose this Grandwet, a mere piece of rotten wood?"
Yu Xiaogang angrily threw the wooden stick on the ground and blew cold air into her hands.
A cold wind howled past, making him shiver uncontrollably.
Suddenly, his gaze fell on Luo Sanpao, who was curled up and dozing off to the side.
Its plump, round body rose and fell slightly with its breath, radiating a faint warmth.
Yu Xiaogang's dim eyes lit up.
"Oh yeah, how could I forget about you?"
He rushed forward, took two steps at a time, stretched out his arms and pulled the steaming Luo Sanpao into his embrace, then closed his eyes and tried to fall into a deep sleep.
But Luo Sanpao twisted his short legs uncomfortably, trying to turn over and adjust his position.
Yu Xiaogang immediately raised her hand and slapped the pig's head, scolding it impatiently, "Behave yourself, what are you doing?"
Luo Sanpao let out a dissatisfied protest. "Roar... roar..."
Snap!
Yu Xiaogang slapped it on the forehead again, and muttered, "Shut up!"
After being reprimanded repeatedly, Luo Sanpao dared not make a sound again. He could only obediently close his eyes and let Yu Xiaogang hug him and act as a heater.
It was midnight.
All was silent, with only the sound of waves crashing against the shore.
puff--
With a dull thud, a thick, foul stench erupted forth.
"Cough... cough cough cough! Ugh--"
Yu Xiaogang, who was sleeping, was jolted awake by the stench and lay on the sand, gagging.
By the dim moonlight, looking at the lingering yellow mist behind Luo Sanpao, he roared in anger:
"You idiot! How dare you release poison gas in the middle of the night? Are you trying to kill your master?"
Having just expelled the pent-up gas, Luo Sanpao felt much better. Undeterred by its master's roar, it raised its pig head and barked loudly:
"Roar, roar."
The two round pig eyes were full of indignation, clearly protesting: 'As a pig whose Soul Skill relies on farting, what's wrong with passing gas in my sleep at night?'
Seeing that the stupid pig who usually let her be beaten and scolded dared to talk back and resist to her face, Yu Xiaogang's anger, which had been building up for many days, finally exploded.
"You've gone too far! You've really gone too Grandwet! I'll teach you a lesson today!"
He brandished his fists and pounced on Luo Sanpao, unleashing a flurry of punches.
Luo Sanpao was already weak, and now he had to endure Luo Sanpao's anger and beating for no reason.
"Aww--"
Luo Sanpao let out a scream, and with a flash of yellow light around him, his fat body turned into specks of light and vanished.
The heater vanished without a trace.
The biting night wind howled, penetrating her thin, tattered clothes, and Yu Xiaogang's teeth chattered from the cold.
Under the cover of night, the ocean stretches to the horizon.
Yu Xiaogang curled up alone, hugging her knees, and said sadly to the dark sea:
"Flender, Erlong, Dong'er, Brother Jie... where are you guys?"
At this moment, feeling lost and helpless in the vast world, he couldn't help but reminisce about the days when he and the other three Brother Jie and his companions, would sit by candlelight and discuss the Martial Soul Theory.
The only response he received was the howling, cold night wind and the tireless, dark waves crashing against the beach.
