I Am the God of Fire, and I Shall Suppress Every Enemy in the World
"If you charge up for too long, the enemy won't give you that much time to wait to die!" Hughes commented with a laugh.
He turned and swung his leg, unleashing a transparent slash that, in less than a breath, completely shattered the small hill that Mira had leveled.
"Fast isn't always a bad thing."
"The battle was over before the enemy even realized what was happening; sometimes it's not necessarily ironic!"
Hughes patted Mira's little horn on her head. "Only when you raise your hand can you unleash that move, and then we can incorporate it into your regular combat system!"
Mira rolled her eyes at Hughes; she was only receiving Fudia for the first time and wasn't even familiar with him yet.
That's why the expectations for her are so high.
"Don't touch my horns!" Mira scoffed, but moved closer to Hughes.
Hughes then noticed that Mira's light blue eyes had turned crimson after receiving Fudia.
Bathed in sunlight, her eyes sparkled, as if the sunshine were locked within them. Combined with the small horns on either side of her head, she exuded an indescribable exotic beauty.
"You know what, your beast-like appearance is actually quite handsome!" Hughes said insincerely.
"Human... human-beast?"
Mira's steps toward Hughes halted abruptly, her eyes twitching as she swayed back to her original position.
She slapped away Hughes's horned hand with great force!
A white light appeared, and it immediately exited the receiving state.
He turned his head to the side, presenting the back of his head to Hughes, and pretended to be angry.
Hughes glanced at the back of Mira's head, his fingers involuntarily rising into the air.
"Thump~"
Caught off guard, Mira turned around abruptly, her bright eyes filled with disbelief. "How could you be like this!"
Mira, clutching the back of her head, angrily clenched her small fists, as if to punch Hughes.
Having already guessed this, Hughes raised his hand and placed his palm on Mira's head, letting her throw a punch.
The difference in arm span rendered Mira's revenge hopeless, and she ended up giving Hughes a free-for-all punch.
Hughes yawned, shook his head smugly, and said, "Hey, I'm not trying to be mean, but look at yourself, you've thrown almost a hundred punches and haven't even touched the hem of my clothes!"
"How about you call me 'good brother' and I'll give you a handicap?"
Mira laughed in fury, her small fists flashing like afterimages.
Seeing her relentless determination, Hughes's playful side was piqued. He reached out with his free left hand and, seizing the opportunity, pinched Mira's nose.
"Ah, you better remember this!" Mira snapped, breaking down in her defenses.
She stood on tiptoe, trying to close the seemingly insurmountable distance between herself and Hughes.
Unfortunately, Hughes didn't let her succeed. He pressed his hand against her head with a little force, and Mira immediately stumbled backward.
Such "heinous acts" made Makarov and others grit their teeth in anger.
They had already arrived by the time Hughes tapped Mira on the forehead.
"No, I can't stand it!" Macao and Wakaba said in unison.
They rolled up their sleeves, eager to lend Mira a hand.
Makarov stroked his beard and calmly stopped the two of them.
"You two idiots, how could you just go in like that? Aren't you just giving Hughes more credit?"
"Taking advantage of the enemy's unpreparedness and striking unexpectedly is the key to victory!"
Makarov silently walked up behind Hughes, then suddenly enlarged his hand and slapped Hughes hard on the back, feigning concern.
Yi said, "Hughes, I've come to see if you've finished your work. If you're done, we should head back!"
After saying this, Makarov stroked his beard smugly; his concern was mixed with personal motives.
He slapped Hughes, and Hughes couldn't say anything to him.
However, Makarov was completely unaware that Macao and the others behind him were staring at Hughes with their mouths agape in shock.
Just now, Hughes, caught off guard by Makarov's heavy blow, staggered forward, while Mira's wildly flailing fists landed directly on him.
Thus, Mira's little fist inevitably slammed into Hughes's lower abdomen, about three inches below his waist.
"Um... um!"
Mira's cheeks flushed crimson, her heart pounded, her small fists trembled and she pulled back, unsure of what to say.
"I've met him, I've really met Hughes..."
Mira looked up awkwardly, her eyes meeting Hughes's.
Two seconds later, Mira, her cheeks flushed even more, fled in a panic.
Hughes, whose body had been bent unconsciously, slowly straightened up, his face dark.
It didn't hurt, but the embarrassment and anger kept rising.
Slowly turning his body, Hughes's eyes flickered with fire as he silently looked down at Makarov.
Macao and the others were so frightened that they swallowed hard. Seeing that things were going badly, they turned around and ran away in perfect unison.
There was absolutely no intention to warn Makarov.
Unaware of the situation, Makarov paused in stroking his beard, his brow furrowing slightly. "Strange, why does Hughes seem so angry!"
"Old man, this isn't over until I beat you up today!" Hughes snarled.
"Fire!"
With a furious roar, flames erupted around Makarov, spreading into circles that grew wildly in the void.
In no time, a colossal inferno, resembling a celestial fire capable of destroying the world, suddenly materialized, completely trapping Makarov.
The intense heat and fierce flames forced Macao and the others to retreat further.
"How did Hughes's flames become so terrifying?" As a fellow fire mage, Macao's face was full of disbelief.
He had seen Hughes's flames before; he was there when Hughes used flames to defeat Laxus last time.
But didn't this just happen last month?
Evolving to this extent in just one month, you could believe that Hughes is the reincarnation of Vulcan, or even Macao!
Little brat Natsu drooled, his eyes shining as he eagerly watched the flames unleashed by Hughes.
It smells delicious, it's really good, I want to eat it!
His feet moved forward uncontrollably, and then...
"Bang!"
Erza punched Natsu on the head, knocking Natsu unconscious, and then threw him to Gray.
"Everyone, keep retreating and escape to the edge of the island!"
"Hughes's flames are strange; they're even setting the air ablaze!"
After Erza cut off her tail, everyone rushed to the edge of the deserted island to avoid being affected.
Deep down, Erza longed for armor that could withstand fire.
Without armor to resist the flames, he would be no match for Hughes no matter what.
On the other side, Hughes was still using flames to suppress Makarov.
Seizing the advantage, Hughes made a clenching motion with his hands, and two flaming spears instantly materialized.
"Sacred Fire Shiranui!"
Hughes hurled the two flaming spears with all his might, and they pierced through the towering flames surrounding Makarov, heading straight for the old man's chest.
"Old man, you'd better be serious. I'm not the same person I was back in the Magic Council anymore!"
As he spoke, two more flaming spears appeared in Hughes' hands.
The spears charged forward, soaring into the sky, aimed directly at Makarov's private parts.
Before the two sinister spears could fall, Hughes had two more flaming spears in his hands.
In an instant, spears rained down, filling the void, Hughes alone displayed the momentum of a thousand troops.
After the Flame-Flame Fruit reached Complete Awakening, moves that previously required a bit of charging up can now be released by Hughes with a simple raise of his hand.
This includes his Great Sun Traversing the Sky, which he developed based on the Great Flame Commandment and the Flame Emperor!
