Gogirde Attacks
"Bang!"
The blazing flames and the violent thunder collided violently, emitting a brilliant red and yellow light, accompanied by a piercing sizzling sound.
The two sides remained locked in a stalemate, for a breath, two breaths...
Bang!
The evenly matched situation collapsed in just two breaths.
The powerful flames pushed the golden lightning backward, then suddenly intensified, engulfing and completely devouring it.
The ever-growing, solidified flames, carrying an indescribable, terrifying force, continued their advance...
With a bang, Chu Renmei was blasted away, turning into a shooting star and disappearing from Hughes' sight.
Everything around them began to return to normal; the dark, deep pool was gone, and the bright moonlight from before was no more.
Hughes stood there, stunned, looking incredulously in the direction where "Chu Renmei" had disappeared.
That looks like Laxus...
Laxus is Chu Renmei?
Were we and Laxus actually caught in this trap without even realizing it?
Hughes glanced around, but there wasn't a trace of magic being activated near him.
Is Gogirde's Illusion Magic really that powerful?
Now that he had been discovered, Hughes stopped tiptoeing. He stomped his foot heavily on the ground, leaped into the air, flames erupting from his feet, and used Geppo to fly quickly towards Laxus.
He didn't hold back in his excitement; I hope that bastard Laxus doesn't get into trouble.
Just as Hughes left, a thin, jet-black line, no bigger than a hair, suddenly emerged from the ground where he had stood.
It swayed its body in the direction Hughes had left, as if conveying a message, before suddenly burrowing into the ground and disappearing.
When Hughes found Laxus in the valley, he was already unconscious, with several large scorch marks on his body.
Hughes stretched out his finger and probed the tip of his nose, then let out a long sigh of relief, his tension easing slightly.
"Thank goodness, he's still breathing!"
Hughes was somewhat relieved that Laxus had come with him on the mission; the guy was tough and could take a beating.
If it were Mira who had taken that Fire Fist from him, he'd probably be digging a hole right now, ready to lie down in it with Mira.
"Hey, Laxus, wake up!" Hughes reached out and shook him, trying to rouse him.
He remembered that Laxus had taken some medicine with him when he went out, but Hughes didn't know where Laxus had put it, nor did he know which medicine to give Laxus.
Medication shouldn't be taken indiscriminately; Hughes, as a mental patient himself, knew this all too well. Back then...
Cough, cough!
Shaked by Hughes, Laxus slowly regained consciousness.
Seeing this, Hughes gathered his thoughts, helped Laxus up, and then, with wide eyes and without batting an eye, asked with concern.
"Quick, see which medicines we need, I'll go get them; that bastard Gogirde, he actually attacked us and beat you up like this, I'll avenge you later!"
Laxus's eye twitched, and he looked at Hughes speechlessly; did this bastard think he hadn't heard him shout Fire Fist, or that he didn't recognize his flames?
However, he didn't blame Hughes for beating him up like that, because he hadn't held back either...
At this moment, Laxus also realized that he and Hughes must have been simultaneously affected by Gogirde's Illusion Magic.
Gogirde n't as stupid as they thought; they might have been exposed to him the moment they set foot on Alon Island!
"Hughes, open my package and take out the red and blue bottles."
This is a medicine specifically for treating burns and scalds, and for replenishing qi and blood.
Feeling a little embarrassed by Laxus, Hughes immediately crouched down and rummaged through the belongings. He had brought their packages with him when he flew over.
There's no need to go back again; it was an unexpected stroke of luck.
After taking the wound medicine, Laxus was in much better condition and was able to get up and walk independently.
"Don't worry, it's just a minor injury!" Laxus retorted defiantly to Hughes, wisps of lightning crackling in his hand.
Hughes's lips twitched. This guy was really good at pretending, but then again, he wouldn't be Laxus if he didn't.
At this moment, the two of them were on the edge of a village in the valley, and there was a house built by the islanders of Alon Island not far away.
Now that Gogirde knew their whereabouts, Hughes and Laxus stopped acting in secret and headed straight for the house to explore.
Hughes, who was walking in front, pushed the wooden door of the house with his large hand, and the door suddenly collapsed, leaving the house empty.
No... there shouldn't be any living person. There's a male corpse in his forties or fifties lying on the ground; like the corpse hanging at the entrance of the coconut grove, his eyes are bulging, and there are no obvious external injuries on his body. He was obviously scared to death as well.
Hughes glanced at them carefully; the two men must have died around the same time.
"Let's go check out the other rooms!"
The village was small, with only twenty or thirty households. The two explored it quickly, moving from one house to another, their faces growing increasingly gloomy.
There was no living person in the entire village.
What did they see?
The child lay alone on the bed, his hands tearing at his face, his eyes splitting open, dried tears of blood streaming from his eyes and down his cheeks.
The infant, whose eyes were not yet open, had limbs that were spasmed and bent, and a broken tongue inside its slightly closed mouth.
Laxus kicked a stone at his feet viciously, gritting his teeth. "That piece of trash, Gogirde, I'm going to kill him!"
He had dealt with countless dark guilds and dark mages, and had seen many wicked people, but he had never seen such vile trash as Gogirde before.
They can even lay a hand on infants and toddlers; they're utterly beasts.
Hughes raised his head with a frosty expression. "Let's go, we'll dig three feet into the ground, I'll find these bastards and skin them alive."
As soon as he finished speaking, a streak of dark light shot out from the ground and cleaved Hughes in two.
"Skin you bastards? You two greenhorns?" Gogirde suddenly appeared not far from the two and mocked.
The jet-black, hair-like object rotated slightly in his palm; it was this object that had cleaved Hughes in two.
Gogirde been in the village the whole time, but he had concealed himself with Illusion Magic, while casting a shallow illusion on Hughes and Laxus, making them ignore him.
Thinking he had already dealt with one enemy, Gogirde turned to Laxus, a sneer playing on his lips, "Kid, now you're all alone!"
Laxus glanced at him, too lazy to respond. If such a low-level move worked on Hughes, he would have already pinned Hughes down. He wouldn't let Hughes bully him like that.
With a raised hand, a bolt of golden lightning struck directly down from the top of Gogirde's head.
Gogirde out the Threads of Sin, infused it with magic, and waved it towards the sky, easily neutralizing Laxus's lightning.
Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Hughes still standing there, paused for a moment, then Satori: "Fire Element Magic! No wonder he's alright, but..."
Gogirde brandished the Threads of Sin in his hand. "Your head's not feeling well, is it!"
Their guild is called the Threads of Illusory Evil because "Illusion" refers to his Illusion Magic, and the last three characters of the guild name all refer to the Threads of Sin in his hands.
Anyone harmed by the Threads of Sin in his hands will suffer severe mental trauma.
