Wang Xun secretly built his strength while attracting the attention of Aizen and growing closer to Nanao and the Shiba family. During a World of the Living practicum, he revealed his power to kill a Menos Grande and survived Hasegawa’s attempt to murder him, leaving him to answer Yoruichi’s questions about the attack.
Wang Xun awakened his Shikai, strengthened his ties with Nanao and Kisuke Urahara, and prepared to protect his businesses from Tokinada Tsunayashiro. Urahara and Yoruichi began investigating possible Tsunayashiro involvement in secret soul experiments, while Wang Xun learned that Tokinada’s older cousin was entering the conflict.
After surviving an attack tied to his conflict with the Tsunayashiro Clan, Wang Xun chose to pursue strength by joining the Second Division’s Punishment Force. His first mission led to Amamiya Shin’s capture and a clash with Kaname Tōsen over custody of the prisoner.
After the confrontation with Tōsen, Wang Xun deepened his ties to the Fourth Division and Kidō Corps while helping Soi Fon develop Shunkō. His rapid progress drew attention from Unohana, Tessai, and Aizen as disappearances and attacks in Rukongai continued to raise suspicions.
Wang Xun survived Tokinada’s plot, left the Second Division after investigating the disappearances with Kisuke Urahara, and joined the Fourth Division under Unohana. During a Hollow rescue mission, he advanced his healing and Kendō while Unohana defeated a coordinated Hollow force, and Aizen erased the evidence of his role in the attacks.
Wang Xun balanced his Fourth Division duties with Urahara’s offer to investigate his Hollow power, then joined Aizen and Kiganjō on a mission to find missing Soul Reapers. He rescued Rangiku and returned with her to Seireitei, while Aizen began considering Wang Xun as a subject for his Hollowfication Experiment.
Wang Xun split off a Hollow clone, uncovered Aizen’s experiments with Urahara, and chose to infiltrate Aizen’s circle while pursuing greater power. As Aizen drew him into the Hōgyoku research, Rangiku recovered and prepared to become a Soul Reaper, while Central 46 moved to block Wang Xun’s Kidō training.
Wang Xun strengthened his Hollowfication and worked with Kisuke Urahara to gain Aizen’s trust while countering threats from the Tsunayashiro Clan. Aizen put him in charge of Garganta research, and Wang Xun sought to master the technique while planning to use his Adjuchas clone to approach the Hōgyoku.
Wang Xun’s Garganta research exposed the Wandenreich, drawing him into a dangerous contest between Aizen, Urahara, and the Quincy. After helping uncover and capture Loyd’s imposture, Wang Xun returned to his new duties in the Fourth Division and found signs that a Quincy arrow had killed a Third Seat.
Wang Xun helped Aizen frame Urahara and the Hollowfied captains, then rose to become Kenpachi and prepared Soul Society for war against the Wandenreich. During the invasion, he defeated several Sternritter and intercepted part of Yhwach’s Auswählen, leaving Yhwach to ask him to join the Quincy.
