A Land of Auspicious Feng Shui
"Martial uncle, I told you, you hopped too fast." Lin Yu spread his hands.
As expected of a cultivator. He'd knocked his family jewels and recovered after hopping around a couple of times.
"Hmph, I'm the one in pain. What are you all hurting for?"
Four Eyes snorted. Seeing the corpses behind him making the same movements, he was speechless and vented his frustration on them.
"Let's go. Turn around, and we'll keep hopping~..."
Four Eyes wasn't embarrassed in the slightest. Instead, he started playing around again.
"What an old rascal."
Seeing that Four Eyes had recovered, Lin Yu shook his head helplessly, hopped up, and continued on his way.
"Oh~, martial nephew, there's some fun to be had." They hadn't gone far when Four Eyes suddenly sniffed and spoke in a low voice.
"Martial uncle, what's so fun about this? Let's deal with it quickly and get moving." Lin Yu had sensed it too.
The fox spirit was so weak that she didn't even know to conceal her own fox stench. Lin Yu and Four Eyes had smelled her from a long way off.
"Eh~ that's where you don't understand. Don't forget to have fun while you work. When fun comes knocking, you have to see it through." Four Eyes continued on with a mischievous grin, waiting for the fish to take the bait.
Suddenly, as they passed a fork in the road, a strip of white silk flew down from above, wrapped around the last corpse, and tried to carry it away.
"I've been waiting for you for a long time."
Four Eyes, who had been waiting for some time, drew his ritual implement and gave chase. He grabbed the corpse and yanked it down.
"How dare you steal my corpse? I'll beat you till you're a moron, of course." Four Eyes recited his little rhyme to the fox spirit at an unhurried pace.
Seeing that she had lost the corpse, the fox spirit waved her white silk and flew down to fight Four Eyes.
Naturally, the fox spirit was no match for Four Eyes. After he had played with her for a while, her white silk ended up hacked into several pieces by his ritual implement.
Seeing that she couldn't beat him by force, the fox spirit made a great leap and shattered her excess clothing, leaving only a few small pieces to cover her modesty. She lay on the ground, shyly trying to seduce Four Eyes.
The fox spirit couldn't believe she wouldn't be able to seduce him. Once she had him, she would have a good time enjoying that tender-skinned little fellow over there.
"Come on~" The fox spirit coquettishly lifted the hem of her clothing, trying to entice Four Eyes.
Lin Yu found it painful to look at and couldn't bear to watch. In his eyes, it was just a big fox wearing human skin, calling, "Come on~ come on~"
Lin Yu was so disgusted he nearly threw up, but Four Eyes didn't have Lin Yu's Heavenly Eye. Although he hadn't been bewitched, how could an old rascal like him pass up a chance for fun?
"Wow, what do I do, Xiao Yu? He kissed me." Four Eyes clutched his chest and looked at Lin Yu in distress.
"Ew~ martial uncle, don't worry, I definitely won't peek." Lin Yu covered his eyes in disgust and turned his back. Four Eyes was playing too wildly. Although Lin Yu knew he was putting on an act, he still couldn't bear to watch.
"Hehe, then I'm going in, martial nephew. Beauty, here I come~." Four Eyes clutched his pounding heart and sidled over lecherously.
Just as the fox spirit revealed her true form and was about to strike Four Eyes, he had somehow replaced his glasses with a set of Five Emperor Coins.
Upon sensing a demon, the Five Emperor Coins unleashed their power.
The fox demon was instantly sent flying by a red light fired from the Five Emperor Coins. Seeing that even her bewitchment had no effect on the man before her, she tried to fly away.
"Trying to leave?" Four Eyes had just reached for the ritual implement on the ground to throw it.
Then he saw a flash of golden light strike first, killing the fox spirit.
Lin Yu withdrew the Heavenly Eye on his forehead and calmed the spiritual power surging inside him.
Seeing that his martial uncle had grown tired of playing, he had wanted to try out a new use for the Heavenly Eye that he had just comprehended. To his surprise, it worked quite well, though it consumed a bit too much spiritual power.
"So it was a fox spirit. No wonder it smelled so musky." Four Eyes ran over to the corpse and made a remark.
"Martial uncle, let me borrow your sword." Lin Yu ran over, took Four Eyes' ritual implement, and went to desecrate the corpse.
"Wow~ martial nephew, I never knew you had this hobby." Watching Lin Yu poke his sword into the corpse again and again, Four Eyes made a remark.
"Found it." Lin Yu dug a demon core out of the corpse.
"Tch, I wondered what you were looking for. What do you want a demon core with twenty years of cultivation for?" Four Eyes glanced at it and spoke disdainfully.
The spiritual power in this little demon's core was utterly impure and full of resentful Qi and baleful Qi. Refining a demon core like that was slower than cultivating on your own, so what use was it?
"Martial uncle, you wouldn't understand even if I told you." Lin Yu happily put the demon core away. That was another sum of points in the account.
"Tch." Four Eyes disdainfully took back his sword. Smelling the fishy musk on it, he frowned.
"Ew~ it really stinks."
"Martial uncle, why is yours a bronze sword? My master's swords are all wooden." Lin Yu was now curious why Four Eyes alone carried a bronze sword on his back.
Everything he had read in books said peach wood belonged to yang. Shouldn't it be more convenient for killing ghosts?
"What do you know? Corpse herders don't just deal with ghosts and monsters. There are people too. If you run into bandits on the road, are you going to take a wooden sword and trade blows with them?"
Four Eyes wiped his bronze sword with care and sniffed it to see if it still smelled.
"Besides, this is the Longquan Treasure Sword my master gave me." Four Eyes raised the sword and showed it off.
"Is it one of the ten famous swords?" Lin Yu stared at the sword in shock.
"It's a replica," Four Eyes said calmly.
"Tch." Lin Yu was instantly speechless. He had gotten excited for nothing.
"Oh no, my big brothers!" Only now, after he'd had enough fun, did Four Eyes remember that his customers were gone. He hurried back to find them.
"Oh no, a mess, a mess, it's all a mess." Four Eyes looked at the corpses running around everywhere with distress. Every bump and scrape would cost him money.
"Martial uncle, that's what you get for playing around." Despite what he said, Lin Yu still helped him get the corpses under control.
After some effort, the two finally got everything in order and continued leading the corpses on their way.
"Martial uncle, why do you think that fox spirit stole corpses?" Lin Yu could never understand why these demons always came to steal corpse herders' corpses.
"Why worry so much? They take them to cultivate or do bad things." Four Eyes had encountered it often and knew a little about it.
Generally, the corpses handled by corpse herders like them had been refined using special methods, and demons liked to take them for cultivation.
But that fox spirit definitely wasn't going to do anything good with one.
"Martial uncle, do you think that fox spirit might have a whole host of aunts and great-great-grandmothers, like in the books?"
Lin Yu wondered whether these demons lived in groups. Surely they wouldn't come for revenge?
"Don't worry. Just ahead is my cultivation ground. Your grandmaster is watching over it, so ordinary demons from the mountains and wilds really wouldn't dare come here and run wild."
"Besides, how could a fox demon reduced to stealing corpses have a clan?"
Four Eyes thought Lin Yu was afraid the fox spirit would take revenge, so he reassured him.
The night passed, and as dawn approached, the two finally reached their destination.
Standing on the hilltop, they looked at the basin ahead, felt the rich spiritual power within it, and breathed in the mountain air, feeling refreshed from the inside out.
He had to admit, the cultivation ground his martial uncle had found was truly beyond reproach.
Surrounded by mountains on all sides, it had its back to the south and faced north. The mountain peaks opened to the east and west, giving it ample sunlight throughout the day and allowing air to circulate.
The more Lin Yu looked, the more he felt it was a superb land of auspicious feng shui. Being buried here after death would be truly comfortable.
"Well? My place isn't bad, is it? Much better than your master's shabby morgue." Four Eyes spoke proudly of his cultivation ground.
"Mhm, very good." Lin Yu applied the feng shui and physiognomy he had learned to take a look, and it really was good.
"Favorable winds and suitable waters, ventilation from east to west, the Golden Crow shines on the mountains, and a treasure basin gathers wealth. A superb land of auspicious feng shui."
"Oh, come on~ can't you learn something good from your master?" Four Eyes stumbled as he listened and shot Lin Yu an annoyed look.
Back then, the older one had said the same thing when he came, and now the younger one was saying it too. Four Eyes was beginning to wonder whether it was really true.
