Death Again
After Abigail had pulled him along for a while, Xiahou couldn't help asking, "Have you been here before? And do you know where Blade's being held? Don't you need to check first?"
Abigail glanced at him and answered quietly, "We investigated this place before, and there are only a few interrogation rooms. We can just look through them. Don't talk or draw attention. Just follow me!"
Xiahou had no choice but to follow, muttering under his breath, "All right! You guys are amazing! Happy now?"
After being led on a long detour, they arrived outside a room. Abigail motioned for Xiahou to be quiet, then carefully turned the doorknob.
The room was a surveillance room, where two white men sat staring at a large bank of screens. The screens showed surveillance footage of important corridors and rooms. In one room, Blade was strapped to an interrogation chair, with a group of people surrounding him.
Abigail crept up and knocked both men out with a chop to each of their necks. She then began smashing the computer equipment and looked back at Xiahou. "Come help!"
Xiahou stepped forward, grumbling, "You've practically finished it yourself. What do you need me for? To watch?"
As he spoke, he began smashing the computers and servers too.
After destroying the equipment, Abigail led him toward the interrogation room where Blade was being held.
Meanwhile, Hannibal had already snuck up to the interrogation room door. After quietly knocking out the guard outside, he entered the observation room.
The vampire inside didn't even turn his head. "Didn't I tell you not to come in?"
Hannibal didn't reply. He walked up, slashed him with a blade, and kicked him into the one-way glass. The vampire shattered the glass and turned to ash, vanishing completely in midair.
Hannibal then jumped in himself and taunted the four vampires inside. "Good evening, ladies!"
Danica Talos, the vampire leader and Hannibal's ex-girlfriend and former master, flew into a rage the moment she saw him. "King Hannibal~~~ How dare you show your face in front of me again?"
Hannibal ignored him, casually turned a vampire to ash, and put the suppressant serum straight into Blade's mouth. "Hey! Blade, wake up! You're saved!"
At the same time, he attacked the vampire on his right, but the vampire blocked him with the interrogation table. Behind Hannibal, Danica was just about to ambush him, but he reacted quickly and fired two shots back at her, forcing her to retreat. Just then, the burliest vampire charged forward and slammed him against the wall, knocking the handgun from his grasp.
The vampire who had blocked Hannibal's attack with the interrogation table saw him pinned against the wall and moved in to attack as well. But as he passed Blade, Blade, who had recovered a little, kicked him straight to the floor.
Under the effects of the suppressant serum, Blade had already begun regaining his strength and snapped the shackles binding him. Seeing that things were going badly, Danica slipped away through the observation room window.
The vampire Blade had kicked to the floor saw that his boss had run away. How could he not follow? He slipped away after her, leaving the burly vampire behind, still completely unaware. (So they just sold me out like that?)
The burly vampire was still gripping Hannibal by the throat and holding him against the wall. He wore a mocking smile, seemingly in response to Hannibal calling them "ladies" earlier, as if to say, Let's see who's the lady now!
He hadn't noticed that Blade had fully recovered behind him and was looking at him.
He bared his metal teeth, preparing to bite the bitch who had mocked him to death. But Blade walked over and punched him hard. He looked back. Holy crap, why is it Blade? He looked around and saw he was the only one left!
Blade didn't care whether he was stunned or not. He immediately landed a spinning kick that sent him flying through the interrogation room wall and crashing into the corridor. The burly vampire looked around. Holy crap, I'm out! Time to run!
Blade paid him no attention. After checking that Hannibal was all right and telling him to leave first, he turned and walked toward his pile of equipment.
Hannibal didn't hesitate. He left through the observation room, hoping to see if he could still catch up to Danica.
After looking around and failing to find her, with alarms blaring everywhere and LAPD and FBI personnel all over the place, he had no choice but to return and regroup with Blade, Abigail, and the others.
By now, Xiahou had followed Abigail to the floor with the interrogation room, but it was already in chaos, with gunfire erupting everywhere. Abigail charged straight in and started throwing punches at the LAPD and FBI personnel, knocking several of them down in an instant.
Watching the scene, Xiahou felt his adrenaline surge. He grabbed a passing LAPD officer and aimed a punch at his head. After a soft thud, he felt his hand start to swell!
The LAPD officer looked at him and thought, Is this guy an idiot? I've got this huge helmet on, and he just walks up and punches it? Bro, are you really that brave?
Seeing that his fist was useless, Xiahou kicked him in the chest, sending him flying. When he saw the man trying to get up again, he went over and kicked him several more times. At that moment, the simplest way to knock someone out began to appear in his mind.
Following the method in his head, Xiahou kicked the LAPD officer in the back of the neck, knocking him out instantly.
Xiahou was still ranting furiously in his mind. What kind of lousy game is this? Couldn't it just let me learn it with one click and use it right away? What's the point of only giving me the knowledge? I have to practice on my own in a game!
Blade and the other two had already knocked a crowd of people to the floor. Seeing that Abigail and Xiahou had arrived too, Hannibal called out, "Whistler!" to alert her to his location.
Blade froze. That was his adoptive father's and mentor's name. He immediately turned to look at them.
When Abigail saw them, she said, "Follow me. We can't waste time here." With that, she turned and left.
But Xiahou suddenly grabbed her. "I remember the vampires seemed to go get weapons and prepare to come back and block your way out. More LAPD officers are coming too. Should we take another route?"
But Abigail said, "This is the only way out. There isn't another one! Come on!"
Xiahou was instantly dumbstruck, but he had no choice but to follow, taking out Blue Rose as he went. He didn't forget to warn the others. "You'd better get your weapons ready. They probably won't hold back anymore."
The others took out their weapons after hearing him. Hannibal also tossed Blade a handgun, but Blade was staring intently at the revolver in Xiahou's hand.
Seeing Blade staring at his revolver, Xiahou quietly hid the gun behind his back. "Don't think I'll give it to you just because you're staring at it! Don't even think about it!"
When they reached a corner at a T-junction, the right side was already packed with LAPD officers, who prepared to open fire when they saw them. A group of vampires also rushed out on the left and fired at them without the slightest hesitation. The group had to retreat, but the LAPD officers and vampires began exchanging fire.
Xiahou saw health bars appear above the heads of the people on both sides. Are they only being classified as hostile now? Then I won't hold back.
He pointed his gun toward the vampires and unleashed a burst of American iaido. The two vampires he hit immediately turned to ash and began to dissipate. Seeing this, the LAPD officers fired their guns with even greater vigor.
After seeing the revolver's power, Blade wanted it even more, especially since the crappy little gun in his hand was no good at all. Then he remembered that his sword had been taken away and he still hadn't gotten it back. He looked around, then jumped up into a ventilation duct and left.
Seeing Blade leave on his own, Hannibal immediately lost his composure and shouted, "Hey! We came to save you, and you're just leaving on your own?"
But he got no response, so he gave Blade a friendly gesture and cursed, "Fuck you!"
Seeing that the vampires had started to run, Xiahou said to the others, "Run down the vampires' side. I'll cover you!"
Abigail said, "What about you?"
Xiahou said, "I'll be fine. This gun has unlimited ammo. I can lay down suppressive fire on my own! And even if I die, I'll respawn! I'm a player!"
As Xiahou spoke, he poked his head out and began firing at the LAPD officers. Every time he fired six bullets, he flicked the gun, popped out the cylinder, and continued shooting. Blue Rose's bullets were already as powerful as a Barrett's, and the LAPD officers were instantly too afraid to show their heads. Three of them were hit, and half of each man's body vanished in an instant.
Hannibal grabbed Abigail and left. When they reached the end of the corridor, he shouted to Xiahou, "Come on! We'll cover you!"
Hearing him, Xiahou began backing away while firing. But because he was walking backward, he didn't notice a submachine gun left on the floor and tripped over it. Hannibal and Abigail's handguns were nowhere near as powerful as his.
The LAPD officers saw the firepower weaken, especially when the tremendously powerful gun stopped firing. They immediately leaned out and opened fire, hitting the fallen Xiahou five or six times.
Abigail immediately wanted to rush out and pull him over, but Hannibal stopped her. Xiahou looked at the bullet holes in his body and thought, Am I going to die again?
Seeing Abigail trying to come over, he said, "Go! I'll respawn."
With that, he continued firing at the LAPD officers from the floor, but his hand was growing weaker and weaker, and he felt he could barely hold the gun anymore.
Tears streamed uncontrollably down Abigail's face. Hannibal took her hand and led her away, saying quietly, "Don't waste his kindness. And believe him. Maybe he really can respawn!"
After the two left, Xiahou lost the last of his strength and once again dissolved into motes of light. The LAPD officers watching thought they were hallucinating. At least vampires left a pile of ash when they died. When Xiahou died, not a trace remained. Even the blood he had shed turned into motes of light and vanished!
