Seeing that the vampires had stopped shooting, Xiahou stuck the Blue Rose out from around the corner again. Six shots rang out in quick succession, and six more vampires turned to ash.

The vampires saw this and thought, Oh, you dare shoot back? They unleashed another furious barrage, but all they could do was leave the wall covered in bullet holes and debris.

Xiahou had already pulled his hand back and was secretly pleased with himself.

Shoot and run. This is fucking thrilling. As the gunfire died down, he was about to sneak in another round of shots.

But the moment he stuck the muzzle out, he heard another burst of continuous gunfire and hurriedly pulled his pistol back in fright.

The vampires had learned their lesson. Some stayed behind, aiming their guns at the corner by the stairwell, while the others continued charging up.

Seeing that he could no longer suppress them from a distance, Xiahou silently tucked the Blue Rose back into his waistband. At the same time, the Red Queen appeared in his hand.

He also said to himself, If you won't let me fight at range, then let's fight up close! This is a good chance to test the sword techniques I learned from Siegfried.

Holding the greatsword, he stood at the corner by the stairwell and quietly waited for the vampires to arrive.

The seconds ticked by, and his heartbeat gradually quickened. At last, faint footsteps came from around the corner. He immediately focused, listening carefully to their direction and rhythm as he estimated the enemy's position.

Just as he was concentrating, the first vampire suddenly charged around the corner, moving as fast as lightning. But Xiahou was ready. His reaction was just as swift as lightning, and in an instant, a huge sword appeared at the vampire's neck.

The greatsword was incomparably sharp, slicing through the first vampire's neck without resistance as sparks flew. Its momentum undiminished, it swept onward like the Grim Reaper's scythe, mercilessly reaping the lives of the two vampires behind him.

In the blink of an eye, three vampires had turned to ash. Xiahou charged straight out without hesitation. Although the greatsword's momentum had been spent, he deftly turned it into an upward diagonal slash.

The move caught the vampires behind them completely off guard, and they were struck one after another by the sudden attack. Once again, the greatsword mercilessly cut through their bodies, turning them to ash that scattered through the air.

Xiahou silently reflected that this was one good thing about vampires: when killed by a weapon they were vulnerable to, they burned up and turned straight to ash. They didn't leave a bloody, nauseating mess.

By now, the vampires' guns had become useless because their comrades completely blocked their angles of fire. Even when the occasional bullet got through, Xiahou deftly used nearby vampires as cover, easily blocking the shots.

As he killed more and more vampires, Xiahou also understood why people in Marvel liked fighting hand-to-hand so much.

Sometimes weapons like guns weren't all that useful. Especially in close combat, landing blows with one's fists or using various melee weapons was noticeably more effective.

In less than a minute, he had already killed over a hundred vampires! He would have struggled to be this efficient with the Blue Rose; at the very least, its rate of fire limited it.

The vampires kept charging up in an endless stream. Although Xiahou's enhanced body couldn't let him fight all day like Captain America, he could go on fighting for several more hours without any problem at all.

Elsewhere, Hannibal and Abigail had also been separated by the vampires. Although Xiahou had stopped the vampires on the stairs, the elevators could still bring up an endless stream of others.

Hannibal now only regretted not bringing a few grenades to blow up the elevators. The weapons he had brought were all meant for fighting vampires; he had no powerful explosives at all.

Abigail, too, was locked in close combat with the vampires, a hidden blade in one hand and an ultraviolet light blade in the other. The pressure was mounting, and she felt she wouldn't be able to hold out much longer.

Danica watched the fight from a distance, ordering her underlings to keep charging in and gang up on them while she mocked Hannibal. "King Hannibal! Aren't you supposed to be so tough? I'm standing right here. Come over and kill me!"

Hearing her, Hannibal took a moment to give her the middle finger and shot back, "Danica, you *****! Once I've dealt with your underlings, I'll come over there myself and pull out every last tooth in your ***** down there! Then I'll stuff an ultraviolet grenade inside and let you experience a pleasure you've never felt before!"

With that, he pulled out a glass ball and smashed it on the floor.

The vampires around him immediately began coughing, thin wisps of flame spewing from their mouths as cracks appeared around their lips.

The glass ball Hannibal had thrown to the floor had been filled with silver powder. Although it couldn't directly kill the vampires who inhaled it, it could severely hamper them.

Seeing this, Danica hurriedly covered her mouth and nose and retreated some distance before speaking again. "Are petty tricks like this all you know?"

Hannibal replied, "These aren't petty tricks. It's called tactics. Besides, aren't you relying on superior numbers yourselves?"

At the same time, he pulled out two more glass balls and threw them toward the place where the vampires had gathered and the area around Abigail, easing the pressure on her as well.

He also began moving toward Xiahou, intending to free him up too. There were too many vampires; it would be better to capture the ringleader.

Meanwhile, Blade and Drake were enthusiastically hacking at each other in front of an enormous floor-to-ceiling window, chatting as they fought.

Unlike the others' fierce battles, the two of them seemed like old friends who hadn't seen each other in years, sparring and discussing their beliefs after meeting again.

As Drake swung his blade, he asked Blade, "Why must you make enemies of us to protect humans?! You're a vampire too! They're just food!"

As Blade blocked, he retorted, "I'm human too! Humans raised me, and they're not food! You're the ones who keep harming them to satisfy your own selfish desires! Just like you, a man who thinks he's a god!"

With that, he launched an even fiercer attack on Drake. The special alloy longsword in his hand, which contained silver, inflicted wound after wound on Drake's body, but they healed completely in an instant.

"You can't kill me. I'm immortal! It's not too late to join me!" Drake continued trying to win Blade over.

Blade was unmoved and continued his fierce assault, but inwardly he was growing anxious. Why haven't Xiahou and the others brought Daystar over yet? Drake's immortality is too damn unfair. There's just no killing him!
