Revive King Kai, Grow a Tail!

Darkness enveloped the sky for a hundred li around. The next second, brilliant golden pillars of light burst from the seven Dragon Balls and shot straight into the heavens.

The light gathered into Shenron's body, revealing him to everyone. The dragon's might he released unseen made the surrounding atmosphere unusually oppressive.

"You who have gathered the seven Dragon Balls, speak your wishes. Whatever they may be, I can grant three of them." Having just appeared, Shenron delivered his classic line with an imposing air.

The moment Shenron appeared, King Kai, far away on King Kai's Planet in the Other World, could hardly contain his excitement.

Meanwhile, Son Goku gazed at Shenron soaring across the sky and fell into thought.

In his world, the Shadow Dragons had appeared because he and the others had been too greedy, using the Dragon Balls without restraint.

After making these wishes, he would not use the Dragon Balls again unless he had no other choice.

"Shenron, for my first wish, please revive King Kai, Bubbles, and Gregory," Son Goku said, looking up at Shenron.

"Is that your first wish? Understood." Scarlet light flared in Shenron's eyes as an unseen power was released.

Under Shenron's will, the mysterious power spread rapidly from this world to the realm of the dead, finally reaching King Kai's Planet.

The halos above King Kai, Gregory, and Bubbles, who were on King Kai's Planet, vanished at the same time.

They returned from death to life.

"Finally... I've finally lived to see this day!" A relieved smile appeared on King Kai's face.

For so many years, his fellow King Kais had mocked him for being dead. That would never happen again.

Ever since Cell, whom Son Goku had brought to him, had blown him up, the halo above his head had made him a laughingstock among the King Kais. He often heard those old fellows making fun of him for dying.

Now that he had been revived, the other King Kais would no longer make fun of him.

In fact, as a King Kai, if he had wanted to be revived, all he had needed to do was contact the Grand Elder of Planet Namek and use their Dragon Balls to wish himself back to life.

But precisely because he was a King Kai, he could not bring himself to do it without losing face.

As for King Kai's pets, Bubbles and Gregory did not care much about being revived.

"Since your wishes have been granted, Son, it's my turn next." Bulma looked up at Shenron and continued, "Shenron, my wish is..."

"Bulma, let me have the third wish." Vegeta suddenly cut in, interrupting Bulma's wish.

Bulma turned to Vegeta in confusion. What wish did he want granted?

"Let me have this wish," Vegeta said firmly.

"I'm the one who collected the Dragon Balls. Son used two wishes, and now you want one too, Vegeta... Forget it... Fine, it's yours." Bulma pouted, looking very unhappy.

Unhappy as she was, Vegeta was her husband.

She had missed her chance this time, but next year, once the Dragon Balls were no longer stone, she would gather them all right away and make her own wish.

Seeing that Bulma had given him the third wish, Vegeta did not get angry.

After Shenron left, a smile appeared on Vegeta's face, and he turned his gaze to Son Goku.

"I finally understand why you wished for Shenron to make your tail grow back, Kakarot."

"After my tail grew back, my power increased considerably."

"It won't be so easy to surpass me completely, Kakarot."

The smug look in Vegeta's eyes seemed to tell Son Goku that his little trick couldn't fool him.

"I never intended to hide it from you in the first place, Vegeta..."

"But you're wrong about one thing. A tail does more than just increase your strength." A smile appeared on Son Goku's face. After leaving him with those mysterious words, he placed two fingers of his right hand against his forehead and added, "See you, Vegeta, Bulma."

As soon as he finished speaking, Son Goku used Instant Transmission again and vanished without a trace.
