Background / History
Tang San's previous life was as an outer disciple of the Tang Sect in the Shu Region. He secretly learned the sect's Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record, was pursued by its elders, and leapt from Ghost's Worry Cliff. His soul was subsequently guided to Douluo Continent by the Asura God, where it replaced Tang Hao and Ah Yin's newborn child. 283 420 819
At Nuoding Academy, Tang San cultivated Blue Silver Grass and became possessive of Xiao Wu. Seeing her close to Lan Hong, he challenged Lan Hong to a duel. Despite using Blue Silver Binding, Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track, and Purple Demon Eye, he was defeated; his poisoned Sleeve Arrow was deflected and struck Yu Xiaogang instead. 7
Tang Hao later revealed his identity as a Titled Douluo and charged Tang San with avenging both him and the Clear Sky Sect against Spirit Hall. Tang San then learned Xiao Wu's identity as a Hundred Thousand Year Spirit Beast Transformation, broke through to level 30, and obtained his third Spirit Ring. 50
Lan Hong and Ah Yin later removed Tang San's Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, crippling his Twin Martial Soul foundation. Tang San subsequently focused on the Clear Sky Hammer, received extensive resources and two Ten Thousand Year Soul Bones from Tang Xiao, and developed a lasting hatred for Lan Hong, Ah Yin, and Xiao Wu. 148
Appearance
Tang San is associated with blue hair and Sea God–themed divine attire, though his appearance shifts markedly with his power and incarnations. On the Dou Qi Continent, he wears extravagant clothing and his hair turns blood-red when he exerts himself under pressure. 593
- In his Asura Gem–enhanced state, his skin becomes blood-red and cracked, horns grow from his head, and bat-like wings emerge from his back. 324
- His Sea God's Eight Wings are the evolved form of his Eight Spider Lances. 302
- He wields sea-blue Sea God Divine Power in Sea God form and blood-red Asura Divine Power in Asura form. 303
Personality
Tang San is intelligent, ambitious, and highly strategic. He plans far ahead, including the Ten-Thousand Year Plan for the Douluo Continent, and is capable of withdrawing from unwinnable battles to gather strength and return later. 364 409
His strategic ability is coupled with jealousy, possessiveness, and a strong need to control events and people around him. His early hostility toward Lan Hong stemmed from Xiao Wu's closeness to Lan Hong, while his later actions include using Tang Wutong's soul and the Three-Eyed Golden Lion's Power of Destiny for his own designs. 7 258
Tang San often presents himself as righteous and composed, but becomes enraged when his motives or history are exposed. When cornered, he resorts to increasingly desperate measures, including weapon detonation, self-destruction, bloodline burning, and attempts to seize greater power. 302 409 435 807
