The Changed Room
Call!!!
Chu Tianshu's appearance in the living room startled the air currents.
A little dust was blown up from the sofa and tabletop.
The bright sunlight outside the window made the dust motes in the air seem even more prominent.
"I'm back!"
As soon as Chu Tianshu arrived home, he relaxed completely. He wanted to sit down immediately, but noticing the dust, he had to move two steps back first.
It's normal for the house to be dusty after being away for two months.
He immediately summoned the token.
The Fortune Bar wasn't completely cleared; a tiny bit remained.
Chu Tianshu placed the gold bars in his hand on the table; all ten were there, not one missing.
He used the last of his time to memorize the two secret manuals a couple of days ago.
If we only consider the value of tangible items to take with us, then leaving the manual behind after memorizing it would obviously save us some money.
When he returned, he not only brought back ten gold bars, but also Iron Curse Copper Rope for his hands and a soft armor made of gold silk.
Looking back now, it seems we could have brought even more.
Chu Tianshu focused his mind and touched the Fortune Bar again, opening a new page.
In addition to the previous annotations, there is now an extra icon on this small page.
It resembles a coiled dragon, or a leaf with particularly prominent veins, bent into a ring.
A thought naturally came to mind.
This is the symbol of the Republic of China era, which is currently dim and cannot be re-entered, but may be rekindled in the future if certain conditions are met.
"There really is a chance to go back again!"
Chu Tianshu calmed down.
Although I had some guesses before, I wasn't sure at all, but now I feel a bit more certain.
But to relight it, it seems that it's not simply a matter of Fortune, and we don't know what conditions are needed.
As Chu Tianshu pondered, he tapped his fingernails on the gold bar, hearing a crisp sound, and his gaze involuntarily turned to it.
Going directly to sell gold bars would definitely be a bit troublesome; we can mold them into the shape of bracelets later.
If you need to exchange it for cash later, just say it's an heirloom.
"Hey, I don't need to buy medicine every month anymore. With that card Boss Li gave me last time, I'm pretty financially secure..."
Chu Tianshu looked at the ten gold bars, another matter came to mind.
As for the gold, I might as well leave it at home. It's quite pleasing to the eye. When I have some free time, I'll carve some nice shapes out of it.
Chu Tianshu was in high spirits. He put the gold in his bedroom cabinet, opened all the windows, and then went downstairs to open the front and back doors to let in fresh air.
In front of his house was a cement field with vegetable gardens on both sides, and a small bridge and a stream in front of it.
As soon as the door opened, someone shouted from outside the bridge.
"Tianshu?"
The man, dressed in a blue Zhongshan suit and wearing a matching baseball cap, with a white beard and a rather tall stature, walked over, looking both surprised and delighted.
Chu Tianshu greeted him, "Second Grandfather."
This was his grandfather's brother, who lived at the end of the village. He was one of the few people who, under his grandfather's guidance, had entered the realm of spiritual communication.
Although he successfully communicated with spirits, he became increasingly sleepy when listening to about medicinal herbs and could not learn the skills of witch doctors. When he went out to make his way in the world, somehow he learned a lot of feng shui skills and became quite famous in certain circles.
"It really is you! Where have you been?"
As soon as Second Master Chu came up, he grabbed Chu Tianshu's shoulders and looked him over from left to right, as if afraid that he might be injured somewhere.
"It's been a month already, where have you been? You haven't told anyone, and your phone is still at home. I was so worried, I even reported you missing."
"Even the Baisui came to check, but there's still no clue."
Chu Tianshu was taken aback.
Wait, a month!
Do time flow differently in the two worlds? Two months have already passed over there.
Wait a minute, a missing person case?!
"I..."
Chu Tianshu's mind raced, and he made a decision. "I found a strange fish in the harbor the other day; it looks a lot like a Spirit Realm Henggong Fish."
"It is said that boiling dried plums will cause death, while eating them can ward off evil spirits, which is exactly what I need to cure my illness."
"Second Grandfather, you know how difficult my illness was to treat. In a moment of impulse, I immediately inserted a silver needle, then used magic to locate the source, called a taxi, and chased after it all the way from Hailing to Jiangning, even into the mountains."
Jiangning County is similar to Hailing, about two hours apart by car, but the terrain is completely different.
There are more than 400 hills of varying sizes in this county.
"I've been tracking it in the mountains for days, and my hard work finally paid off; I caught that fish!"
Chu Tianshu smiled genuinely, "My illness is much better now."
Second Master Chu exclaimed in surprise, "So that's how it is."
"I've also heard from Baisui that these days, Overflow Zone are frequently occurring, and besides ghosts and monsters, native species from the Spirit Realm are more likely to come into the real world."
Second Master Chu laughed and said, "It seems this isn't all bad news. Is your illness really cured?"
Chu Tianshu said, "Not completely healed, but much better. By the way, what's the deal with the missing persons case?"
"I take walks outside the river every day, but I haven't seen you for several days. I asked the neighbors, but they said they hadn't seen you either. I called you, but you didn't answer. I went to your house and knocked on the door, but you weren't there. The house was covered in dust."
Second Master Chu sighed deeply.
He almost thought that Chu Tianshu had fallen ill and died at home.
"I had no choice but to report it to the local police station and also tell Baisui."
Chu Tianshu suddenly realized, "I think I left my phone on the table before I left. Could it have been taken to the station?"
Second Master Chu said, "Without other clues, of course we need to check your phone's recent contacts. But after they went around, they only took a phone. The director is your Grandpa Lin; he took it himself."
As he spoke, Second Master Chu took out his phone.
"I'll give him a call and drop the case so I can get your phone back."
Chief Lin had dealings with his grandfather.
It's said that, if you look closely, Chief Lin and the Brother Baisui are actually related.
That's how it is in the countryside; people who have lived in the same place for generations can basically be related by blood.
But relatives and elders are even more troublesome, so Chu Tianshu became more wary.
Fortunately, his original phone malfunctioned before he left, so he got a new one, which only contained messages from his conversation with the Brother Baisui.
Otherwise, there will always be some private information on your phone that gets exposed to relatives and elders...
Next time your Fortune Bar is about to be full, remember to prepare and deal with it before going to another world.
Chu Tianshu pondered these things, coughed lightly, and glanced unintentionally at his home.
Grandpa's bedroom is in the southeast corner of the first floor.
Since his grandfather passed away, he often goes to that room, draws back the curtains, and lets the sunlight in.
Before I left last time, the curtains weren't closed, so now I can see the room from outside.
With just one glance, Chu Tianshu's brows furrowed.
"Second Grandpa, did you go into my grandpa's room?"
Second Master Chu was on the phone. "No, you can see from outside the window that there's no one inside. Why would I go in?"
He took two steps closer and asked warily, "Is something wrong?"
"Old Lin, when you brought your men over that day, I remember you didn't go into Old Chu's room, right?"
The voice on the phone replied, "Definitely not."
Chief Lin's voice was deep and full of energy.
"What's wrong? Did we run into a burglar?"
