Classic San Francisco
The white wings sliced across the blue sky, landing smoothly, gradually slowing down until it came to a stop.
Chu Tianshu and the others walked out of the cabin one after another.
Even while still at the airport, one can already see the tall buildings of the city in the distance.
Many of the high-rise buildings look quite old, exuding a style that is very different from modern design.
San Francisco, a classic city.
Chu Tianshu used to have a bad temper and often read miscellaneous books to cultivate his mind. In many literary works, whenever Americas is involved, San Francisco always appears frequently.
Later, this special status was given to New York.
Once everyone arrives in Americas, they usually head straight to New York.
This time, Jon and his team brought in reinforcements, and they settled in San Francisco.
In this country, San Francisco remains the second most densely populated city to date, and its residents come from the most diverse backgrounds, making it arguably the most diverse city in the world. During the height of the gold rush in the last century, it was a place that attracted global attention and aspired to be a popular destination.
Many have settled here permanently, while others have seized the opportunity to become wealthy.
Silicon Valley, one of the world's leading technology hubs, lies just south of San Francisco.
Within the Silicon Valley area, the number of companies related to the computer industry has grown to over a thousand.
The North America Audit Bureau, responsible for paranormal security, has always been supported and courted by these wealthy individuals, and should have deployed many skilled agents in a city like San Francisco.
Unfortunately, when a large Overflow Zone occurred in New York, the San Francisco Audit Bureau also experienced internal strife.
Many key local members were almost sacrificed by their colleagues.
Afterwards, in order to maintain a cautious attitude, Victor sent people from New York to conduct an internal investigation. However, their attitude was very poor, leading to the resignation of many operators.
As they walked through the airport, the conversation turned to this topic.
Jon and others accompanied them directly from the airport. The local welcoming team, at Jon's mere glance, obediently followed behind without uttering a word.
Alexis had interacted with Chen Taozhi and others before, so they got along quite well.
"Therefore, the core personnel of the San Francisco Audit Bureau are now in only three states: those who died in action, those who defected, and those who resigned and were recruited privately."
"None of them are still with the Audit Bureau."
Alexis spoke of this matter, there was inevitably some resentment in his tone.
With the local Audit Bureau vacant, they naturally had to send someone to fill the vacancy, and Alexis was the unlucky guy.
Fortunately, Victor's methods were strong enough to win over a large group of people and get the proposal to go abroad to find foreign aid approved.
Just then, a heavy hum came from the airport runway again, and a transport plane landed.
Alexis turned his head, a hint of envy flashing in his eyes, and said, "Captain Chen, your car has arrived."
Chen Taozhi made a hand gesture, and the team members moved closer to the transport plane.
The commando team's vehicles are all armed armor; we need to be extra vigilant this time in the Americas.
We must not let Evil Spirit harm us, nor let malicious people steal our armor.
Chu Tianshu watched this scene and chuckled inwardly.
As far as he knew, the research institute had already attempted to upgrade armor technology using the Curse Ore technology developed by the Fangfeng Clan of the Spirit Realm.
Even if this batch of armored vehicles belonging to the commando team was damaged and lost, it would take North America time to reverse engineer it, by which time China would probably have already upgraded its equipment.
Moreover, if North America were to actually copy this type of armor, it would face domestic restrictions on the supply of key materials.
Hey! The old folks are very shrewd. That's why they sent a commando team with them for this transoceanic aid mission, instead of sending other people to run errands for Chu Tianshu.
These thoughts raced through Chu Tianshu's mind as his gaze fell upon Jon.
Since returning to Americas, Jon's aura has undergone a subtle change.
In addition, many members of the welcoming team sent to the airport in San Francisco carried a flag.
These flags vaguely resemble magical artifacts, especially one of them, which perfectly matches Jon's aura, clearly indicating that he personally refined it.
Jon noticed Chu Tianshu's gaze, smiled, and was about to say something when he suddenly caught a glimpse of the situation inside the airport building out of the corner of his eye, and his expression darkened slightly.
Chu Tianshu also saw a large crowd of people pouring into the airport building.
The two men leading the group included an elderly white man with platinum blonde hair, wearing a light blue shirt and white suit trousers, who was all smiles and quite amiable, and was carrying a cane.
The other man had gray hair and yellow skin, a round face and a red nose. He was in his fifties and was wearing a long-sleeved gown with a centipede-patterned button, made of royal blue fabric that looked quite expensive. He had a black belt around his waist and was holding a yellow wooden cane.
"It's Anthony and Tang Rongfa."
Alexis made a face as if he were having a toothache, and whispered a reminder, "Mr. Chu, there's a non-governmental organization in San Francisco called the Exorcists' Rights Protection Association."
"Anthony was a lawyer in his early years, and now he's the president of this association. His family also recruits the most retired employees from the Audit Bureau."
"Tang Rongfa is a lifetime member and the most famous monk in San Francisco's Chinatown."
Alexis didn't say some things directly.
Tang Rongfa's usual status and position should be lower than Anthony's, but seeing their team coming this time, Anthony seemed to be intentionally letting Tang Rongfa the lead.
It was obvious that they had found out some information about Chu Tianshu and the others, and then approached Tang Rongfa build a relationship.
Jon couldn't help but let out a cold snort.
North America is vast, but the number of people who reach the upper echelons is limited, and you can generally become a familiar face to most of them.
Jon and Anthony have a long-standing feud. Anthony has used the pretext of protecting exorcists' rights to challenge the Audit Bureau and the military more than once.
If Victor hadn't persuaded him, Jon would have already sought an opportunity to fight Anthony.
"Hahaha, Divine Doctor Chu, I've heard so much about you!"
Tang Rongfa burst into laughter as soon as he arrived, avoiding any mention of his official status and displaying great enthusiasm.
"My name is Tang Rongfa. I came from the southeast by sea back then. Doctor Chu, a member of the Ghost Gate Shamanic Physician Lineage in the last century. He was also quite famous in the medical circles of the southeast, but unfortunately, we never had the chance to meet."
"Unexpectedly, with the passage of time and the South Sea, I will one day meet again with the descendants of famous figures from my hometown."
Chu Tianshu knew that ninety percent of what he said was false, but he felt somewhat pleased to hear him praising his grandfather in his words.
"Mr. Tang, you flatter me."
"I dare not be called 'sir'. Since ancient times, those who have achieved success have been given precedence. I have lived for many years in vain, yet I dare not compare myself to a divine physician."
1
Tang Rongfa cupped his hands in humility and said, "If the divine physician doesn't mind, please call me Old Tang."
"These are all my friends and disciples, who have come specifically to pay their respects."
The crowd, who had been whispering among themselves, all bowed respectfully upon hearing this, their expressions solemn and orderly.
Chu Tianshu had already heard them whispering, surprised by the youth of his distinguished guest.
Many of these people appeared to be of mixed race, but they spoke fluent Mandarin, even whispering in Mandarin, though they inevitably had a slight southern accent.
Chinese people make up 10 percent of San Francisco's population, but among them, not many can still speak fluent Mandarin.
In the first four decades of the last century, Chinatown was subjected to blatant suppression. The land and buildings that people had worked so hard to build were almost taken back, and businesses were also marginalized.
At that time, the only way for Chinese people to get ahead was to emphasize education and cultivate a large number of children who were familiar with local laws and customs, so that they could serve as advisors to the gang culture that was prevalent at the time.
Later, as these gangs laundered their money, many Chinese people became wealthy as a result, tasted the benefits, and developed a path dependency.
Since they have devoted all their energy to studying the major and minor affairs, laws and regulations of North America, they don't have much time to learn about their homeland's culture.
Tang Rongfa was able to teach his men to speak the local dialect here; regardless of whether his intentions were pure or not, he was at least a person with good intentions.
"Then I'll call him Old Tang."
Chu Tianshu laughed and said, "Let's not beat around the bush. If you've just heard the news and come to see guests from your hometown, there's no need for such a grand fuss, is there?"
"A truly insightful and miraculous doctor."
Tang Rongfa, "This is my good friend Anthony, who is quite well-known locally."
"As the saying goes, the world belongs to all people. I am East Asia Asian, and he is West Asia Asian."
Anthony naturally replied, "Our fathers and grandfathers were not from this place, but since we work and live on this land, it is naturally our home, and the safety of this place is also on our minds."
"Recently, the situation has been turbulent, with frequent murders and inhuman monsters running rampant in San Francisco, turning the San Francisco into a chaotic mess. If this continues, everyone will inevitably live in fear."
"Therefore, we have long intended to invite all the elders and wise people of the city to sit down and talk, so that we can share our knowledge and resources, and thus help to combat the disaster and protect the region."
These words sounded quite grand and righteous.
Upon hearing this, Alexis couldn't help but ask a question.
"Our Audit Bureau invited everyone to discuss the safety issues in San Francisco long ago. Why did no one want to participate then? Why did you two also consistently refuse?"
Tang Rongfa his hands on his cane, looking quite relaxed, and chuckled, "Well—"
"Old Tang is still too polite. Let me be frank."
Anthony stared intently at Jon and the others, his gaze sharp, "Don't ask others first when something happens; reflect on yourselves first!"
"Thinking about all the terrible things the Audit Bureau and the military have done over the years, there are just too many."
"If you were to be the hosts and we all gathered together, wouldn't that give some of you the opportunity to communicate with demons, secretly plot against us, and wipe us all out in one fell swoop?"
Anthony exuded righteousness.
"Mr. Chu is different. His actions in other countries have always taken into account the overall interests of humanity, and his reputation remains impeccable to this day."
"His abilities are enough to add another layer of security to this gathering, which is why we specifically invited him to be a witness."
Flawless!
Alexis was furious, and his face flushed slightly.
He was usually the one who told others to reflect, but today this lawyer shut him down, and he didn't know how to refute him for a moment.
The main reason was that Chu Tianshu was still standing next to him; in a different setting, he would have had many things to say.
At this moment, Chu Tianshu suddenly brought up another matter.
"Old Tang, your walking sticks and canes seem different, but your auras are somewhat similar."
"If I'm not mistaken, there are flags hidden inside both of these canes, aren't there?"
Chu Tianshu's smile was meaningful.
"Moreover, it seems that quite a few Spirit Body are being raised inside the flag."
