Maxing Out Chazz Princeton's Hatred / How Long Would She Whimper After One Punch?
"Maybe it was because I beat the blond mushroom-head professor in the first turn of the duel test, with all my life points intact. I probably had the best practical score."
Jiang He gave the reason some thought before answering.
In other people's eyes, he might have won because he was lucky enough to open with a perfect hand and beat Professor Crowler with a godly draw.
Still, it was a fact that he had won on the first turn with all his life points intact.
Naturally, that meant he had the best practical test score.
"I wish I had luck that good!" Sure enough, Syrus Truesdale was soon crying with envy.
Looking at the two streams of tears that wound down from beneath his little glasses like noodles,
Jiang He really wanted to ask him:
How on earth did he make his tears flow like that?!
He could make them look just like tears in an anime!
Jiang He could only marvel inwardly that this dueling world really did recreate the anime perfectly!
But he soon had an idea.
"Syrus, want to duel me? If you win, I can consider swapping dorms with you," Jiang He coaxed Syrus.
Clearly, he intended to bring Syrus a "smile."
He would farm a round of emotion points from this little tool!
"Really?!" Syrus's eyes lit up.
But hesitation soon returned to his face. He glanced at Jaden Yuki and answered, "Actually, never mind. I still want to live with my big bro."
"..." Jiang He wore a strange expression.
He had never expected that kind of concern from Syrus, brimming with brotherly passion!
All he could say was that it really was the world jokingly called Yu-Gay-Oh! in his previous life.
Women would only slow down his card draws!
"Syrus, you really are... hahaha!" Jaden scratched his cheek and laughed awkwardly.
"Then forget it for now. I'm going outside to look around at the facilities. What about you two?" Jiang He didn't want to watch this sweat-drop scene any longer, so he shuddered and changed the subject.
"Then let's go together!" Jaden replied, immediately interested.
He had originally wanted to duel Jiang He.
But now that he had heard about touring the school facilities, his interest and attention had temporarily shifted to that instead!
Maybe he could run into some of Obelisk Blue's formidable dueling elites at the academy and have a duel!
Chapter 9: Maxing Out Chazz Princeton's Hatred
Jiang He's reason for wanting to tour Duel Academy's facilities was simple.
Aside from being genuinely interested in the surroundings,
he also had the same idea as Jaden: finding someone to duel.
He could farm some emotion points.
While he was at it, he could test some potential aspects of his system.
For example, after making an unknown duelist miserable and doing the same to someone from the original story, would the emotion points he received differ?
"There seems to be a pretty amazing duel arena over there! I smell a duel! Someone's dueling!"
The three of them had barely walked any distance around the academy without a destination when Jaden suddenly twitched his nose and pointed excitedly ahead.
Then he could no longer contain himself and ran over first!
"The smell of a duel...?" The corner of Jiang He's mouth twitched.
All he could say was that the chosen one of this world could even smell duels.
Still, he could roughly guess what Jaden meant by the smell of a duel.
This hot-blooded idiot had probably sensed the presence of Duel Monsters spirits nearby, hadn't he?
Although not everyone's deck could awaken a Duel Monsters spirit,
even cards without awakened spirits would give off some fluctuations in their presence during a duel.
That made Jiang He even more interested in the ability to see spirits!
He decided
to farm enough emotion points as soon as possible and redeem the ability from the system first!
First, he would go see which unlucky soul in the arena over there had crossed his path...!
"Does something like the smell of a duel really exist...?" Nearby, Syrus was still muttering in confusion.
Then he saw that Jiang He had also started walking toward Duel Academy's arena ahead.
He hurried after them, calling out, "Hey, wait for me!"
Inside Duel Academy's arena.
When Jiang He walked in, he soon saw a raised platform ahead for dueling.
There was plenty of high-tech equipment beside it.
The surrounding spectator area held rows of seats at different heights.
Two students dressed in blue, who seemed to have just finished a duel, were talking about something with Jaden, who had entered ahead of them.
But judging by their arrogant and disdainful expressions,
the atmosphere was clearly less than friendly!
"Hey, hey, why are there two more Slifer Red slackers here? Don't you know this duel arena is only for Obelisk Blue students to practice in?!"
The two blue-clad students scowled when they saw Jiang He and Syrus following behind him, and shouted at them.
"Quiet." Before Jiang He could speak, a voice rang out from the spectator area not far from the two students.
Then a figure with black, spiky hair emerged from the direction of the voice. Judging by his hairstyle, he was clearly the type who played cards too.
He wore a blue coat just like the other two.
Clearly, he was also an Obelisk Blue student.
"Isn't that Chazz Princeton, that comedy act and goofball?" Jiang He immediately recognized him and wore a strange expression.
At this point in time, though, the guy's goofball comedian side hadn't shown itself yet.
He was still in his dark-hearted phase, hated by everyone and everything.
"Big bro, who's that guy...?" Syrus asked Jaden quietly and curiously.
Jaden immediately looked embarrassed. Clearly, he didn't know either.
Both of them turned to Jiang He with questioning looks.
"You don't even know Chazz Princeton?!" exclaimed the two background students nearby, who were obviously his underlings.
The other one proudly explained to Jaden and Syrus, "He's the number one student in our year at Duel Academy!"
"He's the great Chazz Princeton, known as the heir to the academy's top student, Kaiser Zane Truesdale!"
Chazz wore a smug expression as he enjoyed his underlings' flattery.
Clearly, he was quite pleased with their bootlicking.
"So, after all that, want an exciting, thrilling rebirth flight... duel?" A lazy voice suddenly cut in at a very inopportune moment.
Chazz and the others then saw Jiang He standing there with his hands spread, looking relaxed after speaking.
"It's that lucky bastard of a slacker! The guy named Jiang He!" Chazz clenched his fists, furious.
Whether it was Jiang He's indifferent attitude toward him or the fact that he had challenged his authority right when he was enjoying the praise,
both made Chazz seethe!
"Well, look who it is. Examinee number 111, Jiang He, who beat Professor Crowler entirely through dumb luck! You're quite the celebrity throughout Duel Academy now!"
Chazz sneered.
Jiang He was indeed quite famous throughout Duel Academy now.
He was known as the god-draw dog who had opened with all five pieces of Exodia the Forbidden One and beaten Professor Crowler without lifting a finger.
In only the half day that had passed so far, word had already spread throughout Duel Academy.
His reputation wasn't a good one, though. It was merely an odd story people enjoyed talking about.
Some people even looked down on him for now because he had "relied entirely on the luck of a godly draw."
Jiang He didn't care at all, however.
That actually made it easier for him to "ambush" people and find plenty of targets willing to duel him!
"There's no need for all that. Whether it was luck or not, won't we find out after a duel?" Jiang He glanced at Chazz with a bored expression.
He instantly drew a wave of hatred from Chazz!
As he saw it, maxing out an opponent's hatred before a duel was also a good way to farm emotion points!
Chapter 10: How Long Would She Whimper After One Punch?
"This guy!" Chazz flew into a rage!
Ignored by Jiang He again, all he wanted now was to immediately defeat this bastard who had only beaten Professor Crowler through dumb luck.
Then Jiang He would wear the expression of a loser, unable to accept his defeat and full of regret!
He would meet the same end as all the others Chazz had defeated in duels before!
"In the name of the Princeton family, I accept your duel challenge!" Chazz said angrily.
"What are you all doing here?!"
Jiang He smiled faintly at that, ready to bring Chazz a "smile,"
when a pleasant female voice suddenly rang out nearby!
A blond woman in a blue-and-white outfit and a short blue leather skirt was standing there with her arms folded, frowning. No one knew when she had arrived!
Not only was the blond woman tall, she also carried herself with an icy aloofness!
She had quite the mature older-sister air!
"Whoa, she's so pretty," Syrus marveled quietly, his eyes lighting up.
Jiang He recognized her at once.
It was none other than Alexis Rhodes, the senior Obelisk Blue student who had appeared alongside Kaiser Zane Truesdale and the others during the duel test!
Jaden, on the other hand, looked completely bewildered and had no idea who she was.
"Oh, it's you, Alexis. This new student who beat Professor Crowler through luck was just a little too arrogant. I was only planning to show him the cruel reality of the dueling world."
