Personality

Alexis appears cold and proud, but is considerate toward others. Early in her acquaintance with Jiang He, she warns him against Chazz’s card-wagering duels because previous victims had lost confidence and withdrawn from school. Jiang He recognizes the contrast between her aloof manner and her willingness to help 6 21.

She is competitive without refusing responsibility for her mistakes. After misreading Jiang He’s deck, she acknowledges her faulty judgment, accepts defeat, stops Jasmine from protesting, and honors the duel’s agreement to keep Syrus’s presence in the girls’ dormitory secret 18 21.

Her concern for Atticus and Jiang He can make her unusually forceful. After Atticus’s rescue, she insists that Jiang He rest in the infirmary, surprising even people familiar with her personality. Later, she refuses to let others fight Sora in her place despite the possibility of being sealed in a card 70 1060.

In romance, Alexis initially denies her feelings but becomes increasingly direct and territorial. Rei’s provocations push her to take the initiative, while Akiza’s arrival intensifies her determination to protect her relationship. History

Early Academy Life

Already recognized as Obelisk Blue’s leading female duelist, Alexis approaches Jiang He as a senior concerned about his confrontation with Chazz. Watching his Exodia strategy, she quickly identifies its reliance on draw spells and its small monster lineup 5 6 10.

Her attempt to test that understanding fails when Jiang He uses a different deck. Although frustrated by his Lava Golem strategy, she accepts the loss and begins treating him as a respected opponent. She subsequently partners with him against the Paradox Brothers, modifying her deck to support their shared tactics 18 19 21 44 47.

Atticus and the Shadow Riders

Atticus’s disappearance is a major concern for Alexis. Jiang He’s assurance that her brother is alive gives her a reason to investigate Shadow Duels, and she visits Slifer Red hoping to encounter the Shadow Riders 43 64 65.

After Jiang He defeats a masked Shadow Rider, Alexis recognizes the unconscious duelist as Atticus. She helps arrange his treatment, remains beside his hospital bed, and kisses Jiang He’s cheek while he sleeps as thanks for saving him 69 70 71.

Atticus awakens with memory loss severe enough that he cannot recall Alexis’s name. She agrees to Jiang He’s proposal to stimulate his memories through a duel. This restores much of what Atticus experienced under Darkness, but not his earlier memories. Later, Amnael defeats Alexis after Atticus volunteers to bear the consequences of her loss, leaving her distressed and self-reproachful 101 102 111.

Relationship with Jiang He

When the Shadow Riders threat ends, Alexis considers returning to her dormitory but decides to remain at Jiang He’s cabin. Atticus’s advice to pursue what she wants—and the possibility of romantic rivals—encourages her decision 122.

Rei’s challenge makes her feelings increasingly public. After defeating Rei, Alexis declares that Jiang He is hers; subsequent narration explicitly calls him her boyfriend. She becomes comfortable enough to adjust his pajamas and privately considers starting a family with him before graduation, though she does not voice that proposal 134 169 184 348.

Darkness and the Dark Signers

Alexis remains concerned that the power sealed in Atticus’s mask could expose him to Darkness again. Jiang He reassures her but explains Darkness’s ability to erase defeated people from both the world and others’ memories. The warning leaves her deeply alarmed 308 309.

Her earlier investigation into Atticus’s disappearance also helps her recognize Yusuke Fujiwara and understand his connection to the abandoned special students’ dormitory. During the later Dark Signer incidents, she notices missing students and joins the search leading to the old beast arena 310 440.

Witnessing another defeated Shadow Duelist begin to disappear makes her reconsider the risks faced by herself and Jiang He, prompting new thoughts about her rivalry with Akiza. She also warns that Goodwin may target Akiza for the remaining Crimson Dragon Mark 449 493.

Later Tournaments and Dimensional Threats

Alexis learns Turbo Dueling and competes against Sherry on her Machine Angel D-Wheel. During the WDC preliminaries, she and Akiza enter primarily to help Jiang He, giving him their ruby fragments rather than pursuing independent qualification 572 574 703.

As threats escalate, she receives access to materialized protection through Cyber Angel Vrash. She later volunteers to face Sora herself, recognizing that Leo Akaba’s agents may be targeting Jiang He, Celina, and Yuzu.
