"Chazz, the formula for victory has been decided." Jiang He barely glanced at the card he had drawn before casually dropping the reference.

"What did you say?!" Chazz frowned.

Then Jiang He took a Spell Card from his hand and revealed it!

"I activate the Spell Card [Double Summon] from my hand."

As he spoke, the image of the green Spell Card appeared face-up on the field before him.

"Thanks to the effect of [Double Summon], I can perform one additional Normal Summon this turn!"

Smiling faintly, Jiang He quickly slapped two identical level-four monster cards sideways onto his Duel Disk, one after the other!

"The two monsters I summon in Defense Position are [Royal Magical Library]!"

[Royal Magical Library] [Level: 4] [Attribute: Light] [ATK: 0] [DEF: 2000]

A burst of orange-yellow light appeared, and two monsters resembling brown libraries materialized on Jiang He's field, one after the other, in Defense Position!

They stood atop the huge, sideways card projections!

Chapter 12: The Underworld Begins, I'm About to Start "Storytelling"!

"Pfft, hahaha! A Slifer Red dropout really is a dropout. You have a rare card like [Royal Magical Library], but you don't have the slightest idea how to use it properly!"

Seeing the two [Royal Magical Library] monsters Jiang He had summoned in succession, Chazz folded his arms and mocked him.

"Big bro... why did Chazz suddenly say that?" Syrus asked Jaden in confusion from beside the dueling platform below.

He couldn't see anything wrong with Jiang He's play just now!

Jiang He had used the effect of the Spell Card [Double Summon] to summon again, bringing out two monsters with 2,000 defense for protection.

Then he could slowly build up his hand and gather all five pieces of the sealed Exodia the Forbidden One.

As far as Syrus could tell, wasn't that how it was supposed to be used?

"Because Royal Magical Library's monster effect places one [Spell Counter] on the card every time either player activates a Spell Card.

Then, by removing three Spell Counters, Jiang He can draw one card from his deck."

Just then, Alexis's voice sounded from nearby, offering an explanation.

At some point, she had come over to the foot of the dueling platform.

Now she stood with her arms folded, watching the duel up close with an aloof expression.

"Oh, Alexis!" Syrus exclaimed in pleasant surprise.

Then he quickly caught on. "So, every time three Spell Cards are used, Jiang He can use Royal Magical Library's monster effect to draw one card from his deck?"

Jaden also looked at Alexis, waiting for her answer.

"That's right."

Alexis nodded and continued watching the field as she spoke.

"So, if number 111 here, Jiang He, had summoned the first Royal Magical Library before using Double Summon, the first monster he summoned would have gained an extra Spell Counter."

"The way he played it was a little crude."

Hearing Alexis from below the nearby dueling platform, Chazz gave a derisive laugh. "That's why a Slifer Red dropout is still a dropout. Your turn should be about over, right?"

After learning that Jiang He used an Exodia the Forbidden One deck, he had deliberately followed the King of Games Yugi Muto's example and brought along several Trap Cards to counter the sealed Exodia the Forbidden One!

All he had to do was wait for his turn, set them on the field, and activate them at the right moment!

Then he could immediately and completely put an end to Jiang He's "dream" of gathering all five pieces of Exodia the Forbidden One in his hand!

In other words, the next turn would be the moment of his victory!

"No, not even close!"

Jiang He merely smiled calmly in response.

"That [Double Summon] play just now was only a casual way of returning your concession in letting me go first, so you won't make excuses later."

"It also makes it easier for me to keep track of how many counters are on both Royal Magical Libraries and draw cards with them together!"

"Next, I'm about to start 'storytelling,' so make sure you don't blink!"

"Nani?!"

Before Chazz could figure out what "storytelling" meant,

Jiang He raised his hand, took one of his three remaining cards, and placed it directly on his Duel Disk!

"I activate the Spell Card [Upstart Goblin]. I draw one card from my deck, and in exchange, my opponent gains 1,000 LP."

At Jiang He's words, the projection of a Spell Card featuring a green goblin appeared on the dueling field before him.

"What?! You're giving your opponent 1,000 life points?!"

Seeing the Spell Card Jiang He had used, Chazz across from him, as well as Alexis, Jaden, and the others below the platform, all looked stunned and incredulous.

He was giving his opponent 1,000 life points just to draw one card!

Was that really worth it?!

Even Jaden, a hot-blooded idiot with a protagonist's halo, couldn't immediately understand Jiang He's move.

"Why would Jiang He give his opponent 1,000 life points?" Syrus asked in confusion.

Jiang He, however, had no intention of explaining.

As he drew a card from his deck, everyone saw Chazz's life points beep upward to [5,000 LP].

"Go on, Chazz, enjoy the 1,000 LP I gave you for free!"

"Then, because a Spell Card was activated, each of my two [Royal Magical Library] monsters gets one Spell Counter!"

As Jiang He finished speaking,

a green gem representing stored magic lit up on each of the two brown library monsters standing atop the sideways card projections before him!

"Once again, I activate the Spell Card [Upstart Goblin] from my hand!" Jiang He reached for his hand, which was back up to three cards after drawing one and playing one.

He took out a Spell Card identical to the first!

"I draw another card from my deck, and you, Chazz, gain another 1,000 LP."

Jiang He drew another card from his deck, bringing his hand back to three cards.

Meanwhile, Chazz's life points beeped upward by another 1,000, reaching [6,000 LP].

"What is Jiang He doing? Why does he keep giving Chazz more life points? Isn't that making it harder for himself to win?"

Syrus spoke with some concern at the sight.

"No, that may be exactly the strategy he's using!" Alexis objected in surprise, as though she had noticed something.

Chapter 13: My Chance of Victory Is One Thousand Percent!

"That's right, Syrus. Look at those two [Royal Magical Library] monsters on Jiang He's field," Jaden reminded Syrus, watching the field as though something had suddenly occurred to him too.

Hearing that,

Syrus and Chazz's two lackeys all looked at the brown library monsters standing on the two cards on Jiang He's field.

At some point, another green gem storing magic had lit up on each one!

They already had two Spell Counters!

They immediately remembered the effect of [Royal Magical Library] that Alexis Rhodes had described.

If it had three Spell Counters, their number could be reduced to zero to draw one card from the deck!

Thus, although it looked as though Jiang He had used two [Upstart Goblin] Spell Cards merely to trade them one-for-one for cards from his deck,

and apart from giving his opponent 2,000 life points, his own hand was still at three cards, completely unchanged,

as though he had accomplished nothing,

in reality, each of his two [Royal Magical Library] monsters had gained two Spell Counters!

At that moment, Syrus and Chazz's two lackeys remembered how a sealed Exodia the Forbidden One deck won.

The only way for a deck with The Sealed Exodia the Forbidden One to win

was to gather all five sealed pieces in its hand!

Not to deplete the opponent's life points and defeat them!

All he needed to do was keep drawing cards until he fulfilled that victory condition.

As for how many life points his opponent had, he didn't need to care at all!

Because even [infinite] life points were completely useless against a fully assembled, sealed Exodia the Forbidden One!

They would all be wiped out instantly!

Across from him, Chazz was also looking grimly at the two green gem Spell Counters on each of the two [Royal Magical Library] monsters on Jiang He's field!

Clearly, he had realized it too!

"Finally figured it out? But it's already a little too late," Jiang He said with a faint smile.

His Exodia the Forbidden One deck, obtained from the system's newbie gift pack, was an underworld cancer deck built to win in one turn.

Naturally, it was an utterly extreme build.

All he had to do was draw through his deck in one go and OTK his opponent!

"So what if you can draw a few extra cards? As long as your Spell Cards are interrupted even once and you draw defensive monster cards and Trap Cards, the scales of victory will still tip in my favor!"

Chazz gritted his teeth as he spoke!

He was encouraging himself!

[Ding! Chazz's emotion points +200!]

Pleased to hear the system notification, Jiang He continued teasing Chazz.

That was because, aside from the five [sealed] Exodia the Forbidden One pieces and the two [Royal Magical Library] cards, among a handful of monster cards in his forty-card deck,

the remaining thirty-odd cards were all Spell Cards!

If Chazz had gone first, deliberately included Trap Cards and monster cards to counter him, drawn them on his first turn, and then set them on the field or summoned them,

he might have been able to do something against him.

But now he had let Jiang He go first.

And Jiang He had even drawn a [Royal Magical Library] in his opening hand.
