The Thirty-Six Stratagems of Love
Lupa tilted her head to look at Kexi, her expression surprisingly showing a hint of confusion.
"I didn't say I wouldn't talk to you properly," Lupa said.
Kexi almost spat out a mouthful of blood. "Then why did you chase after me?"
"Then why are you running? If you hadn't run, I wouldn't have chased you, would I?" Lupa retorted confidently.
Kexi opened her mouth, then realized that what she said made a lot of sense.
He leaned against the wall, trying to catch his breath, and his mind began to function again.
Now that things have come to this, there's no escaping him, and no amount of coaxing will change his mind, so he can only be a scumbag.
He's now like Cao Cao at the Battle of Red Cliffs; all his ships are on fire, and putting them out is impossible. The only thing he can do is fly away in a Gundam.
The system progress is still a few steps behind, but Lupa is readily available and must be acquired.
Please, Master, continue to possess me.
He straightened up, adjusted his crooked collar, and swept his hair back.
Then he looked up and his gaze towards Lupa changed.
Just a moment ago he was a stray dog being chased all over the streets, but now he's transformed into a deeply affectionate male lead in an idol drama.
"Lupa," his voice lowered, "Do you know why I ran away?"
Lupa paused, then asked, "Why?"
Because I'm afraid.
Kexi took a step forward, looking directly at her.
"I'm afraid that if I stop and see your face, I won't be able to run anymore."
Lupa's pupils flickered slightly.
Her ear tips twitched involuntarily.
What nonsense are you talking about?
When you were pursuing me, you were practically glowing.
Kexi continued,
"Like a flame. I've seen many flames, but none have burned into my heart. You are the first."
Lupa's eyes darted left and right, as if she didn't know how to handle such a direct approach.
"I heard it all at the manor gate just now. You said you were a wolf-type girlfriend, that you could give me a sense of security." Kexi took another step forward, the distance between them was less than two meters. "Do you know what I was thinking at that moment?"
Lupa didn't speak, she just stared at him with her amber eyes.
"I think, to be protected by you, I must have saved the world in my past life."
"Actually, I've watched every single one of your fights carefully."
Kexi can now lie without batting an eye.
Practice makes perfect.
"On the field, you're like the dazzling sun, radiant and captivating! I can't tear myself away!"
"I'm afraid that if I stop, I won't be able to control my trembling heart and hands, and I won't be able to control myself from falling deeply in love with you."
Do you know why I sent you this letter?
"Because it was a humble expression of love that I had tried so hard to suppress."
You are like the bright moon, and I am just a firefly. How could I be worthy to stand beside you?
"If I were to walk with you on the streets of Ragunna, people would definitely curse at us."
"That woman is either blind, or that man is rich."
"Although my family is indeed wealthy."
"But how can I bear to let these vulgar things tarnish our noble love?"
Lupa's lips twitched, as if she wanted to laugh but held it back.
"Okay. Then tell me, what's the deal with me, Juno, Augusta? Why do those two also have your love letters?"
emmmmmm
This is a life-or-death question, and the following options are presented to her.
1. Confess and you'll be treated leniently; resist and you'll be punished severely. Tell Lupa the truth, and then she'll beat you to death.
Second: Fight her head-on, defeat her, and leave gracefully.
Third: Find a barely acceptable excuse to brush her off.
Fourth: Kiss her directly and forcefully, let her feel your passionate and sincere love, and leave her unable to think straight.
If you chose number four, then you'll have to wait for number four.
It's obvious that Kexi is going to choose the ancestral master's fighting style.
First, let's talk about one of the Thirty-Six Stratagems of Love: Stealing the Beams and Replacing the Pillars, Fishing in Troubled Waters.
They used a fallacy of distorting the facts, disrupting the situation, and creating a favorable environment for themselves.
"You asked me to choose between you, Augusta, and Juno. Okay, I'll tell you now."
He walked up to Lupa, stopped, and looked down into her eyes.
Lupa had to tilt her head slightly to meet his gaze, an angle that made her frown, but she didn't back away.
"You and I are true love; they were just an accident," Kexi said, her tone resolute.
Lupa raised an eyebrow.
The words I wrote to you in those letters carry no weight what I'm saying to you now as I stand before you.
Kexi raised her hand and gently tucked a stray strand of hair that had been ruffled by the wind behind her ear. The gentle movement made Lupa freeze for a moment.
I like you, and I want to be with you, walking together from the past into tomorrow.
Lupa finally couldn't hold back, and a suspicious blush rose on her face.
She looked away, her voice much softer. "Don't give me that. You probably told them the same thing. You're just trying to fool me, to make me lower my guard so you can run away."
"Do I need to?" Kexi retorted. "If I just wanted to get away, couldn't I just say whatever came to mind? Why do I have to tell you all this?"
Lupa fell silent. Her gaze swept across Kexi's face several times, as if trying to discern the truth in his words.
"Then tell me, between me and Juno, who's prettier?"
"You." Kexi answered without hesitation.
What about Augusta?
"Her legs aren't as long as yours."
Lupa's eyes lit up. "Juno's legs are obviously long too."
"Her legs are long, but yours have a more powerful presence," Kexi said seriously. "A 'wolf-type' girlfriend is all about being both tough and good-looking. Someone like you would be a hot commodity in the market."
Lupa was so flattered by the praise that she couldn't suppress her smile, so she pursed her lips and forced back her triumphant grin.
She took a half step back, crossed her arms, and looked at Kexi with her chin. "Hmph, you do have some taste."
Kexi mentally gave a thumbs-up.
This girl is much easier to please Juno.
Just as he was about to continue speaking, Lupa spoke up again.
"What if I asked you to cut ties with them? Could you do that?"
Kexi's smile froze for a moment, but she quickly recovered. "I can do it. It's your decision."
"Real?"
"Really." Kexi took her hand and pressed it to her chest, her gaze deep and unwavering. "If you don't believe me, feel my heartbeat. It beats for you."
Lupa placed her hand on his chest, feeling his heart pounding inside, and her face turned even redder.
She tried to pull her hand away, but couldn't, so she let him hold it down.
"Then you are not allowed to write letters to other women anymore."
"I'm not writing anymore. From now on, I'll only write for you."
"What are you only going to write for me?"
Write love letters. Write poems. Write 3,000-word essays praising your long legs.
Lupa finally couldn't help but laugh out loud.
That smile was wild and bright, like a wolf baring its teeth in the moonlight after catching its prey.
She grabbed Kexi's hand in return, staring intently at him. "If you dare to lie to me, I'll bite you to pieces and chew you up."
Kexi felt a chill run down her spine, but her smile remained unchanged, "No way. My greatest virtue is honesty."
Lupa snorted, let go of his hand, turned and took two steps toward the alley entrance, then stopped and looked back at him, her ears still red.
"I'm hungry," she said. "You'll have to buy me a meal."
Kexi felt like she'd been granted a pardon and quickly followed, saying, "Eat! You can eat whatever you want, I can even make you some noodles!"
The two walked out of the alley one after the other. Kexi followed behind Lupa, secretly wiping the sweat from her forehead.
His mind was already racing, trying to figure out an excuse to take Lupa's virginity—no, to take her Resonance Ability.
Just as he was about to walk out of the alley, a faint voice suddenly came from behind him.
Hey! You there.
Kexi paused in her steps.
A bad feeling enveloped him.
He turned his head stiffly.
Lynae stood at the other end of the alley.
Her eyes had regained focus, and a smile that sent chills down Kexi's spine was playing on her lips.
"How are you going to compensate me for my ice cream?"
