"It's just an ice cream, what's the big deal? I'll pay you ten times the price."

As Kexi spoke, she reached into her pocket with a flourish as if she were about to pull out a black gold card that could buy the entire street.

His fingers twirled in his pocket, then twirled again, before the smile on his face slowly froze.

My card is missing.

He quickly recalled in his mind that last night at the nursing home, he gave the card to the nurse and then slipped it to Selina.

Now, besides a terminal, he doesn't even have a penny on him.

"That..."

"Wait for me a moment."

After saying that, Kexi took out her terminal and started making a call right in front of them.

The call was connected very quickly.

Kexi spoke first, "Opal, Opal, I am the Tall Man, please respond."

There was a moment of silence on the other end.

"What Tall Man? I don't know him."

Beep beep...

Communication is down.

Kexi was not discouraged and fought back.

The call was answered instantly this time.

"It's me! Kexi, send the money!"

This time, there was no silence; instead, an explosion occurred.

"You have the nerve to ask me for money?! You spent hundreds of thousands of Monnaie's yesterday, what are you trying to do?!"

"Second sister, you can't just stand by and watch her die!"

"Hello... hello..."

"Damn it! You heartless bastard!"

Kexi was so angry that she kept cursing.

The two women beside him were just staring straight at him.

Kexi scratched the back of her head sheepishly, "Um... can I pay for it later?"

Lynae raised an eyebrow, her expression one of disdain, but before she could speak, Lupa spoke first.

"You don't have any money, are you planning to take me to eat and dash?" Lupa narrowed her eyes, her tone full of suspicion.

Kexi felt a chill run down her spine.

He took a deep breath, straightened his back, and struck the pose of the young master Montelli.

"Who says I can't afford it? I can pay with facial recognition."

Lynae and Lupa both fell silent.

A subtle awkwardness filled the air.

"Face recognition?" Lynae repeated, her tone carrying a hint of pity as if she were looking at someone mentally challenged. "Do you think this is your private property?"

"More or less," Kexi shrugged. "Seventy percent of the shops in Ragunna have shares in the Montelli. I am, after all, the young master of the Montelli Family; I have that much influence."

Little brat, Carlotta, do you really think he can't spend money if we don't give him any?

I'll just have someone mail the bill to her then, hmph.

Lynae's expression changed.

She had only intended to teach the clumsy guy who had knocked over her ice cream a lesson, but when she heard the words "young master of the Montelli Family," she visibly paused.

Her gaze swept carefully over Kexi's face twice, then looked at the nonchalant posture behind him, and finally settled on his face, which was filled with guilt and bravado.

"You're the young master of the Montelli Family?"

Her voice lowered, carrying a hint of confirmation.

"Is tomorrow's ceremony for you?"

Kexi nodded. "Yeah, it's my birthday tomorrow. Why, you want to come too?"

Lynae did not answer his question.

She lowered her head and took an envelope from her waist pouch.

The corners of the envelope were worn, indicating it had been turned over many times.

The moment Kexi saw the envelope, it felt like a bucket of ice water had been poured over her back.

He could recognize the sealing wax, the crease, the material even with his eyes closed.

"Was this letter written to me by you?"

Lynae held the letter up to Kexi, her tone calm, but her eyes already held a scrutinizing look.

"Huh? Um, who are you?"

"I am Lynae."

"Ah?"

Before Kexi could speak, she felt the temperature next to her suddenly rise.

He turned his head stiffly and saw Lupa looking at him with an extremely dangerous smile.

That smile reminded him of wolves stalking their prey on the grasslands, and also of the expression on Changli's face last night when he put Blazing Brilliance on his neck.

"You actually wrote to her?" Lupa asked with a smile, her voice so sweet it made Kexi's scalp tingle.

Kexi stood at the alley entrance. To his left was Lynae holding a letter, waiting for his reply. To his right was Lupa, whose smile concealed a whole volcano.

He looked up at the sky, then down at the ground, and finally fixed his gaze on the tips of his shoes.

Is this what a chaotic scene feels like?

Lynae paused for a moment, her gaze lingering on Lupa's face for two seconds before she looked down at the letter in her hand. Then she looked up again, her expression shifting from surprise to wariness.

"What? You have one too?"

Lupa sneered, took the letter out of her pocket, and waved it in front of Lynae.

Two envelopes, exactly the same.

The sealing wax is the same, the creases are the same, and even the wear on the edges is almost the same.

Lynae's eyes widened, a surge of anger at being betrayed welling up inside them.

"How many people have you written for?" Lynae turned sharply to Kexi, the chill in her voice making the temperature in the alley drop several degrees.

Kexi chuckled twice and took half a step back.

His heels were already against the wall, leaving him nowhere to retreat.

Lupa took a step forward, and Lynae also took a step forward, the two women flanking him on either side, making Kexi feel like he was standing on a barbecue grill.

"Speak," Lupa's smile had completely lost its warmth, "How many more are there?"

"About... this number." Kexi stretched out one hand, spreading her five fingers.

"Five?" Lynae frowned.

Kexi shook her head.

"Fifteen?!" Lupa's voice rose eight octaves, and flames around her suddenly leaped up.

Kexi shook her head again, then cautiously added, "Maybe... we'll have to go even higher."

silence.

A deathly silence.

The air in the alley seemed to freeze, and even the wind wisely avoided it.

Lynae's roller skates made a very faint scraping sound on the stone slabs as she adjusted her center of gravity.

Lupa's fists clenched so tightly they cracked, and a faint spark flickered between her knuckles.

Looking at these two female demons who could erupt at any moment, Kexi had only one thought in her mind.

run.

He suddenly crouched down and crawled under Lynae's arm.

The speed of his actions surprised even himself.

He took off running in the other direction, followed by Lupa's roar and the buzzing sound of Lynae's roller skates accelerating.

Kexi dared not look back, and just kept rushing forward for her life.

Aaaaaaah!

Who can break this deadlock?!

"Don't run! Stop right there!" Lupa's voice was getting closer and closer, and the heat was already reaching the back of his neck.

"Give me back my ice cream! And these letters, you have to explain yourself today!" Lynae's voice was even colder, accompanied by the sharp whistling of an ice pick piercing the air, as it grazed past his ear.

Kexi made a sharp turn and entered an even narrower alley.

The alley was piled with clutter. He dodged left and right, flipped over a pile of wooden crates, kicked over a bucket of dirty water of unknown origin, and stumbled three times on the slippery ground before regaining his balance.

The footsteps behind me didn't get any quieter; instead, they grew closer and closer.

Lupa had completely turned into a ball of fire. Lynae's roller skates were still able to accelerate to this extent in the narrow alley. Kexi felt that he was probably going to die here today.

Just when he was almost in despair, a familiar figure appeared at the end of the alley.

Kexi, as if seeing a savior, shouted with all her might, "The Sai! Save me!"

Selina turned her head and saw Kexi rushing towards her like a stray dog, with two women on either side of her, their eyes bloodshot with rage.

"Quick! Help me block this!" Kexi rushed in front of her, grabbed her arm, and pushed her forward.

Before Selina could react, she had been pushed to the middle of the alley.

Lupa and Lynae stopped at the same time, and three pairs of eyes met in the narrow space.

Taking advantage of the break, Kexi continued running without looking back.

From behind came Selina's calm yet despairing voice. "Young Master, what have you done now?!"

Kexi didn't dare look back; he ran even faster.
