Without saying a word, Kexi reached out and pinched her thigh hard.

Juno gasped in pain, the murderous intent in her eyes vanishing instantly, replaced by a sob in her cry.

"I was wrong! I was wrong! Brother, I was wrong!"

"Hmm." Kexi released her hand and looked at her leisurely.

"Juno, you have to be a good girl so your brother will like you, okay?"

"Who cares?" Juno retorted stubbornly, as if on cue.

Kexi raised her hand and slapped her on the butt.

The sound was crisp and clear.

Juno jumped, her face turning bright red, and she instantly changed her expression to one of fawning.

"My brother is the best, I love him the most."

Kexi nodded in satisfaction. "I'll let you off this time."

Juno sniffed, her voice suddenly softening, tinged with a tentative, cautious tone. "Brother said he likes me the most, is that true?"

"Of course." Kexi replied without hesitation.

"So, between me, Augusta, Lupa, who do you like the most?" Juno looked up at him, her eyes sparkling. "If you had to choose one to marry, who would you choose?"

Kexi's smile froze on her face.

Just then, a deep roar came from afar.

The sound carried a scorching, Resonance Energy made the dust on the ground jump up.

He turned his head and saw Lupa covered in a layer of crimson flames, charging towards him like a fiery wolf with its fur standing on end, moving so fast that it almost left a trail of afterimages.

I'll tell you next time!

Kexi called out to Juno, then turned and ran.

Lupa rushed to Juno, her body still ablaze, the heat distorting the surrounding air.

She looked at Juno, who was hanging in mid-air by vines, then at her bare foot and obviously swollen lips, and her expression changed from murderous to playful.

"Lady Yu," Lupa extinguished her flames, tilting her head to examine Juno, "Do you have any unusual fetishes?"

Juno's glare was sharp and deadly, but given her current appearance and swollen lips, it looked like she was just bluffing.

"What are you looking at?! Put me down right now!"

Lupa stroked her chin, circled Juno once, then patted her thigh, revealing a set of white teeth. "Um, Lady Yu, why don't you hang there a little longer? I have something to do."

As soon as she finished speaking, she pushed off with her foot, and the flames exploded again as she chased after Kexi in the direction she had fled.

Juno struggled frantically in mid-air, the vines rustling as she pulled them.

"Lupa! Come back! Put me down!"

No one paid her any attention. Only the wind at the street corner blew a few fallen leaves past her feet.

On the other side.

Selina and Augusta stood facing each other, panting and leaning against the wall.

"Hey, I said," Augusta took a breath, "That's enough, alright? I'm not chasing anymore, okay?"

Selina wiped the sweat from her brow; it was the first time she had ever encountered someone with such a strong grip.

"While you're blocking my way, Juno and Lupa might have already caught up with him."

Augusta was also surprised that this random person she encountered could actually fight her to a standstill.

Although she didn't use her full strength, she could tell that Selina was holding back.

After her reminder, Selina realized it too.

She stopped arguing with Augusta and turned to chase after Kexi in the direction he was fleeing.

Augusta watched her leave.

I hesitated for a moment before deciding whether to follow.

"Never mind, we'll see him at the ceremony tomorrow anyway. We'll get an explanation from him then."

Kexi ran wildly, turning two corners, and just as she was about to stop and catch her breath, a low wolf howl came from behind her.

He looked back and saw that Lupa had already caught up to the street corner, her body wreathed in flames, and her speed was as fast as if she had been given a cheat code.

Kexi cursed and ran away.

Not far ahead, Sigrika and Lynae had just squeezed out of the dessert window of Margaret's Restaurant, each holding an ice cream cone.

That was a limited-edition flavor they had queued for almost an hour to buy—the QQ Milk flavor of ice cream, so delicious it was almost explosive!

Lynae carefully licked it, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons with happiness.

Sigrika was still engrossed in studying the ingredients when she was suddenly bumped into.

Two ice creams flew out of my hand, tracing two graceful parabolas in the air before splattering onto the ground with two soft thuds.

Without turning her head, Kexi called out, "Sorry!"

Lynae stared at the pinkish, pasty mess on the ground, frozen in place as if struck by lightning.

She waited in line for an hour.

An hour! People lined up from one end of the street to the other, under the blazing sun, squeezed like paper by people all around them, just for this one bite.

Now it lies on the ground, mixed with dust.

"Stop right there!"

Lynae's anger surged to the top of her head, making the surrounding air seem to cool several degrees.

"Give me my ice cream!"

Her face darkened, and she turned and chased after him.

Kexi heard two more footsteps behind her, turned around, and almost fainted on the spot.

Now there's another person chasing him.

Those roller skates were faster than a car, and their eyes were practically blazing with fire.

"Damn it, is it really that serious! It's just an ice cream!" Kexi shouted back as she ran.

"That's ice cream I lined up for an hour!" Lynae's voice came from behind, cold as an ice pick, each word piercing.

Kexi knew she hadn't checked the almanac before going out today.

At this point, poison is the only option left.

With a thought, he activated the power he had resonated with from Cantarella.

A large number of translucent jellyfish suddenly appeared in the air, each one shimmering with a faint blue light, like wisps of smoke floating in the air, slowly drifting away behind them.

Lynae rushed the fastest and crashed headfirst into the swarm of jellyfish.

The translucent tentacles, as if alive, wrapped around her wrists and ankles, and a faint light spread along her skin.

Her steps slowed, the focus in her pupils began to waver, her expression changed from anger to confusion, and then from confusion to a dazed smile.

She stopped in her tracks, stretched out her hand and made a few grasping motions in the air, drool dripping from the corner of her mouth, muttering, "Hehe, what a big ice cream... so sweet... hehe..."

Lupa didn't slow down at all.

She leaped into the air, her entire body enveloped in crimson flames, transforming into a fire wolf. She soared high above the jellyfish swarm, and when she landed, the stone slabs beneath her feet cracked in several places.

The flames instantly vaporized the surrounding jellyfish into white smoke.

Kexi was stunned. "Holy crap, what kind of intensity is this? It's too supermodel-like!"

He turned and continued running, disappearing into a narrower alley.

The alley was piled with wooden crates and miscellaneous items, and the air was filled with a damp, musty smell.

Kexi turned left and right, running for about two hundred meters. Just when she thought she had shaken him off, she looked up and saw a fiery red figure already standing at the end of the alley.

Lupa stood there, the flames on her body not yet completely extinguished, her long hair swaying slightly in the heat.

She grinned at Kexi, revealing two sharp canine teeth, her smile both smug and dangerous.

"Run! Why did you stop running?"

Kexi stopped and turned to look back at the way she had come.

The jellyfish swarm has been almost completely burned, Lynae is probably still standing at the street corner grinning foolishly.

They won't catch up anytime soon.

Lupa was the only one left in front of her.

Kexi took a deep breath, straightened her back, and adjusted her crooked collar.

Since there's no escaping it, the only option is to face it head-on.

"Lupa," he called her name, trying to keep his voice steady and ignore his heart pounding in his throat, "Can we sit down and talk this over?"
