Heavenly Abode's Courtyard Light
"By the way, do you have Resonance Suppressor?"
Selina nodded. "Yes, young master, what do you need it for?"
Kexi gestured towards Phrolova with her lips. "Put it on her."
"Who is she? Why are you putting it on her?"
"She just tried to assassinate me."
"What!" Selina's voice rose instantly, and the temperature in her eyes plummeted to freezing.
She drew her weapon in a flash. "Young master, no need to say anything more, just shoot this kind of person."
"Hey, wait a minute." Kexi raised her hand and pressed down on her arm.
"Young master, do you want to keep her?" Selina's tone was full of disapproval.
"Such a beauty, killing her like this would be a terrible waste." Kexi looked Phrolova up and down, her expression as if she were assessing the collectible value of a work of art.
Selina's lips moved, as if she wanted to refute something, but in the end she suppressed her anger. "What does the young master want?"
"I, Kexi, have never liked extravagance and waste. I always make sure to eat every single grain of rice in my bowl."
Kexi patted Selina on the shoulder, his smile utterly meaningful. "Cuff her and take her back to be a maid."
"Young Master! She's a Resonator, and she wants to kill you!" Selina cried out anxiously.
"Don't worry, she can't pull anything off against me." Kexi's tone was casual, but every word carried absolute confidence. "Now, let's take down that horned demon first."
Selina looked at him for two seconds, then finally gave in.
She took out the Resonance Suppressor and deftly put it around Phrolova's neck.
Phrolova let out a muffled groan, as if all her strength had been drained away, and slumped softly to the ground, only her eyes still fixed on Kexi, cold and fierce.
Selina straightened up, walked to Kexi's side, and stood beside him.
Kexi glanced at her sideways and suddenly asked, "By the way, how did you get in?"
"Young master, have you forgotten? I was praised by Montelli as an all-rounder." Selina raised her chin slightly, a hint of pride on her face.
"Oh, I really forgot." Kexi raised an eyebrow, her smile a little cheeky. "You're an all-rounder, you can't do everything, can you?"
"Of course," Selina answered quickly.
"What can that do?"
Selina's expression froze on the spot.
Her face flushed red at a visible speed, from her neck to the tips of her ears.
"Young Master!!!" She gritted her teeth, stamping her foot in a mixture of shame and anger.
"Hahaha, okay, I'm just teasing you." Kexi laughed so hard her whole body was shaking, and it took her a while to straighten up.
He turned to look in the direction of the Scar, his eyes sharpening again. "Go. Take him down."
The Scar finally couldn't take it anymore.
"Phrolova, you fucking played me!"
Phrolova felt wronged; his power had inexplicably disappeared.
What could she do? She was desperate too.
"Selina, get him!"
"It's young master."
Selina immediately pulled out her signature weapons, Orpheus's Cradle and Blade of the Eternal Slumbering Singer.
She placed the bow across the strings and pulled gently.
The music exploded in the alternate dimension. The air rippled like water after a pebble was thrown in. Where the ripples passed, more than a dozen phantoms of Selina appeared out of thin air, each holding a different instrument—a piccolo, a harp, a trumpet, a tambourine—like a fully armed phantom orchestra, sweeping towards the Scar.
Kexi's eyes widened in astonishment. "You're a summoning mage? That's amazing!"
Selina blushed and remained silent.
The Scar side was now completely on the defensive. He had just been overwhelmed by Hecate, and after finally managing to shatter that big guy, an entire Phantom Band was now shoving at his face. He slashed left and right, slashing one away only to have three more pounce on him, as if he had fallen into a never-ending dungeon.
"Damn it! Don't underestimate me!"
The Scar was completely enraged. Purple flames erupted from his body, his form began to twist and swell, his clothes tore apart, large demonic patterns appeared on his skin, and curved horns sprouted from his head, transforming him into a ram-horned demon covered in purple flames. His speed increased by nearly twice, and with a single slash, all the phantoms shattered as easily as cutting melons and vegetables.
Selina frowned and was about to step forward when Kexi raised her hand to stop her.
"Young Master?"
"Let me do it." Kexi took a step forward and stretched her wrists.
"But--" Selina tried to stop him, but Kexi had already moved out of her protective range.
"Let me try out my new power."
"Hey kid, aren't you underestimating me?!"
The Scar raised his head, his body wreathed in purple flames in his horned demon form, his blood-red eyes fixed on Kexi. He flicked the scorch marks off his knife and grinned, revealing a twisted smile.
"A good-for-nothing who relies on women to shield him from harm dares to stand before me." His voice was rough and grating, like sandpaper scraping against rust. "What, has your little secretary run out of mana? Or do you think I'd act like Phrolova?"
Kexi ignored him and simply rolled up her sleeves slowly.
"Do you know how many people I 'Fractsidus?" Scar took a step forward, dragging his long sword. "More than the scars on my face. A pampered young master like you probably hasn't even killed a chicken, has you?"
He took another step closer, the purple flames burning so intensely that the air itself seemed to explode.
"Kneel down and beg for mercy now, and I'll let you die a quick death. Otherwise, when I'm in a better mood, I'll smash your bones one by one, put them in a box, and send them back to your sister."
Selina, listening from behind, turned pale and almost started playing her violin again. Kexi raised his hand to stop her. He looked up at the Scar, and a slow smile crept onto his lips.
"Are you done talking?"
The Scar paused for a moment.
"Now that you've finished talking, it's my turn." Kexi stretched her neck, and her bones cracked twice.
He took a step forward, meeting the Scar man's violent eyes, his smile both roguish and wild. "And who said I rely on women? Don't you know that my specialty is living off women? Living off women, huh? That's a skill too."
His Scar expression twisted for a moment: "You fucking--"
"Getting impatient?" Kexi tilted his head. "Then go ahead and do it. Come on, let me see just how well-done this whole roasted lamb is."
You fucking want to die!
With a Scar, the floor beneath his feet shattered, and he charged towards Kexi, enveloped in raging purple flames.
Before the blade arrived, the flames came first, the temperature distorting and deforming the air, as if trying to vaporize Kexi on the spot.
Kexi didn't dodge.
His feet left the ground, and he rose silently into the air.
A colossal dragon-shaped phantom rose from behind him, its scales and claws fully revealed, its majesty causing the entire space to tremble.
"Heavenly Abode's Courtyard Light!"
With a loud shout, the dragon Kexi suddenly opened its massive maw, and a blindingly bright white light burst forth from deep within its throat.
The light was like a spear that burned through the heavens and earth, pouring down on the Scar with a destructive force.
His Scar pupils shrank to a point in the light. The purple flames engulfing his body were torn to shreds like paper in the face of the white light. His knife only held for half a second before flying out of his hand, and he was crushed to one knee by the terrifying pressure, a piece of his ram's horn being cut off.
"Damn it!" he cursed, using the last of his strength to tear open a golden portal beneath him, and scrambled inside.
A white light slammed into the ground, causing the entire space to jolt. When the light dissipated, all that remained on the ground was a charred crater and a few wisps of white smoke that hadn't yet dissipated.
Kexi slowly landed back on the ground, brushing off the invisible dust from his clothes. The dragon's shadow faded away behind him, as if it had never existed.
Selina stood behind, her mouth agape in an "o" shape.
