You're Insulting My Illness
Phrolova froze.
Her feet were still on the surface, her toes peeking out from her stockings, slightly curled up from the pressure.
She slowly turned her head and saw Luna holding a pot of steaming soup base, looking at her with an extremely complicated expression.
"Are you... giving noodles a foot massage?"
Luna put down the pot, crossed her arms, and tilted her head.
"Or did you learn some secret ramen-making technique that requires stomping your feet to make it chewy?"
Phrolova's face flushed red instantly.
She abruptly pulled her foot back; she wasn't wearing shoes, and unsure where to put her bare foot, she could only tuck it under her apron.
The clump of dough, trampled to a pulp, was still stuck to the ground, looking exactly like a lump of rice cake that had been crushed by someone's foot.
Luna stepped forward, looked down at the mess, then looked up at Phrolova, her expression changing from confusion to sudden understanding.
"I understand. Do you think that hand-pulled noodles are not up to your standards, and that you have to stomp on them to show sincerity?"
She nodded, her tone as serious as if she were discussing some proper cooking technique.
"Great, Phrolova, you're even more ruthless than me. I'll definitely pass on this unique skill to the young master later."
Phrolova's face was so red it looked like it could drip blood; it was hard to tell whether it was from anger or embarrassment.
She gritted her teeth, forcing each word out of her throat. "You dare."
"What wouldn't I dare to do?" Luna shrugged, her smile so sweet that Phrolova wanted to shove her head into the noodle pot.
Luna returned to the stove, quickly made another bowl of noodles, poured on the broth, arranged the toppings, and casually placed two pieces of green vegetables on the side of the bowl.
She placed the steaming bowl of ramen in front of Phrolova, then leaned close to her ear and whispered, "I'll let you off this time. Go and take this bowl of noodles to the young master. Remember, smile. The young master doesn't like seeing people with long faces."
Phrolova reached out and took the bowl. The bowl was scalding hot, so hot that her fingertips turned red.
Kexi had no idea how much that obsessive woman, Phrolova, had been "trained."
In order to escape reality smoothly tomorrow and to deceive Carlotta, he came to the healing center in the manor.
He barged in without even knocking.
He leaned against the doorframe with one hand and pressed the other to his chest. His face was flushed, and he had even wiped some water on his forehead to pretend he was sweating. He looked like he was about to die.
"Dr. Liv! I'm sick!"
Liv was sitting at her desk organizing prescriptions when the noise startled her so much that she almost dropped her pen.
She hurriedly got up and ran to meet him, her face full of anxiety. "Young Master Kexi, what's wrong?"
Kexi staggered two steps inside and collapsed onto the examination table. His head was tilted back, his chest heaving, and his voice trembled as he said, "Dr. Liv, I'm sick. Very sick. I feel like I'm going to die."
Liv was so frightened by his appearance that her face turned pale. She quickly stepped forward to touch his forehead. "Young Master, what illness do you have? Where do you feel unwell?"
Kexi, her eyes half-open and her voice barely audible, said, "I feel so hot. I have trouble breathing. My whole body is burning up. My limbs are weak. My mouth is dry, like it's about to burst into flames. My head is also spinning. Do you think I have some serious illness?"
After touching his forehead, Liv looked at his tongue and eyelids, then breathed a sigh of relief, her expression changing from fear to embarrassment.
She hesitated for a moment, then whispered, "Young master, you seem to have heatstroke."
Kexi sprang up from the examination table, her movements so swift that Liv was startled and took two steps back.
"What?!" he yelled at the top of his lungs towards the door, "Help! Help!"
Selina arrived at the door just in time and nearly tripped when she heard the wail.
She rushed into the therapy center and saw Kexi sitting on the examination bed, while Liv huddled in the corner. For a moment, the scene resembled the scene of a doctor-patient dispute.
"What's wrong with the young master?" Selina looked at Kexi, then at Liv, completely confused.
"The Sai, you've come at the perfect time." Kexi jumped out of bed, pointed into the room, and said, "Tear this place down!"
"Huh?" Selina was stunned.
Liv was stunned, then her face turned pale with fright. "Young Master, what's wrong? Please don't do anything rash! What did Liv do wrong?"
Kexi turned her head, staring at her. "You look down on me."
"Ah?! No way! Young master, how could Liv have the guts?!" Liv was almost crying; her voice was trembling.
"Hmph, no?" Kexi took a step closer. "What did you just say was my illness?"
"Heatstroke," Liv's voice was so soft it was almost inaudible.
"Listen to it."
Kexi spread her hands, as if she were accusing the whole world.
"Heatstroke? What a cheap illness! Does it even apply to someone of my status?"
"Every time I see a doctor, it costs me millions."
You're insulting my illness!
Selina stood to the side, her expression shifting from confusion to blankness.
She figured it out.
Young master is just here to collect medical records.
As for what she's after, she hasn't figured it out yet.
"Quack doctor!" Kexi waved his hand and ordered, "The Sai, smash this!"
"Young Master! Young Master! I'm so sorry!"
Liv rushed forward, grabbed Kexi's sleeve, and pleaded,
"I misread it! Let me show it to you again! Please calm down!"
Kexi raised one eyebrow, looked at her for two seconds, and then slowly sat back on the examination bed, straightening the sleeves that Liv had crumpled.
"Hmm, that's more like it." He raised his chin. "Tell me, what illness do I have?"
Liv took a deep breath, trying to get herself into the zone.
She walked to the examination bed, took Kexi's pulse again, and then examined his eyelids, her expression becoming increasingly serious.
Then she took a step back, nodded deeply, and spoke in a profound and enigmatic tone.
You wouldn't understand even if I told you.
Selina's eye twitched. Liv's reaction time was even faster than hers.
Kexi, however, became interested. "Oh, so arrogant. I like it."
He sat up straight, his eyes shining, and regained his previous serious illness. He said excitedly, "Doctor! Do you think I can still be saved?"
Liv tilted her head back, put her hands behind her back, and adopted the air of a Tall Man: "Yes, young master, yes. All you need are two Coldland Star Moss, two Bloodleaf Viburnum, and half Eclipsing Night Orchid. Just take the medicine according to my prescription, and you will be cured."
"Hmm--" Kexi let out a soft hum.
"It sounds hard to find."
He slapped his thigh suddenly. "That's more like the illness I have!"
He looked at Liv, finding her more and more pleasing to the eye. "So, should these medicines be taken dry, or boiled into a soup?"
Liv shook her head, her expression incredibly profound. "Neither eat it dry nor make soup with it. Just keep it at home as a shrine. The illness will naturally be cured."
Kexi gave a thumbs up, her smile brighter than if she'd won the lottery, "Dr. Liv is truly a miracle worker! I'll definitely see you again next time."
Liv secretly breathed a sigh of relief, her palms sweating profusely. This young master had come specifically to seduce patients. But she was smart enough to know when to cooperate, otherwise the therapy center would really be demolished today.
Selina watched the entire performance from the sidelines, her expression completely numb.
She just wanted to get this drama queen out of there and stop him from making the innocent Dr. Liv sick.
"Kexi! What the hell have you done now?!"
