Christopher's Expression Changed
Danika's wings cast huge shadows on the bluestone platform.
Chisa and Changli were ultimately no match for the boss Danika; the battle lasted only a few rounds.
Chisa and Changli fell to the left and right of each other on the stone ground, their bodies already shrinking before they even hit the ground.
Two rag dolls landed silently on the broken stone slab; one had a miniature long knife tucked into its waistband.
He also held a miniature longsword, as thin as a toothpick, in one hand.
"Senior Sister--! Second Sister--!"
Kexi knelt on the ground, watching helplessly as the two rag dolls fell to the ground.
His voice sounded as if it had been ripped from his chest, hoarse, broken, and trembling with a sense of impending collapse.
Chisa.
Changli.
They were just in front of him, standing between him and death.
Now they have become two rag dolls, lying silently on the cold stone slab.
Yangyang knelt beside Aemeath, the pale blue healing light in her palm had already faded.
She lowered her head, her long eyelashes obscuring her eyes, and the hand resting on Aemeath's chest trembled slightly.
The aura faded not because the energy was depleted, but because she could no longer sense any signs of life that could be restored.
She bit her lower lip and looked up at Kexi's face, which was contorted with grief and anger, her voice so soft it was as if she were afraid of startling something.
"Junior brother... I'm sorry. She's beyond saving."
Yangyang stood up, her light blue skirt stained with Aemeath's blood.
Her hand rested on the hilt of the flying sword at her waist, and she exchanged a glance with Suisui beside her.
"Sister Suisui," Yangyang's voice was very soft, "You on the left, I'll go on the right."
"Okay," Suisui replied crisply.
Two flying swords were drawn simultaneously, one blue and one gold, their sword lights slicing through the dust in front of the mountain gate, heading straight for Danika.
Yangyang moved with the agility of a swallow, her sword tip twirling in the air, creating three sword flowers.
Suisui's swordsmanship was fierce, completely contrary to her personality; each strike carried a resolute determination to perish together with her opponent.
However, neither Chisa nor Changli could be a match for the strengthened Danika, so how could the two of them possibly be her match?
Danika flapped her wings and flipped over to avoid Yangyang's sudden attack. She then used her sharp claws to force Suisui back. Immediately afterward, her wings snapped open, and a dark red shockwave sent both of them flying.
Yangyang's back slammed into a stone pillar at the mountain gate, she groaned, and a trickle of blood escaped from the corner of her mouth.
Suisui fell even further away, the sword flew out of her hand and stuck in a crack in the stone slab. She struggled to stand up, but her arms trembled several times and she couldn't prop herself up.
Danika clapped her hands and walked towards Kexi.
"Stop right there!"
Cioccolata pulled out his gun and fired several shots at her.
Danika didn't even look. She threw a punch with her right hand, and a huge fist, along with her bullet, slammed back and hit Cioccolata hard, sending her flying four or five meters away before she crashed to the ground. The gun she had been holding was nowhere to be seen.
"Cioccolata!!!" Kexi roared as she stared at Cioccolata with red eyes.
Danika walked up to Kexi, bent down, and stretched out her hand; Aemeath's blood still lingered on her five fingers.
"Brother Kexi, come home with me."
I'll fight you to the death!
The golden aura emanating from Kexi erupted once more.
However, he was pinned down by two hands floating in the air, one on the left and one on the right, rendering him unable to move.
Danika smiled and stretched out her glowing right hand to gently stroke his face.
"Brother Kexi, this time, you can't escape. Stay by Danika's side forever."
suddenly.
A chain descended from the sky, wrapped around Danika's wrist, and pulled her back a step.
Danika turned her head away angrily.
Christopher's figure slowly emerged from the void.
The thick book floated in his palm, its pages turning with a rustling sound.
He landed between Danika and Kexi.
Danika glared at him, her meaning clear.
Does that mean you're going to try and stop me too?
"Wait a moment, Danika. I need to speak with my protagonist before the final act."
Christopher turned around, and his eyes, hidden behind the mask, met Kexi's gaze.
Kexi knelt on the ground, facing the culprit who had caused all of this.
His eyes turned gold again, and his hair was gradually swallowed by gold from the roots, but he was pinned down by Danika's claws and could only kneel there, staring intently at Christopher with those golden eyes.
"How do you feel? Do you like this world? This is a world created specifically for you." Christopher crouched down, bringing his gaze level with Kexi's.
The voice that Kexi squeezed out of her throat was no longer human; it was hoarse, broken, and every word was filled with blood and hatred.
"Christopher... you son of a bitch... I'm going to kill you... I'm going to tear you to pieces... I'm going to rip your bones out one by one, I'm going to fuck you..."
Christopher listened quietly to the string of curses, then smiled slightly.
He stood up, closed the book, and slowly rose into the air, hovering in mid-air as he looked down at Kexi, who was kneeling on the stone floor, like a god.
Feel the pain. Think about the pain. Accept the pain. Understand the pain.
"Those who do not understand suffering cannot know the great goals of our Fractsidus."
Christopher's voice softened.
"Kexi, everything you're going through now—is the path we've all walked."
"You are a great seed, providing me with a lot of creative inspiration."
"It's a pity the president wants you dead, otherwise I would really be looking forward to discussing creative ideas with you."
"I'll fucking kill you!!"
Kexi, with strength she didn't know she possessed, broke free from Danika's restraints. Her fist was enveloped in a thin layer of golden light as she leaped high into the air and slammed it down towards Christopher, who was in mid-air.
Christopher casually raised a finger, and a chain shot out from his fingertip, swung the fist that was wrapped around Kexi, and slammed him back to the ground.
The stone slab shattered, Kexi lay sprawled amidst the rubble and blood, her fingers digging into the cracks in the ground as she tried to get up, but her arms trembled several times and she couldn't lift herself.
He looked up at Christopher, the light in his golden eyes gradually dimming.
Christopher looked down at him, then turned his back to him after a moment and gave Danika a curt instruction.
"Danika, let him stay with you forever."
Danika's smile returned, sweet yet sickly.
She walked briskly toward Kexi, who was lying on the ground, her five fingers spread out, each fingertip glowing with a dark red light.
"Stop!"
A clear, cold, and sharp voice came from inside the mountain gate, decisively cutting through the chaotic battlefield.
Everyone looked up at the same time.
Jinhsi rushed out, panting heavily, her hands on her knees, bent over, and gasping for breath.
A person walked out from behind her.
Qiuyuan's gaze swept over the mess on the ground—broken stone slabs, scattered rag dolls, a girl in a wedding dress lying in a pool of blood, and Kexi kneeling in the rubble, covered in blood.
Her brows furrowed, and her voice was as cold as ice.
"What's going on? Who are you? Why did you injure my Mystic Sect disciple?"
Christopher turned around, his gaze lingering on Qiuyuan for a moment beneath his mask, before he gave a slight bow, a perfectly standard and impeccable salute.
"Oh, so you're the sword immortal's clone here? I've long heard of your illustrious reputation, but I've never had the chance to experience it firsthand."
Qiuyuan gave a soft hum and said no more.
With her left hand, she formed a sword incantation and pointed to the sky. As her fingertips passed, the clouds in the sky suddenly churned, and a huge golden sword array unfolded in the air. The array patterns flowed, and the sword light pierced through the gaps in the clouds like the blazing sun.
Then the center of the sword formation split open, and a colossal sword that blotted out the sky pierced vertically down from the clouds, the friction between the sword and the air producing a roar like a mountain collapsing and the earth splitting.
Christopher looked up at the massive sword falling from above, and the smile beneath his mask vanished instantly.
He didn't even have time to dodge.
The giant sword, with its earth-shattering force, pierced straight into the ground, pinning him and the stone slab beneath his feet to the earth.
Smoke and dust billowed into the sky, and pebbles rained down. The entire mountain gate trembled violently under the impact.
"Act recklessly."
