Background / History

Clear Sky Sect Prodigy

Tang Hao is Tang Xiao’s younger brother by fifteen years and the grandson of Tang Chen, the vanished level 99 Peak Douluo. Raised on accounts of his grandfather’s achievements, he aims to become a Peak Douluo and restore the Clear Sky Sect’s former glory as Spirit Hall grows increasingly powerful 17 23.

Recognized as the continent’s foremost prodigy, Tang Hao receives his first Soul Bone at twenty and another before leaving the sect at thirty. These grants establish him as the intended future sect master, with succession expected after he becomes a Titled Douluo. He and Tang Xiao subsequently undertake a ten-year training journey at their father’s instruction 17 20.

Defeats Against Ye Yang

Five years into their journey, the brothers enter the Star Dou Great Forest seeking their Eighth Soul Rings. Both are captivated by Ah Yin, but she distrusts their Clear Sky Hammers and protects Ye Yang when he orders them away. Tang Hao challenges Ye Yang, then briefly loses focus when Tang Xiao identifies Ah Yin as a transformed Soul Beast 17.

Ye Yang exploits that opening with a mental attack and a fused Blue Silver Overlord Spear, cutting Tang Hao’s cheek and splitting his left ear. Tang Hao refuses his brother’s help and escalates the battle through his Sixth Soul Skill, both Soul Bones, and finally his Martial Soul Avatar. Ye Yang breaks the avatar with repeated leaf-hammer attacks, leaving Tang Hao severely wounded and his right arm nearly severed 18 19 20 21.

Tang Xiao carries him away. The defeat also shatters Tang Hao’s confidence: he cannot accept losing a contest of strength to Blue Silver Grass, particularly after using his strongest techniques 22.

Blue Silver King Hunt and Tang Xiao’s Death

Tang Xiao restores Tang Hao’s motivation by proposing that they hunt the Blue Silver King, strengthen themselves, and return for revenge. They also agree to target Ah Yin afterward, assigning her prospective Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Ring to Tang Hao and her Soul Bone to Tang Xiao 23.

After three days of searching, they find and critically injure the Blue Silver King. Ah Yin and Ye Yang interrupt the hunt, and Ye Yang suspends Tang Hao by his hair while attacking him from multiple directions. Tang Hao threatens to detonate his Soul Bones, prompting Ye Yang to throw him away rather than risk a mutually destructive fight. Tang Xiao again rescues him 23 24.

The brothers retreat into the Core Circle. Tang Xiao kills a 70,000-year-old Silverback Black Ape, takes its Soul Ring, and gives its Left Arm Soul Bone to Tang Hao. After recovering sufficiently, they resume the search for Tang Hao’s Eighth Soul Ring 26.

Their search ends in an encounter with the 60,000-year-old Dark Demon Evil God Tiger. Tang Xiao knocks Tang Hao clear before the tiger’s Life and Death Arena reduces Tang Xiao to childhood. Tang Hao witnesses his brother’s death and the devouring of his Soul Power and soul, then flees toward the Clear Sky Sect in terror 26.

Marriage, Fatherhood, and Slaughter City

Tang Hao returns in a severely disturbed state, prompting a dispute over his succession. The sect ultimately retains him under observation. His father personally captures a suitable 90,000-year-old One-Eyed Berserk Demon Bear, whose Soul Ring raises Tang Hao to level 83. Although he regains some awareness, he continues drinking heavily and suffering nightmares about Ye Yang and the tiger 27.

Hoping marriage will improve his condition, his father arranges for him to wed Yang Juan, daughter of Breaking Clan patriarch Yang Wudi. The couple initially sleeps separately; Tang Hao’s father later secretly drugs his drink, and Yang Juan gives birth to Tang San nine and a half months afterward 27.

Tang San’s birth restores some of Tang Hao’s former resolve. Having reached level 85, he leaves a brief letter and departs for Slaughter City, seeking either a transformation through mortal danger or death. He intends to return stronger, claim the sect leadership, avenge his defeats, and eventually take Ah Yin as his Ninth Soul Ring. Within Tang San’s first month, Tang Hao earns the reputation of “Future God of Slaughter” 27 29.

Personality

Tang Hao is proud, aggressive, and accustomed to overwhelming opponents through force. During his first battle with Ye Yang, he initially avoids using higher-ranked Soul Rings because Ah Yin is watching, then refuses Tang Xiao’s intervention after being injured. Even with a mangled hand and broken toes, he continues trying to overpower Ye Yang directly 18 20.

His confidence is fragile when confronted with humiliating defeat. Losing to Blue Silver Grass leaves him unresponsive and despairing; Tang Xiao’s encouragement revives him largely by offering a route to greater strength and revenge. His brother’s subsequent death causes a deeper collapse, followed by heavy drinking and recurring nightmares 22 23 26 27.

Despite his recklessness, Tang Hao values his brother and the sect’s survival. While recovering in the forest, he tells Tang Xiao to remove his Soul Bones and escape if necessary, insisting that at least one brother must live to preserve the Clear Sky Sect’s future 26.

Abilities & Skills

Clear Sky Hammer

The Clear Sky Hammer is described as the foremost Tool Martial Soul, combining exceptional striking power with comparatively slow attack speed 17 18.

  • Combat strength: At level 80 without an Eighth Soul Ring, Tang Hao can already contend with a true Soul Douluo 19.
  • Full-power potential: Ye Yang estimates that an uninjured Tang Hao using his avatar and both original Soul Bones would approach Titled Douluo strength 20.
  • Vulnerability: Injuries and depleted spiritual and Soul Power reserves prevent him from fully condensing his avatar, leaving weaknesses Ye Yang can exploit 20 21.

Documented Soul Rings

Tang Hao initially possesses two yellow, two purple, and three black Soul Rings. His second ring approaches the thousand-year threshold, while his fourth approaches ten thousand years 17.

Ring Source / Age Documented Effect
First Gale Demon Wolf, approximately 400 years old Increases attack speed, compensating for the Clear Sky Hammer’s slower movements 18.
Sixth Ten-thousand-year Soul Ring; source unspecified Repairs damage to the hammer and doubles its size 18.
Seventh Source and age unspecified beyond its black coloration Activates the Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul Avatar 17 20.
Eighth 90,000-year-old One-Eyed Berserk Demon Bear Completes his advancement to Soul Douluo and raises his Soul Power to level 83; its specific skill is not described 27.

Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer

A Clear Sky Sect hammer technique that draws power from coordinated movement of the legs, waist, back, and shoulders 18.

  • At its highest mastery, it chains 81 uninterrupted blows, each stronger than the last 18.
  • Tang Hao uses its rotational mechanics to deflect Ye Yang’s initial spear attack, but the immediate danger leaves him no time to deliver a second blow 18.
  • The passages do not establish that Tang Hao has mastered the complete 81-blow sequence 18.

Martial Soul Avatar

Tang Hao’s Seventh Soul Skill manifests an enormous Clear Sky Hammer with a five-meter-long head and a twenty-meter shaft 20.

  • Its descending force parts stream water, displaces stones and silt, and violently shakes vegetation within a hundred meters 20.
  • Ye Yang destroys the damaged avatar with 240 leaf-hammer strikes and one final Soul Bone leaf-vein hammer blow, while repeatedly attacking its handle 21.

Recovery and Endurance

  • Natural recovery: His constitution and cultivation allow his bleeding wounds, Soul Power, and Spiritual Power to recover rapidly after the first defeat 23.
  • Limits: His nearly severed right arm cannot heal immediately; Tang Xiao expects complete recovery to require at least ten days to half a month 23.
  • Soul Bone detonation: He threatens to burn and detonate his Soul Bones during his second defeat, but does not complete the action 24.

Equipment / Soul Bones

  • Right Arm Soul Bone — An inherited sect treasure from a 30,000-year-old strength-type Soul Beast. Tang Hao uses it to reinforce his attempt to seize Ye Yang’s spear; Ye Yang later nearly severs the fused bone during the avatar battle 20 21.
  • Left Leg Soul Bone — An inherited speed-enhancing bone. He uses its power while kicking aside Ye Yang’s spear, suffering severe foot injuries in the process 20.
  • Left Arm Soul Bone — Obtained from the 70,000-year-old Silverback Black Ape killed by Tang Xiao. Fusion substantially strengthens Tang Hao and accelerates his recovery 26.
  • Acquisition history — His first two Soul Bones were granted at ages twenty and thirty, though the passages do not identify which was awarded first 20.

Relationships

  • Tang Xiao — Elder brother and fellow Clear Sky Twin Star. Repeatedly rescues Tang Hao, restores his determination after defeat, and gives him the Silverback Black Ape’s Soul Bone. His death profoundly traumatizes Tang Hao 17 22 23 24 26.
  • Father / Clear Sky Sect Master — A level 97 Super Douluo who supports Tang Hao’s recovery, captures his Eighth Soul Ring’s source, arranges his marriage, and intervenes to ensure he produces a descendant 27.
  • Tang Chen — Grandfather and vanished level 99 Peak Douluo. His achievements inspire Tang Hao’s ambition to restore the sect’s glory 23.
  • Yang Juan — Wife by arranged marriage and Tang San’s mother. Their marriage is emotionally distant, and Tang Hao leaves for Slaughter City shortly after their son’s birth 27.
  • Tang San — Son. His birth helps rekindle Tang Hao’s resolve, though Tang Hao departs that same night, leaving the child in the care of a wet nurse and his grandfather 27.
  • Ye Yang — Enemy who defeats and humiliates him twice. Tang Hao’s desire for revenge becomes a principal motive for seeking greater strength 18 21 24 27.
  • Ah Yin / Blue Silver Emperor — Initially an object of attraction, later a proposed Soul Ring target. In this novel’s altered events, she sides with Ye Yang rather than becoming Tang Hao’s wife 17 23 27.
  • Dark Demon Evil God Tiger — Kills Tang Xiao before Tang Hao’s eyes and becomes another target of his intended revenge 26 27.

Changes from the Original Story

  • Different spouse: Ye Yang’s intervention prevents Tang Hao’s original relationship with Ah Yin; Tang San is instead born to Tang Hao and Yang Juan 6 27 28.
  • No sacrifice from Ah Yin: Ye Yang recalls that, in the original story, Ah Yin’s sacrifice raised Tang Hao from level 90 to level 92 and enabled him to gravely wound Qian Xunji. These are original-story events, not documented advancements of this Tang Hao 44.
  • Tang Xiao dies: Rather than surviving to become sect master as in the original story, Tang Xiao is killed by the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger 23 26.
