Ye Lingling’s lineage follows the rule of “one lineage, one successor,” leaving only one heir in each generation. From childhood, her mother taught her that possessing an exceptional healing Martial Soul meant she could not live solely for herself. Lingling came to regard her health and availability as obligations to those who depended on her 18.

As the Imperial Fighting Team’s healer, she attended to Dugu Yan’s poison, Shi Mo’s injuries, and Yu Tianheng’s old ailment. Her habit of sitting alone in a corner was not a rejection of her teammates: she deliberately made herself unobtrusive while remaining ready to treat them 18.

Meeting Tang Yin

During the battle against the Vine King, Lingling felt her Martial Soul stir in response to Tang Yin’s power. After he absorbed his second Soul Ring, she directly asked which Martial Soul could have caused that resonance. His answer—Blue Silver Grass—astonished her and the others 10 11.

Before leaving, she gave him a token bearing the character “Ye” and invited him to find her at the Ye Family Pharmacy in Heaven Dou City. Dual-Support Training

After witnessing their combined healing during a drill, Qin Ming assigned Lingling and Tang Yin additional coordination training. Their first dedicated treatment session unexpectedly produced a Martial Soul Fusion Skill, Jade Firmament Nine Hearts—All Things Grow 15 16.

The fusion also let them sense one another’s inner lives. Lingling perceived an inaccessible depth and unusual weariness within Tang Yin, but did not demand an explanation. In the city’s night market, she bought him a silver half-mask; shortly afterward, Tang Yin restrained the drunken Dai Mubai when he attempted to touch her shoulder, releasing him after he admitted fault 28 29.

Lingling subsequently entered the Great Soul Arena with the Imperial Fighting Team to face Shrek, reassuring Tang Yin before the match and releasing her Nine Heart Begonia as the battle began 31.

She respects emotional boundaries. Although the fusion skill exposes something she cannot understand within Tang Yin, she chooses patience rather than interrogation and promises to keep their experience private 17 19.
