The six wings behind Qian Daoliu instantly folded away, and the golden light radiating from his body slowly faded.

"Just now, I used my Soul Power pressure to force you down for two reasons. First, I wanted to see how deep your foundations ran. Second, I wanted to find out whether you had used evil methods to make breakthrough after breakthrough in such a short time."

Jun Yan raised his head and asked, "What did your test reveal, Great Enshrined?"

Qian Daoliu did not answer Jun Yan. Instead, he turned and walked toward the Six-Winged Angel, speaking slowly as he went.

"Martial Souls themselves are neither righteous nor evil. What decides whether a Soul Master is righteous or evil is their heart. Spirit Hall has stood on the Douluo Continent for a thousand years, and the reason we became the continent's sole faith is that, under the Angel God's guidance, we follow the righteous path and root out evil."

"You still haven't answered my question, Great Enshrined," Jun Yan pressed, a stubborn look in his eyes.

"Yan'er!" Jun Kuang hurriedly tried to stop him.

One of the worships standing at the far end stepped forward, pointed at Jun Yan, and shouted sternly, "How dare you speak to the Great Enshrined like that!"

With his back to the group, Qian Daoliu raised his right hand to interrupt the worship.

"Guang Ling!"

"Yes!" Light Feather Douluo lowered his head and stepped back.

Qian Daoliu turned around and looked at Jun Yan with a smile. "I know proud sons of heaven like you have your pride. After all, I was just like you when I was young. I can understand your resentment after I used my strength to suppress you just now. Since you're young and spirited, I won't hold your earlier offense against you."

"Thank you, Great Enshrined!" Jun Yan casually cupped his hands.

"Your Soul Power is abundant and pure, surpassing even that of a Soul Douluo. Your foundations are deep and solid, nothing like the unstable state of someone who broke through using evil methods."

Qian Daoliu clasped his hands behind his back. "Breaking through so many levels of Soul Power in such a short time is rare, but not unprecedented. I simply didn't see that possibility in you."

Breaking through ten levels of Soul Power in a year was simply unbelievable to an ordinary Soul Master, but to Qian Daoliu, a priest of the Angel God, it was not impossible.

The God Trials could accomplish it, but Qian Daoliu also knew full well that Jun Yan was not a god's inheritor. There were no traces of divine power left in his body.

"Actually, I'm rather curious myself. Can you tell me how you did it?"

Qian Daoliu's dignified, calm voice echoed through the hall.

Although he had released no pressure this time, Jun Yan still felt it. He even had the urge to lay everything out on the table.

But Jun Yan immediately suppressed the impulse. He had prepared his answer long ago and blurted it out.

"Martial Soul Awakening."

"Martial Soul... You mean a Martial Soul Second Awakening?"

Qian Daoliu recalled what he knew about Jun Yan, then said thoughtfully, "I remember your Martial Soul is called Wood Release. Hmm... A strange name."

"I named it myself," Jun Yan explained. "I can control trees with it, so that's what I called it.

"I originally thought my Martial Soul was just an ability with no physical form, but after its Second Awakening, I learned that my Martial Soul is actually my body, and controlling trees is my body's strongest ability."

A worship asked in confusion, "Your body? Can that become a Martial Soul too? Aren't there only Tool Martial Souls and Beast Martial Souls?"

"Of course not," Golden Crocodile Douluo, the oldest person present, immediately said.

Although Qian Daoliu was the strongest, he did not know a great deal about Martial Soul Theory either, so he said to Golden Crocodile, "Second Worship, please explain it to me!"

Golden Crocodile Douluo nodded. "Martial Souls come in all sorts of strange varieties, and they can mutate when passed down. Some Soul Masters' Martial Souls take the form of a part of their body, such as their eyes, ears, arms, or heart. Such Soul Masters are rare, so few records exist. But I remember that the strength of their Martial Souls is often related to the importance of the body part. I wonder which part your Martial Soul is."

Jun Yan frowned. "My body. Didn't I just say so?"

Golden Crocodile Douluo was patient. He nodded and said, "I know it's your body, but is it your arm, torso, or leg? It must be some part of it."

"Don't you understand what a body is? From head to toe-that's called a body."

As he spoke, Jun Yan pointed from his head down to his feet.

"?" Golden Crocodile Douluo's eyes widened as he stared at Jun Yan. "That kind of body!"

A sturdy worship beside Qian Daoliu asked in a deep, muffled voice, "Second Brother, you mean the more important the part, the stronger the Martial Soul. So how strong is his?"

Golden Crocodile rolled his eyes. "How would I know? Spirit Hall has no record of anything like this, but it should be very strong!"

"All right, I understand what you mean by a Physical Martial Soul now."

After a pause, Qian Daoliu continued, "You're saying your Soul Power rose so much only after your Martial Soul's Second Awakening?"

"Yes. After my Martial Soul awakened, I felt that my physical condition improved a great deal. More power poured into my body, and my cultivation began advancing by leaps and bounds. That's how I reached my current level."

Qian Daoliu said, "According to the Second Worship, your Martial Soul was already a top-tier Martial Soul, so it's normal for your cultivation speed to increase after it awakened. You're just a little too fast."

Finally, Qian Daoliu said, "All right, I understand your situation. You may go."

"Yes. Then I'll take my leave." Jun Yan cupped his hands and prepared to depart.

"Wait." Qian Daoliu suddenly called him back.

"Do you have any other instructions, Great Enshrined?" Jun Yan asked, turning his head.

Qian Daoliu said, "Your talent is outstanding, even surpassing the Holy Maiden's in some respects. I believe you'll soon become an elder, perhaps even enter Douluo Hall and become a worship."

"You flatter me, Great Enshrined," Jun Yan replied.

"Conduct yourself well. Don't waste your talent, and don't disappoint me."

With that, Qian Daoliu waved his hand, signaling Jun Yan to leave.

Jun Yan turned and left the hall.

Soon, Qian Daoliu's voice rang out again in the silent hall. "What is it? Do you have something else to say?"

The five worships all turned their eyes on Jun Kuang. Qian Daoliu had told Jun Yan to leave earlier, but he had not mentioned Jun Kuang, so Jun Kuang was still there.

Jun Kuang looked bewildered. "Wasn't it you who summoned me to Elder Hall, Great Enshrined?"

Under the worships' strange gazes, Jun Kuang's heart pounded. He hurriedly saluted Qian Daoliu and said, "I'll take my leave," before immediately heading out of the hall.

Only after leaving Elder Hall did Jun Kuang breathe a sigh of relief. Having all five worships looking at him at once had been far too much pressure.

"What did the worships say to you, Father? Why do you look like that?"

A voice suddenly sounded beside Jun Kuang's ear.

Jun Kuang immediately looked in the direction of the voice and saw Jun Yan leaning sideways against a pillar, watching him.

"They didn't say anything," Jun Kuang said, shaking his head.

Jun Yan asked, "They didn't? Then why did you stay there instead of leaving?"

"You brat, you didn't call me to leave with you, and because of that I..."

Jun Kuang thought back to the five worships looking at him together and still felt his heart flutter.

Jun Yan smiled. "It's not as if you didn't know I was leaving. I thought you had something to say."

Jun Kuang wore a helpless expression. "The Great Enshrined didn't tell me to leave, did he? I thought they had something to say to me."

"So you were overthinking it?" Jun Yan asked.

"Yes. What the hell are you laughing at, brat?"

Annoyed, Jun Kuang swung a palm at the top of Jun Yan's head, but Jun Yan ducked and dodged it.

"But was everything you told the Great Enshrined just now true?"

"Of course!"

Jun Yan had always believed in tailoring his words to the person he was speaking to.

He could easily brush Jun Kuang off. Even if he made up a reason at random, Jun Kuang would believe him.

As for Yue Guan and Gui Mei, he attributed the cause to Immortal Herbs.

Because he had saved Gui Mei's life, the two would not turn on him and seize the Immortal Herbs, nor would they reveal his secret.

Jun Yan could also use the Immortal Herbs to befriend them. Once his strength surpassed theirs, whether they would choose to side with Jun Yan, who had drawn close to them, or with the Pope would go without saying.

With Qian Daoliu, Jun Yan gave the credit to his Martial Soul's Second Awakening. Unlike Immortal Herbs, a Second Awakening could not be seized or taken away.

The only result would be that Qian Daoliu would regard Jun Yan as a rare genius, and one raised by Spirit Hall at that.

Qian Jun and Jiang Mo had been punished by Qian Xunji and ordered to reflect in seclusion, leaving the entire Enforcement Corps in Yue Guan and Gui Mei's hands. They were riding high on a spring breeze.

The two spent several days dealing with the work that had piled up in the Enforcement Corps before coming to Jun Yan's home.

Before setting out for Sea God Island, they had agreed to visit the place Jun Yan had mentioned where Immortal Herbs grew.

But who could have imagined that Spirit Hall would suffer a crushing defeat on Sea God Island? They had no chance to look for the Immortal Herbs and could only return to Spirit City first.

Now that they had finally finished their work, Yue Guan could not wait to drag Gui Mei along to find Jun Yan.

Hearing Yue Guan out, Jun Yan was somewhat surprised that he was in such a hurry. "We're setting out to look for the Immortal Herbs now?"

Yue Guan nodded, visibly excited. "Of course! I can't wait to see what a real Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum looks like."

Seeing that Jun Yan seemed somewhat reluctant, Yue Guan was startled. "You weren't lying to me before, were you?"

"Of course not!" Jun Yan hurriedly denied it. "Since you're in such a hurry, I'll take you there."

"No time like the present. Let's leave now." Yue Guan pulled Jun Yan toward the door.

The three soon left Spirit City and headed for the Heaven Dou Empire.

While Yue Guan and Gui Mei were not paying attention, Jun Yan activated his Rinnegan and used it to communicate with the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger.

"Leave Sunset Forest now and clear away your traces."

"What's wrong?"

During this time, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger had also learned how to communicate with Jun Yan using spiritual power.

"I'm bringing people there."

"Where should we go, then?" the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger asked.

After thinking for a moment, Jun Yan said, "Return to the Heaven Dou Great Forest and wait on the side near the Star Luo Empire."

"All right." The Dark Demon Evil God Tiger ended the conversation.

Although Yue Guan and Gui Mei were Titled Douluo, they were still considerably slower than the Azure Baleful Eagle, which excelled at flying.

By the time the three reached Sunset Forest, the Dark Demon Evil God Tiger and the other Soul Beasts had long since left.

Standing atop a mountain in the heart of Sunset Forest, Jun Yan pointed at the valley below, where vapor was still rising. "It's down there."

"Let's go." The three jumped down one after another.

"Ah! So many exotic flowers and plants!" Yue Guan shouted as soon as he landed.

For a while, Yue Guan seemed to be in heaven. He looked at the various rare flowers and plants on the ground, exclaiming in surprise again and again.

"This is a Snow Silkworm, and a top-quality one at that."

"Is this a Cinnabar Lotus? It actually grew this big?"

Suddenly, Yue Guan's voice cut off, and he stood quietly in place.

"What's wrong, Chrysanthemum Guan?" Gui Mei came forward and asked.

Yue Guan ignored Gui Mei completely. He lunged forward and lay down in front of a large flower, his backside sticking up.

It was rather comical to see a dignified Titled Douluo striking such a pose.

Before him was a large, pale pink flower. It had no leaves, and its stem was three feet long. The blossom was enormous, a full foot across, and each petal looked as clear and translucent as crystal. The pale pink flower swayed gently in the mist.

Its stamens were pale purple, like little purple diamonds set within it. They gave off a delicate fragrance, as alluring as a maiden's natural scent. It was not strong, but it carried a long way.

Gui Mei walked over to Yue Guan and looked at the large flower. "This flower is pretty and smells good. Is it something valuable?"

Yue Guan glanced at Gui Mei as though looking at a bumpkin. "What would you know? This is an Aromatic Silk Beauty!"

"An Immortal Herb? This is the kind you were talking about?"

Gui Mei had heard Yue Guan say before that Immortal Herbs were immensely precious. He turned to look at the large flower again. It was very pretty and smelled wonderful, but he could not see what was so special about it.

"This Immortal Herb is the bane of all poisons. It can neutralize any toxin. Within the range of its fragrance, every poison loses its effect. Mind you, that means every poison. It's daytime now, but at night you'd be able to see the fragrance's range as a faint pink dome of light."

"Every poison? It's that powerful?" Gui Mei was astonished by Yue Guan's words. If it was as Yue Guan said, then it was certainly powerful.

Meanwhile, Jun Yan had walked over to the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum. "Elder Ju, look. Isn't this your Martial Soul?"

Yue Guan turned and saw an enormous chrysanthemum swaying gently at Jun Yan's feet. A white figure flickered, and Yue Guan moved from the Aromatic Silk Beauty to the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum.

Yue Guan opened his right hand, and a chrysanthemum identical to the one on the ground appeared in it.

Gui Mei came over as well. He carefully studied the two chrysanthemums, one large and one small, and finally said, "They really are exactly the same!"

Jun Yan smiled. "Elder Ju, this Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum is yours."

Yue Guan reached out and gently touched a petal of the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum on the ground, then looked up at Jun Yan.

"This Immortal Herb is so precious. Are you really willing to give it to me?"

Jun Yan laughed heartily. "Didn't we agree on that long ago?"

Yue Guan nodded, then abruptly raised his head and said firmly, "From now on, Jun Yan, you're my brother, closer to me than a brother by blood."

Hearing that, Gui Mei felt somewhat displeased and asked Yue Guan, "What about me?"

"What's it got to do with you?" Yue Guan replied bluntly.

"Why, you, Chrysanthemum Guan!" Gui Mei pointed at Yue Guan and cursed.

Jun Yan stopped Gui Mei. "Cool down first, Elder Gui. I actually have something for you too."

With that, he walked over to a translucent white plant. It looked as spotless as a green lotus and white lotus root.

"This Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone is my gift to you, Elder Gui."

Yue Guan recognized the Immortal Herb easily and assessed it with an expert eye. "Narcissus Jade Muscle Bone. This is an Immortal Herb of the same grade as the Singular Velvet Sky Chrysanthemum. As for its properties, they're well suited to Old Ghost."

It looks like only one chapter, but it's actually the word count of two!
