Tang San! You Dare Hit Your Old Man!
Things always seemed to go against one's wishes. Even though Tang San's expectant eyes were practically glued to Tang Hao, Tang Hao didn't say a word to him, much less give him a proper look.
Tang Hao's behavior left Tang San deeply frustrated.
When Tang Hao had first seen his Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul, his expression had been just like he was looking at his own wife. How had the difference in how he treated the two of them grown so large ever since his older brother had beaten him with a little hammer?
Could it be?!!
Tang San looked at Tang Hao's back, his eyes shining. He thought he had figured out how to make his father like him and give him a present.
Excited by the thought, Tang San quietly hid the smithing hammer behind his back and followed Tang Hao into the inner room under Han Yu's puzzled gaze. Before long, Tang San's cries and Tang Hao's furious curses rang out together.
"Tang San! You fucking dare hit your old man!"
"Dad, boo-hoo-hoo. I was wrong, I was wrong."
"You little bastard! If I don't beat you to death today, I'll take your surname!"
"Dad!! I really know I was wrong!! Boo-hoo-hoo."
Even the Tang Sect's Third Young Master, with all his experience from his previous life, was beaten by Tang Hao until he was crying for his father and mother.
After learning that Han Yu had the Clear Sky Hammer Martial Soul, Tang Hao had become certain that Han Yu was his biological child. So he didn't hold back in the slightest while giving Tang San this beating. It was only because Tang San had the Mysterious Heaven Skill to provide some defense that he wasn't beaten to death on the spot.
Tsk, tsk, tsk.
Han Yu sat at the table, watching what happened in the inner room, shaking his head and clicking his tongue.
"Old man! Left hook, uppercut, kick him, kick him!"
"Little San, dodge right, dodge left. Oh, come on, can you do it or not? You couldn't even dodge that?"
The farce finally ended only when Tang San's dark little face had been beaten into a pig's head. Seeing the look in Tang Hao's eyes, as though he still hadn't had enough, Tang San didn't dare linger. He quickly picked up the hammer and limped out of the inner room. After putting the hammer away, he returned to his room to rest for a while.
"Ow. Ow."
Tang San lay on the kang, the pain coming from all over his body making him yelp incessantly.
With a bang, dust fell from the walls and ceiling. Clearly, Tang Hao couldn't stand Tang San's behavior and had slammed his hand against the wall.
Before Tang San could make another sound, Tang Hao's furious voice came through the wall.
"You little bastard! If you whimper one more time, I'll skin you alive!"
With his own father having said that, how could the ever-filial Tang San dare make another sound? But the pain in his body was no illusion. To keep quiet, he could only press the quilt tightly over his mouth and nose and rely entirely on his Mysterious Heaven Skill to heal him slowly.
After watching this grand display of fatherly affection and filial devotion, Han Yu didn't stay home long. Instead, he went out for a stroll.
Old Jack had already told everyone in the village about the Innate Full Soul Power. Even people in some other villages knew that two children with Soul Power had awakened in Holy Soul Village this year, and that one of them had Innate Full Soul Power.
So as soon as Han Yu stepped outside, men and women, both those he knew and those he had never met, greeted him with smiles. Some even stuffed homegrown vegetables and eggs into his arms, and one person went so far as to force an old hen on him.
Just as the saying went, a poor man in a bustling market had no one to ask after him, while a rich man deep in the mountains had distant relatives.
Even the countless times Han Yu had mischievously sold Tang San as a child were described by the villagers as, "This boy was clever from the time he was little."
With a sigh, Han Yu put the eggs and vegetables into his Soul Tool. As for the old hen, he gave it to Village Chief Old Jack, who treated him best.
Amid the villagers' repeated praises, Han Yu walked out of Holy Soul Village and came to a valley, where he gazed into the distance.
White clouds drifted beneath the azure sky, and in the distance, sky and land met in a single line.
Han Yu was admiring the scenery of the Douluo Continent when, out of the corner of his eye, he suddenly spotted a rock halfway up the valley slope wobbling back and forth, as though something beneath it was straining to push it aside.
Han Yu found the sight amusing. He bent down, picked up a pebble, and closed his left eye to take aim with his right.
All right! Now!
With a whoosh, Han Yu aimed and hurled the pebble with all his might. The sound of it cutting through the air carried back to his ears.
Under his expectant gaze, it missed, just as one might expect.
If once didn't work, he would try again. Han Yu didn't give up. He kept picking up pebbles and throwing them at the rock halfway up the slope. He hit it a few times, but failed to knock it away. The creature beneath the rock even seemed to have been struck through the mountain, for it stopped moving.
Annoyed, Han Yu took an upright "Adamantine Staff" in hand and carefully made his way halfway up the slope. He used it to lift the rock and let it roll down the mountain.
Once Han Yu had lifted the rock, the creature underneath was revealed: a blade of Blue Silver Grass.
Although countless blades of Blue Silver Grass grew in the area, this one was completely different from the others. It seemed alive, and there were fine streaks of gold in its markings. On closer inspection, the blade of Blue Silver Grass was actually blue-gold.
"Th-this!"
Others might not recognize this unusual Blue Silver Grass, but Han Yu certainly did.
Near Holy Soul Village, there couldn't possibly be any Blue Silver Grass Soul Beast other than Ah Yin, the Blue Silver Emperor who had died in sacrifice.
Almost unable to believe it, Han Yu walked over to the unusual blade of Blue Silver Grass and examined it closely for a while before he dared confirm it. Just then, he noticed the tip of a black box poking out of a patch of soil beside the Blue Silver Emperor where no Blue Silver Grass grew. If the rock hadn't just rolled away, the black box wouldn't have been exposed.
Han Yu thought for a moment, and a thought flashed through his mind. He already understood what was inside the box.
After the Blue Silver Emperor's sacrifice, Tang Hao had absorbed only the Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring, while he had hidden away the Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone. Han Yu hadn't expected it to be right beside the Blue Silver Emperor.
After digging it out, he discovered that it would be more fitting to call it a chest than a box.
It was about one and a half meters long and one chi wide.
Holding his excitement in check a little, Han Yu let out a long breath and opened the box.
At once, a gentle presence surged out of the black box, a presence brimming with life. Looking closely, he saw that the entire right leg bone was a crystal-clear blue-gold, with what looked like specks of starlight twinkling inside it.
"The Blue Silver Emperor's Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone."
Now that he had finally seen the Soul Bone, Han Yu would have thrown back his head and laughed if the setting hadn't been wrong.
The Blue Silver Emperor's Hundred Thousand Year Soul Bone offered no means of attack, only life recovery and flight. Han Yu didn't know why the Blue Silver Emperor's Soul Bone had a flight Soul Skill, but it did.
Just as Han Yu was about to absorb the Soul Bone, his Little Tree Martial Soul sent an urgent message into his mind.
