Battle with the Demon Spider
Silvery-white lightning lit up the entire palace, its glare so bright that no one could keep their eyes open.
Terrifying arcs of lightning flashed, tearing rifts in the void itself.
The surrounding Venerables turned pale and retreated with cries of alarm.
Boom!
A terrifying report rang out as the lightning fist collided with the enormous green hand. Their forces were so fearsome that the entire hall shook from the impact, and the faces of those nearby changed.
"That's impossible! He's actually evenly matched with the patriarch."
"The patriarch must be holding back. He doesn't want to kill him too quickly."
"Patriarch, please finish him off quickly. Fighting for the symbol bone is more important right now."
"..."
A group of Demon Spiders spoke up, their faces still full of confidence.
That was the patriarch of the Demon Spider lineage, who had swept aside all opponents since birth. Now that he had become a Divine Being, surely taking down a youth would be simple.
Thud! Thud! Thud!
Their clash ended, and Lei Chong and the Demon Spider both stumbled backward.
Boom!
Lei Chong stamped his feet into the void, tearing open a rift. Using the force of the rebound, he lunged forward.
At that moment, five immortal birds circled and danced around him, forming a ring before him that hurtled forward with a howl.
"Hmph." The Demon Spider snorted coldly and spat out a great web. Strands of mysterious power radiated from it, sealing off a vast area of space.
Hum!
The void trembled with a faint hum. The space within the web in particular was suppressed by a terrifying mysterious power, as though pinned down beneath a primordial demonic mountain.
Boom!
The divine ring formed by the immortal birds shook, sending faint ripples spreading outward. They drove back the surrounding suppression, allowing Lei Chong to move again.
The Demon Spider's expression was cold as he directed the web down over him.
The arm-thick strands of silk glowed with a faint green light. It was a mysterious poison that corroded the void with a series of hissing cracks.
The venom was terrifying. Even the slightest touch was enough to reduce a person to pus and blood, let alone being ensnared by the silk.
Even Lei Chong's expression grew grave. He did not dare come into contact with the venom lightly.
Hum!
The five immortal birds cried softly as the flames around them surged ever higher. Five kinds of divine flame burned together, striking the great web overhead.
Puff!
The five-colored divine flames set the web alight, and green smoke drifted upward.
It was all poisonous smoke, and its toxicity was terrifying.
Whoosh!
Feathered wings appeared behind Lei Chong, wrapped in a layer of lightning. With a flap, they stirred up a gale that swept up the poisonous smoke and turned it into wind blades.
Puff! Puff! Puff!
The emerald-green wind blades were like heavenly blades, slicing rift after rift through the void before striking a group of Demon Spiders.
They were all Demon Spider Venerables who had been watching the show just moments before. They had never expected the wind blades to descend and strike them all.
Hiss!
Emerald-green smoke rose incessantly from them. They had all been corroded by the poison.
"Ah..." Several screams rang out as they all fell to the ground, the scorn on their faces turning to pain.
They curled up on the ground, unable to expel the toxins.
"How despicable! You even took the chance to launch a sneak attack on us."
"Patriarch, save us! We can't hold on!"
"..."
Those toxins had been nurtured by a Divine Being. Although cultivation realms were suppressed here, their toxicity did not weaken and could even produce a terrifying effect.
It was just like the monk from the Western Sect. Even though his cultivation realm had been suppressed, his physical body had not changed, and he still inspired dread in others.
Whoosh!
The Demon Spider Divine Being opened his mouth and inhaled. The green poisonous smoke rose and disappeared into his mouth and nose, saving the Demon Spider Venerables.
Boom!
While the Demon Spider was saving them, lightning flashed around Lei Chong, forming a huge lightning spear that shot toward the Demon Spider's body.
The golden lightning spear was frighteningly sharp, as though it could pierce heaven and earth.
"Hmph!"
The Demon Spider snorted coldly, and two beams of black light shot from his eyes.
They were two pitch-black sabers, covered in terrifying patterns. They were demonic markings, the imprints left when the Demon Spider refined the sabers.
Hum!
The sabers cut through the void and slashed at the golden bolt of lightning.
Crack!
The golden bolt exploded in the void. Countless arcs of lightning coiled around the sabers, crackling and making the blades hum.
"Hmph!" The Demon Spider snorted coldly. His pitch-black pupils spun, making the two sabers tremble and cut through the lightning surrounding them.
The two pitch-black sabers did not stop, slashing straight toward Lei Chong.
Hum!
The sabers were truly terrifying. Like two black holes, they were dark and unfathomably deep, with a terrifying suction force.
Lei Chong continually formed hand seals, and his body transformed into a Kunpeng.
The Kunpeng shook its head and swished its tail, as though about to soar ninety thousand li into the sky. Its terrifying presence surged around it as it charged straight at the black hole.
"This..." The surrounding Venerables were all stunned.
They were astounded by Lei Chong's boldness, that he dared charge straight into the black hole.
They were even more astounded by his abilities. He could actually use the Kunpeng Method.
"So it's him! Back in the Kunpeng Nest, he plundered until the various races fled like rats. I didn't expect him to come here too," someone said, recognizing him.
Boom!
The enormous Kunpeng crashed into the black hole, yin and yang Qi constantly circulating around it. The saber hummed from the impact before finally being sent flying.
He had first used the Thunder Emperor Technique and then the Kunpeng Method, hoping only that the True Phoenix's soul still existed in this palace and would give some response after sensing the two precious techniques of the Ten Fiends.
Even a little more closeness might allow him to learn the precious technique sooner.
The phoenix bone did not stir, nor did it give him any response.
Hum!
The Demon Spider's two Heavenly Blades had been broken, and he had clearly suffered some damage as well. He revealed his true form: an emerald-green spider as large as a giant mountain.
That was with his size somewhat suppressed. Otherwise, his form would have been even more terrifying.
Hiss!
The Demon Spider raised his spider legs like two razor-sharp war spears. The emerald-green hairs on them stood on end like steel needles, coated in terrifying venom.
The two spider legs pressed down, their sharp, cold gleam making people tremble.
Lei Chong raised both hands. Countless symbols gathered between his palms and fingers, forming phoenix wings along his arms, where terrifying flames burned.
Hum!
On the altar at the center, the phoenix bone trembled with a faint hum.
Strands of flame burned, as though a True Phoenix were dancing.
"The phoenix bone moved! What's going on?" a Venerable shouted.
Even Lei Chong noticed it, and his heart stirred.
"Hmph. You dare get distracted while fighting me? In that case, die," the Demon Spider said in a chilling voice.
Boom!
An enormous spider leg pressed down and struck the blazing phoenix wing. Its emerald-green point stabbed forward, piercing the fiery red wing.
Bang!
The fiery red phoenix wing exploded. Wisps of divine flame soared into the sky, wrapping around the spider leg and beginning to burn it.
"Hmph." The Demon Spider snorted coldly and sprayed out emerald-green venom, enveloped in his magic power, to extinguish the flames.
But Lei Chong's brow glowed, and a golden mark flew out.
The golden mark was incredibly fast, reaching the Demon Spider in the blink of an eye.
The Demon Spider's expression changed drastically. Two dark beams shot from his eyes as he tried to intercept the mark, but he failed, and the golden mark struck him between the brows.
