Background / History

Feng Zhuo grew up in the Feng Household’s direct line. His mother, Feng Qingge, belonged to the Perching Phoenix Clan, while his father, Qingyangzi, was the Wood Peak Master of the Great Void Five Elements Sect. With few children of his own age in the clan leader’s line, he often received companionship from his mother’s phoenix-shaped spirit fire, Feng Yao, while his parents cultivated in seclusion 5 13.

He learned to read at three and extensively studied the Feng Household’s alchemy texts and medicinal-herb guides. His interest in pill refinement developed alongside the spell cultivation practiced by both parents 10 23.

In his previous life, he became Chixiao’s fourth disciple and Su Ruanruan’s senior brother. Although he contracted the Glazed Purifying Fire, his pills remained a grade below hers, and his three senior brothers ostracized him. He nevertheless continued to value their bonds as fellow disciples 1.

After his death, he learned from a storybook that Su Ruanruan had nourished his flame with her heart’s blood for forty-nine days while Chixiao secretly weakened his contract. The theft of the flame led to his death. His parents also met disastrous ends after seeking revenge 1 5.

Feng Zhuo returned to the day he entered the Supreme One Divine Sect at twelve. Unable to leave without being treated as a sect traitor, he sought a different master. He chose Carefree Peak because its members had opposed Su Ruanruan rather than becoming her supporters 1.

Appearance

Personality

Feng Zhuo’s rebirth replaces his former naïveté with suspicion and a determination to collect his enemies’ “blood debt.” He challenges accusations directly, mocks appeals to justice made without evidence, and keeps defensive measures ready when meeting potentially dangerous cultivators 1 2 13 40.

His confidence initially grows into arrogance, including the belief that rebirth may make him a person favored by destiny. Losing the revived Yi Wood branch forces him to reconsider: he accepts that neither opportunities nor victory are guaranteed, and that his struggle against Su Ruanruan may end in his own death 16 24.

With Carefree Peak, he is affectionate, playful, and increasingly willing to act spoiled. Their gifts and protection give him the sense of belonging absent from his previous life. He reciprocates by supplying pills and planning to prevent their deaths, even when doing so requires dangerous cultivation gambles 6 7 19 46.

He prefers alchemy and spells to sword training, but his reluctance does not extend to all hardship. He repeatedly burns and repairs his own meridians to strengthen them and endures severe bodily damage while restoring his physique and subduing the Soul-Devouring Vine 7 10 26 35.

Joining Carefree Peak

Feng Zhuo counters Su Ruanruan’s attempt to shame him for refusing her low-grade pill, then avoids Chixiao at the master-selection ceremony. Lingxiaozi recommends Yunxiaozi, who secures an increased Primordial Spirit Spring allowance before taking him home to Carefree Peak 1 2 3.

The peak’s welcome changes his goal from personal survival to protecting his new family. He awakens his inherited flame, feeds it the Glazed Purifying Fire instead of contracting that dangerous flame again, and begins combining his two cultivation methods 4 5 6 7.

Auction and the Yi Wood Branch

At the Azure Cloud Pavilion auction, Feng Zhuo supports Cang Wuya’s pursuit of a Dark Nether Sword Token despite remembering the danger surrounding the divine sword. Qing Xuan subsequently asks for an introduction to Feng Qingge and gives Feng Zhuo a Yi Wood Broken Branch 11 13.

His attempt to revive and contract the branch fails when the Everlasting Spring Scripture consumes it. The loss instead advances his cultivation method and forces him to abandon the assumption that rebirth guarantees favorable outcomes 16.

Green Wood Illusion Forest

Using his knowledge of Su Ruanruan’s opportunities, Feng Zhuo retrieves ten-thousand-year-old Spirit-Cleansing Grass and Bell Spirit Milk from a hidden cave. He then breaks through a concealed formation and discovers a dying Yi Wood divine tree infested by the Nine Nether Soul-Devouring Vine 22 23.

He advances to Foundation Establishment Middle Stage, partially restores his Sacred Physique, and contracts the vine’s newborn seedling. The resulting backlash leaves him vulnerable when Su Ruanruan attempts an ambush; the vine’s indiscriminate blood resentment Qi injures her instead 25 26 27 36.

With Nangong Tang, he finds an ancient cave abode and obtains the Spirit-Taming Instruction. After stabilizing his contract, he traps more than fifty hostile disciples with the Green Vine Heart Flame and secures a recording of their attack 34 35 37.

Chu Yunfei and the Law Enforcement Hall

Feng Zhuo leaves the realm before the captured disciples and confronts Chu Yunfei. His flames, recovery speed, and cooperation with Yanba allow him to defeat the Golden Core sword cultivator. Zhong Mingxuan then intervenes with Peak Nascent Soul pressure and potentially lethal attacks 39 41 42.

At the Law Enforcement Hall, Feng Zhuo disputes Su Ruanruan’s accusations and displays the ambush recording. He swears that he neither poisoned her nor stole her Spirit-Cleansing Grass; the Soul-Oath Cauldron responds with golden light, and he suffers no punishment 44 45.

Leaving the Sect

After Su Ruanruan’s banishment to the Nine Nether Blood Domain, Feng Zhuo doubts Chixiao will allow her punishment to run its full ten years. He plans to obtain a Devil Qi-detecting spirit treasure from the Feng Household and expose Li Tianxing before the events that killed Yunxiaozi can recur 46.

He and Cang Wuya accept a long-term mission and leave the mountain. Ten days later, they reach Clear Creek Village and encounter Ji Tinglan of Clear Spring Valley. Suspicious that their mission omitted the nearby sect, Feng Zhuo conceals their affiliation and introduces them as disciples of a wandering rogue cultivator 49 50.
