Personality
Zhou Si is protective of her teammates without dismissing their abilities. Initially concerned that Lu Feng would be endangered by scouting alone, she offers to accompany him and later gives him an emergency communication talisman. After witnessing his perfected movement technique, she openly praises his achievement 27 28 29.
She values fairness and repays assistance. During their mountain search, she lets Lu Feng take the demon kills rather than competing with him. She initially refuses the second-tier ape demon he offers her because he killed it, and accepts only after his insistence. After he saves her again, she arranges to collect demon heads so he can claim their merit rewards 31 32 41.
Her manner is generally composed but firm. She presses Zhu Ren for truthful answers, keeps her colleagues focused on the investigation, and intervenes diplomatically when Luo Fang resists searching a disciple’s room again. She is also cautious about unfamiliar allies: Gan Ping’s survival in a demon lair for three years makes her unwilling to trust him immediately 28 32 41.
Abilities & Skills
Cultivation and Saber Combat
Zhou Si channels Nei Jin into her saber and uses fierce, swift techniques. Her strength is described as among the best of Su Prefecture’s demon slayers at her level 30 31 32.
- Blocks the golden-gray ape demon’s initial projectile attack before engaging it at close range 30.
- Struggles to penetrate the second-tier ape demon’s tough hide and fur, leaving only shallow wounds before being injured 31.
- Realm discrepancy: During the same battle, her strikes are described as carrying mid Nei Jin force, while a later passage identifies her cultivation as Nei Jin Perfection. No breakthrough between these descriptions is shown 31.
Movement, Sensing, and Recovery
- Lightness skill: Travels rapidly over long distances and climbs a tall tree with ease, though her movement is less refined than Lu Feng’s perfected technique 27 30.
- Presence sensing: Detects the second-tier beast inside the ape demon cave after concentrating 30.
- Injury treatment: Uses a healing pill and cultivation circulation to recover from her shoulder injury; the injury has healed by the following day 31 32.
- Poison treatment: Takes an antidote and circulates Qi to expel rat-demon poison. Her recovery is incomplete when she rejoins Lu Feng 41.
Investigation and Intelligence
Zhou Si combines field investigation with knowledge of Bureau affairs and regional power networks 33 49.
- Recognizes the similarity between Zhu Qi’s cultivation notes and the original report shown to her by Deputy Commandant Qin 33.
- Questions why the ape demons are both the only ranked beasts found on the rear mountain and the only beasts identified as attacking townspeople 33.
- Examines multiple rat-demon corpses and confirms that they have rapidly shriveled 42.
- Identifies the masked attackers as Zhao household retainers through their disguised fighting styles and a scar on their leader’s palm 49.
- Explains the Zhao household’s personnel, connections, territory, and the limits imposed by the Bureau’s prohibition on killing comrades 49.
Leadership and Administration
- Assigns investigative duties and divides the team when the underground passage branches 29 33 37.
- Takes control of the Fire Saber Sect, which has nearly twenty thousand disciples, within a few hours 47.
- Holds mission spoils and a fallen teammate’s remains in accordance with Bureau rules 47.
- Oversees the sect’s leadership transition and supplies two complete Ming Jin cultivation arts that she is permitted to pass on 48.
Equipment & Items

- Armor — Worn beneath her clothing; exposed when rat demons tear her outer garments 40.

History
Fire Saber Sect Investigation
Zhou Si leads Lu Feng, Liu Yong, Zhu Lin, and Luo Fang to Nanxi City to investigate reports of demonic beasts eating people in Fire Saber Sect territory. Their journey takes only half the expected time after Lu Feng sets a pace that reveals his perfected lightness skill. At the sect, Zhou Si questions Zhu Ren, who denies knowing about the attacks 27 28.
She and Lu Feng search South Rear Mountain, finding seven lairs occupied only by unranked demons. The absence of first-tier beasts arouses their suspicion. They eventually reach an ape demon lair, where Zhou Si fights a second-tier golden-gray ape while Lu Feng kills the lesser demons. The ape injures her right shoulder, forcing Lu Feng to rescue her and kill it. She ultimately accepts its corpse as compensation 29 30 31 32.
Back at the sect, Zhou Si helps investigate Zhu Qi, a disciple said to have died from Qi deviation. Comparing his notes with the report sent to the Bureau suggests that he was the informant and may have been silenced. She later follows Zhu Ren for a day but observes nothing unusual; Lu Feng’s separate investigation points the team toward Fragrant Virtue Hall 32 33 36.
Underground Caves
After Zhou Si demands access to the hall’s secret chamber, Zhu Ren opens the passage and then disappears underground. She divides the team at a fork and subsequently separates from Lu Feng at another junction 37.
Zhou Si later escapes a rat demon lair badly wounded and poisoned. Lu Feng finds her, helps her sit down, and enters the lair himself. While treating her poison, she sends Gan Ping to retrieve the heads of two demon kings Lu Feng has already killed, both to secure his merit rewards and to keep the untrusted Gan Ping away during her recovery 40 41.
After Lu Feng kills the rat king, the pair discover that the demon corpses are losing their blood and shriveling. Because Zhou Si remains injured and poisoned, Lu Feng sends her to the surface to investigate possible formations, mechanisms, and another entrance through Fragrant Virtue Hall. She leaves with Gan Ping and the collected heads 41 42.
Sect Reorganization and Return
By the time Lu Feng returns with the wounded Zhu Lin and Luo Fang, Zhou Si has brought the entire sect under her control. She receives their account of Zhu Ren’s Half-Demon identity and Liu Yong’s death, takes custody of Zhu Ren’s head and Liu Yong’s body, and discusses the report, funeral arrangements, sect administration, and merit distribution 47.
Zhou Si publicly confirms Zhu Ren’s execution and appoints Gan Ping as sect master. She also supplies two complete Ming Jin cultivation arts acquired on earlier missions, giving the disciples alternatives to their dangerous existing method 48.
On the return journey, masked martial artists ambush the surviving team. After Lu Feng defeats them, Zhou Si identifies their Zhao household connections and warns him about Zhao Long’s influence. At Merit Hall, she submits eight second-tier demon heads and a Half-Demon corpse. The mission earns 43,000 merit points, which Lu Feng chooses to divide equally among the four survivors 48 49.
