Evolution X Unsealing
Oh?
What a coincidence. Only one Talisman's proficiency remained.
After scanning the two evolution restrictions, which were simple enough, Baishi rubbed his chin, a thoughtful look in his eyes.
Both the restrictions and the hints indicated that evolving the wheel was not as difficult as he had expected. Of course, he couldn't rule out the possibility that later evolutions would become harder. The Talisman proficiency requirement alone suggested some details about what lay ahead.
Forget it! He had to eat one bite at a time and tackle things one by one.
He had too little information for now, so he could only take things as they came!
With that thought, Baishi extended his right hand. Colorless Nen Aura coiled and gathered, and amid an exceptionally faint hum, the grayish-white stone wheel materialized once more.
Knock, knock, knock! Baishi rapped on the wheel with a little force. He hadn't expected that something which looked like rock would actually be made of stone. And to think he had just considered enlarging the wheel to intercept the Great Stamp. If he had actually done it, the impact would probably have shattered the wheel into pieces.
As a conjured object, it should be able to materialize again and be restored after being damaged, right?
Baishi blinked. He couldn't say for certain, and he wasn't foolish enough to test it. If his one and only restricted cheat vanished in an experiment, who could he turn to for sympathy?
Swish, swish, swish~
Shaking his head to dispel the idiotic thought, Baishi touched the [Needle-Person Control] Talisman. After a moment's hesitation, he removed it first. He had originally intended to master [Zetsu] first, so he could recover his [Aura] faster.
But closing the Aura Nodes throughout his body wasn't something he could accomplish in a short time. Compared to that, he was more curious about what effect the talent Talisman would have once socketed!
Click!
At Baishi's mental command, [Needle-Person Control] came loose and slotted itself into a spare socket on the wheel. It was in a different position from before, at one o'clock.
Clearly, whether on the front or the back, the sockets had no fixed positions of their own. Their positions depended on the Talismans socketed in them.
Having figured that out, Baishi infused colorless Nen Aura into the [Dynamic Simulation] Talisman. With a click, the talent Talisman fell into his hand. Seeing this, he turned the wheel to the front, socketed the Talisman, and infused it with Nen Aura to activate it.
Hum!
In an instant, Baishi felt as though he had been placed under an extraordinarily special effect. His thoughts became incomparably clear, and even his dynamic vision subtly improved a great deal. Wherever he looked, everything seemed to come vividly alive.
Is this the world Gon sees?
Sure enough... the protagonist's talent really is absurdly overpowered.
Even a [blue]-level Advent Emulation Talisman granted such an exaggerated talent boost. Baishi became all the more interested in the effect of the [purple] Talisman.
At the moment, though, he could clearly sense that while the [Talisman - Dynamic Simulation] passively enhanced him, there was no visible change in his colorless Nen Aura. The problem was... his Nen Aura was constantly being consumed at a slight, steady rate.
Is that the difference between talent Talismans and ability Talismans? Active and passive...
Thoughtful, Baishi tapped the wheel with the Nen Aura at his fingertip.
[Talisman - Dynamic Copy (blue): Quickly observes, instinctively analyzes, and reproduces physical movements and force-exertion techniques seen, and applies what has been learned...]
As for how to make use of this talent Talisman, Baishi scanned the information projected by the stone panel several times. Before long, he had deduced several rough testing plans for increasing its proficiency.
But in his current surroundings, it seemed he couldn't put [Talisman - Dynamic Simulation] to use...
Huh~
Baishi glanced around and caught sight of several Great Stamps passing dozens of meters away. He hesitated for a moment, then finally set off at a run toward them.
Tap, tap, tap!
Before long, he tracked down the group of pigs. Some were rooting for food, some were digging at the ground, some were rubbing their noses against trees, and some were butting noses...
Rather than approach too closely at first, Baishi hid in a dense patch of grass and carefully observed each Great Stamp's behavior through the gaps.
With these points of reference, he finally understood just how pronounced the enhancement from the [Dynamic Simulation] Talisman was!
At that moment, the six Great Stamps of varying sizes seemed to move in slow motion, every detail of their movements reflected in Baishi's eyes. It was like bullet time, with the wealth of information he observed passively sending ripples through his mind.
He knew full well that even though his dynamic vision had been enhanced upon awakening, it couldn't possibly slow things down to such an exaggerated degree. After a moment's thought, Baishi understood at once.
It wasn't actually that the Great Stamps' movements had slowed in his eyes. Rather, all the information related to their physical movements and force-exertion techniques was continuously flooding into his mind, and the instinctive analysis was making his thoughts accelerate...
That was what ultimately caused the error in his perception.
What had truly sped up was the mental process of thought and analysis, not his physical dynamic vision!
Having figured this out, Baishi felt no disappointment. Instead, he concentrated on observing the Great Stamps in every way, constantly analyzing their movements, techniques, and exertion of force, especially when they charged from time to time...
Hmm~~
Just watching doesn't directly increase proficiency, huh~
Taking a moment to infuse Nen Aura and open the wheel's panel, Baishi saw that the Talisman's proficiency hadn't increased in the slightest. Once he had more or less figured out the movements and techniques he needed through analysis, he quietly withdrew. When he was some distance from the pigs, he abruptly sprinted off in one direction.
Tap, tap, tap! Swish-
His first steps looked extraordinarily awkward. Baishi was constantly making fine adjustments based on the Great Stamp's sprinting technique. After all, humans and animals were fundamentally different. Since he was learning it, he naturally had to adapt it for his own use!
With each adjustment, Baishi's sprint grew faster and faster. In particular, after incorporating the wild boar's charging technique, his first step on takeoff became extraordinarily fierce. The moment he burst forward, he was as swift and ferocious as a humanoid wild boar.
The longer his swift dash continued, the more his bearing seemed to resemble a boar's as well. It was the result of Baishi's Nen Aura inadvertently imbuing his surroundings with his will.
[Talisman - Dynamic Simulation proficiency +1 +1 +1 +1...]
Ding!
[Talisman - Dynamic Simulation proficiency has risen to proficient level, spirit +1]! [First and second evolution conditions both fulfilled!] [Talisman Wheel... beginning evolution and unsealing...]
Bang, bang-
