"After an Unlucky Straight Man Accidentally Became a Zerg Queen" by Black Cat White Socks [Complete]

Synopsis:

In the one hundred and twelfth year of the war between the Galactic Human Alliance and

the

Zerg.

Tormented by unwanted advances from other men, Su Lin fled to the most remote, rundown research institute to be a

salted fish.

But he never dreamed that he would encounter a surprise attack by a Zerg army there, much less that an accident would cause his body to fuse with a Zerg Queen specimen in a culture dish that had long since lost all signs of life.

When he came to after the excruciating pain, Su Lin was horrified to discover that he had been "rescued" from the collapsing laboratory by the Zerg army.

Thank goodness, the Zerg Queen specimen that had fused with his body was only a completely undeveloped larva, so the ravenous, savage, and fearsome male Zerg had not noticed anything amiss with him.

Now, Su Lin only had to face two life-or-death questions.

First, how could he conceal his human identity?

Second, how could he conceal the fact that he was also a Zerg Queen from the frenzied swarm?

[Reading guide]

· I started this on impulse, writing as I go without an outline, so I really can't decide on the main gong early on (the author genuinely doesn't know!)

· 1V1, not NP. Because of the setting, other characters will have feelings for the shou early on, but the shou will only return the gong's romantic feelings.

· The shou is a bit of a natural scumbag with straight-man chauvinism and all sorts of little flaws. The gong hasn't been decided yet, but he'll be a Zerg, and his thoughts and values will differ from a human's, so he certainly won't be perfect either!

· This is [Zerg Queen supremacy] Zerg fiction!!! Zerg Queen supremacy, Zerg Queen supremacy, Zerg Queen supremacy!!! Repeated three times!

· Since the shou turns into a Zerg Queen, his body will definitely undergo some special mutations! If that bothers you, please leave early!!!

· This is a work I wrote to satisfy my own cravings; I don't accept any writing advice.

· This work is not suitable for any extreme KK readers.

· The author's tastes are unusual, and I can't list every possible turnoff. If you consider yourself sensitive to such things, this work isn't for you.

· The author doesn't write explicit scenes or plant flowers. Please don't discuss works on other platforms too much in the comments here. Comment civilly to protect us all.

Chapter 1

For Su Lin, the day everything changed should have been a perfectly normal, ordinary day.

At seven thirty in the morning, he woke to the call of his automated housekeeping robot. Breakfast was the same A-15 standard general-purpose synthetic food, daytime edition, as it had been for ages. Sitting at the table and chewing the bland synthetic food, Su Lin considered spending a little more and ordering a higher-grade food next month, so that his breakfast would at least not taste as awful as it did now.

But when he opened his optical computer and saw his savings, the thought quickly vanished. Of course, that wasn't to say Su Lin was poor. In fact, his savings were quite substantial for a young man like him who had been raised in an

orphanage

and become an official researcher through his own efforts.

Even so, Su Lin put saving money first.

He exited the savings screen and switched to his Star Network messaging interface. The ID of the other person on the screen was gray; she was clearly offline at the moment.

Their last conversation from yesterday was still displayed on the screen.

[Araneae: I'm going to eat.]

[Little Grove (183): You haven't had dinner yet? It's so late.]

[Araneae: I already ate, but I got hungry again.]

[Araneae: Sorry, you don't think I eat too much, do you?]

[Little Grove (183): Of course not. You said yourself that your day job takes a lot of physical effort. Isn't it normal to eat a lot? Besides, girls who enjoy eating never have bad luck. I like girls who eat a lot.]

[Araneae: You're so nice.

[Little Grove (183): You're very cute too. Go eat, don't let yourself go hungry.]

[Little Grove (183): Oh, right, I've bought a ticket for a ship to the Swan Star System on Victory Day. I'm looking forward to meeting you.]

She hadn't replied after that, but as Su Lin looked at the conversation, a faint smile involuntarily appeared on his lips. The person he had been messaging was called Airena, presumably a young woman from some extremely remote star region. Like Su Lin, she was a victim of an online dating scam site. Thanks to the scam, though, Su Lin, whose luck in love had always been terrible, had finally caught a glimpse of romance.

Su Lin liked Airena very much.

Perhaps because the star region she lived in was so remote, there was something especially pure and unworldly about Airena. She knew almost nothing about popular culture, so she always showed a particular curiosity and wonder in their conversations. Some people might have found a country girl like her too unsophisticated, but to Su Lin, Airena was the very life partner he had always dreamed of.

She was unbearably cute.

Su Lin had already arranged to meet Airena in person. He had bought a ship ticket for the occasion and started saving money. After he and Airena got

married,

he naturally couldn't go on idling away as a salted fish at his current research institute. After all, the best educational resources were concentrated in the central district, and to qualify for a job there, he needed at least level-two citizenship privileges and at least 200,000 credits...

At the thought, Su Lin took a deep breath, feeling both fulfilled and a little weighed down.

If he had known he would meet someone he liked, he wouldn't have deliberately chosen to work at the remotely located Research Institute No. 37 for that embarrassing reason when he graduated. Staying at an institute that had fallen into decline long ago made it difficult both to save money and to raise his citizenship level. Speaking of which, what should he and Airena name their children? If it was a boy, they'd call him...
