Time flew by. In the blink of an eye, two days had passed, and it was time for classes to officially begin.

Tang Wulin arrived at his classroom early, excitedly taking in its surroundings.

There were already some people seated inside, most of them chatting with one another. When they saw him enter, quite a few girls' eyes lit up as they secretly observed him.

Unfortunately, after scanning the classroom, Tang Wulin disappointedly realized that there was no one he knew here.

Unlike Wang Dong's First Year Class One, he was in First Year Class Seven. They were not even in the same Teaching Building, so they had parted ways on the way here.

Fortunately, about five minutes before class began, someone he knew walked into the classroom.

"Sister Yutong!"

When Huo Yutong saw Tang Wulin, she revealed a smile as though she had breathed a sigh of relief and walked over to him.

"Hello, Wulin. How have the past few days been?"

"Not bad." Tang Wulin asked curiously, "Sister Yutong, are you and your roommate in different classes too?"

Huo Yutong nodded helplessly.

"Mm. She's in Class One, while I'm in Class Seven."

"Me too. Honestly, I was a little disappointed when I saw that there wasn't anyone I knew in the whole class."

Hearing that Huo Yutong had gone through the same thing, Tang Wulin immediately became a little excited.

Huo Yutong could not help but laugh.

"Is that so? But a good child like you will definitely be able to make lots of friends, even in such a completely unfamiliar environment."

As she spoke, she looked toward the other students in the class.

Then, her expression suddenly froze.

"Dai Huabin..."

"Sister Yutong?"

Hearing Huo Yutong's hate-filled murmur, Tang Wulin followed her gaze.

It was a golden-haired youth with heterochromatic eyes. He sat beside a beautiful black-haired young girl, his expression incomparably cold. Even when people around him tried to speak to him, he remained unmoved.

He was...

Just as Tang Wulin was about to ask Huo Yutong about him, a Teacher who looked to be around forty entered the classroom. With a gentle smile on his face, he clapped his hands and said,

"Alright, children, hurry and take your seats. I'm here to teach everyone."

Upon hearing him, Huo Yutong silently left Tang Wulin's side and casually found a seat.

Tang Wulin's question stuck in his throat, making him feel terrible.

In his impression, Huo Yutong had always been a very gentle person, emotionally steady and kind-hearted.

The last time she had displayed emotions so close to hatred had been when she had first entered the academy.

Tang Wulin thought back. The reason she had revealed such feelings then was because he had asked whether she knew some Scumbag.

The feelings she had shown back then were almost the same as they were now.

In other words, the Scumbag she knew was Dai Huabin?!

Tang Wulin was stunned by his own guess.

Could it be that Sister Yutong had been hurt by Dai Huabin in a relationship, which was why she hated him so much?

Tang Wulin felt extremely uncomfortable inside. He wanted to ask Huo Yutong, but there were already female classmates seated all around him, and the seat Huo Yutong had chosen was rather far away.

The next time class starts, I have to find a way to sit with Huo Yutong. Tang Wulin secretly made up his mind.

Seeing that everyone had more or less taken their seats, the Teacher on the platform introduced himself.

"Hello, everyone. My name is Wang Yan. My teaching philosophy is to be friends with my students, so if you have any questions, feel free to ask me at any time without reservations. I'll do my best to answer them."

As soon as he finished speaking, a student mischievously asked,

"Teacher, do you have a Girlfriend?"

Wang Yan's gaze immediately locked onto the student who had asked the question. He adjusted his glasses and said with a smile,

"Zhou Sichen, right? Teacher is single just like you. If you have anyone suitable, please be sure to introduce them to Teacher."

Seeing that Wang Yan had actually answered, the room instantly became lively. Some asked what his Martial Soul was, some asked how old he was this year, some asked which meal set in the cafeteria was the best value, and some even asked what color underwear he was wearing today.

Wang Yan either answered directly or brushed the questions aside with a joke. He answered nearly every question perfectly, thoroughly livening up the atmosphere in the classroom.

Even Tang Wulin, who had initially been weighed down by his thoughts, became a little excited from the atmosphere.

A few minutes later, Wang Yan clapped his hands and said,

"Alright, everyone, quiet down. We still have class."

Only then did the students gradually quiet down.

Wang Yan adjusted his glasses and said,

"Today is the first day of school, so we won't go over anything difficult. Let's talk about Shrek Academy."

As he spoke, he called out,

"Student Tang Wulin, can you stand and answer a question for me?"

"Yes."

Tang Wulin hurriedly stood up.

Wang Yan asked with a smile,

"What is your understanding of Shrek Academy?"

Tang Wulin answered,

"The number one academy on the continent, with a history of ten thousand years."

"That's right." Wang Yan nodded and added, "At the same time, it is also an academy that only cultivates monsters."

He turned around, picked up a piece of chalk, and began writing names on the blackboard.

Beast Fighting Arena, Library Pavilion, Soul Dueling Zone, Soul Tool Testing Ground...

As he wrote, he said,

"As you can see, these are the important facilities of our academy. Nearly all of the equipment is among the best on the continent. Here, you may freely use these high-end venues. Since you have been able to enter the academy, I believe all of you are outstanding among your peers and should understand how to make efficient use of the resources around you. The academy's role is to provide you with help when you need resources. I believe that any student who wishes to learn will definitely be able to learn a great deal here."

By the time he finished speaking, he had also finished writing. He turned back and introduced Tang Wulin to the class.

"I believe everyone has also noticed what is different about Tang Wulin. That's right, he is nine years old this year and entered the academy early due to some special circumstances. Because he is younger, his rank is near the bottom among the students. I hope everyone will not discriminate against him and will make friends with him instead, alright?"

"Alright!"

The students had already developed a considerable amount of goodwill toward Wang Yan. Naturally, they readily agreed to this not-overly-demanding request.

Tang Wulin felt warmth fill his heart.

He could hear the concern in Wang Yan's words. This Teacher, whose style was completely different from Wu Zhangkong's, gave Tang Wulin a brand-new experience.

Next, Wang Yan had Tang Wulin sit down and began explaining the academy's rules and points of note.

His explanations were incisive and thorough, organizing the originally numerous and chaotic pieces of information into perfect order. Even Tang Wulin, who had originally known nothing about the academy, felt that he had gained a great deal after listening to his lesson.

As expected of a Teacher from the continent's number one academy, Tang Wulin sighed inwardly.

Under Wang Yan's vivid and interesting explanation, even time seemed to pass faster. In the blink of an eye, the bell rang, and it was time for class to end.

Author's Note

There were many reasons why Tang Wulin and Huo Yutong were in Wang Yan's class.

The in-story reason was that Mu En had secretly manipulated things behind the scenes, deliberately arranging for a Teacher he trusted to guide these two children.

The out-of-story reason was that I was nearly sick of reading Zhou Yi's scenes. Any novel that follows the Shrek route has to take a shot at her. She really is unpleasant, but I find it truly boring to constantly pit her against some great fairy, so she will still appear in this book, but with very little screen time. I will not spend too much space describing her.
