Background / History

Shrek Academy has existed for ten thousand years and is recognized as the continent's foremost academy. Its early rise was tied to the original Shrek Seven Devils, seven exceptional students who turned the tide in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament and laid the foundation for the academy's prominence. Sea God Tang San was among them. 7 90

Two thousand years before the main events, the academy was defeated while opposing the Body Sect's actions across the continent. In response, Shrek mobilized experts from across the world through the Shrek Summons and established Sea God's Pavilion, enabling it to halt the Body Sect. 171

The academy had also used the Shrek Summons four thousand years ago, when a Pavilion Master gathered Titled Douluo-level experts from the continent and helped the Original Three Kingdoms drive back the Sun Moon Empire. 422

Sea God's Pavilion

Sea God's Pavilion serves as Shrek Academy's highest authority. Its elders include numerous Titled Douluo-level powerhouses, most of them Super Douluo, while the Pavilion Master directs the academy's major policies and external decisions. 191 448

Mu En, Shrek's dean and a Pavilion authority, could waive ordinary admissions procedures for exceptional talents. He permitted Tang Wulin to enroll early and ordered him to cultivate at Sea God's Pavilion every weekend. 3

Shrek's normal enrollment age is eleven, making Tang Wulin's admission at age ten a notable exception. 197

The Second Year Promotion Exam requires students to:

Shrek Seven Devils

The title Shrek Seven Devils originally referred to the academy's seven finest students during its formative era. It is not automatically granted to every tournament team; students selected in Chapter 90 were initially only the Reserve Team accompanying the current Seven Devils. 90

After winning the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament under extraordinary circumstances, the Reserve Team received the title Shrek Seven Devils for life. Each member was also awarded a soul bone, with Shrek providing three additional soul bones to supplement the four acquired in Star Luo City. 191

The academy maintained a ten-thousand-year championship record in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. Its Main Team normally consisted entirely of Soul Kings or stronger students under twenty, including Soul Emperor Dai Yueheng. 93

Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament

Shrek selected Tang Wulin, Huo Yutong, Beibei, Xu Sanshi, He Caitou, Zhou Sichen, and Wang Dong as its Reserve Team after they won a battle royale. Xuan Zi required them to train daily in the Soul Dueling Zone before the tournament. 90

When the Main Team was severely injured during the Hand of Death operation in the Mingdou Mountain Range, the Reserve Team had to represent Shrek alongside the few recovering Main Team members. The academy's honor was placed on Tang Wulin's shoulders. 98 103 105

The Reserve Team defeated Blazing Sun Academy in less than half a minute through Tang Wulin and Huo Yutong's Forest of Myriad Spirits, deliberately concealing much of Shrek's true strength from rival academies. 107

Despite an incomplete lineup, Shrek ultimately won the championship. Sea God's Pavilion considered the victory one of the most meaningful in academy history and awarded the team lifetime Seven Devils status. 191

Renewed Tournament Representation

In the following Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Competition, Huo Yutong captained Shrek's team while Tang Wulin represented the Tang Sect. Shrek completed the Round Robin as a first-place team and later defeated the Snow Demon Sect in both the Individual Match and Team Battle. 308 323 328 344

Cooperation with the Body Sect

Shrek Academy and the Body Sect carried a long-standing grudge rooted in earlier conflicts, including Mu En's killing of a previous Body Sect leader. 244

Facing the combined threat of the Sun Moon Empire and the Holy Spirit Cult, the two sides set aside their hostility. Tang Wulin and Du Busi formally swore an alliance until the war's end; Shrek agreed to provide Soul Tool supply discounts, while the Body Sect would send personnel to help train Shrek students. 422 427

Shrek Summons and the War

Under Tang Wulin's leadership as the new Pavilion Master, Shrek issued the Shrek Summons after the Sun Moon Empire initiated war. More than ninety percent of ordinary sects in the Original Three Kingdoms answered the call, alongside major sects and the Body Sect. 447

The gathering at Sea God Island brought together twelve Super Douluo, sixty-three Titled Douluo, and 452 Soul Douluo, in addition to numerous Soul Sages and Soul Emperors. 448
