Background / History

Mu En's original body was crippled by damage to its origin caused by a Dragon Core. The injury continuously drained his Life Force, left him wheelchair-bound, and ultimately limited his remaining lifespan despite treatment. In an earlier conflict, he killed the elder brother of Du Busi, creating lasting hostility between himself and the Body Sect. 203 602

He first encountered Tang Wulin after Beibei brought the child to Sea God's Pavilion. Mu En personally tested Tang Wulin's Golden Dragon Claw, easily stopping its full-force strike despite feeling instinctive fear from the Golden Dragon King bloodline. Recognizing Tang Wulin's extraordinary potential, he arranged his early enrollment at Shrek and accepted him as a disciple. 3

Mu En became Tang Wulin's principal mentor, teaching him the Blood Essence Cultivation Method and later his signature technique, King's Descent. He also committed Shrek's resources to strengthening Tang Wulin's foundation, including soul beast meals and a search for rare medicinal herbs. 38 68 143

Though initially suspicious of Huo Yutong's unexplained powers, Mu En investigated her connection to the Extreme North personally. After deducing that Snow Empress resided within her, he chose to trust Huo Yutong's character and support her rather than expose or pressure her. He later claimed her as his disciple when Du Busi attempted to recruit her for the Body Sect. 44 193 203

As Sea God's Pavilion Master, Mu En sought to reform Shrek Academy's stagnant culture. He backed Tang Wulin as the academy's future successor, redirected resources toward the Soul Engineering Department, ordered cooperation between Shrek's Martial Soul and Soul Engineering Departments, and refused to let Xuan Zi resign after the latter's failures. 59 104 211

Near death, Mu En made final succession arrangements: Xuan Zi became the next Sea God's Pavilion Master, while Tang Wulin was named Pavilion Master Successor. He appointed Cai Mei'er as dean of the Martial Soul Department, imposed a ten-year test on Yan Shaozhe, and gave Tang Wulin the Dragon Core and a Hundred-Thousand-Year Dragon Blood Ganoderma to aid his cultivation. Mu En's remnant soul continued to assist Tang Wulin from within the Golden Ancient Tree. He spent his final strength suppressing the Dragon Core's energy when it threatened to overwhelm Tang Wulin. 212 238
